NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Members of the unwashed public can now enjoy a glass of something special—from a selection of more than 1,000 bottles—at this wine bar with small plates from the fancy-pants Tribeca wine club New York Vintners. A run-in with LeBron James isn't guaranteed, but it isn't strictly impossible, either." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

"The brains behind this wine lover's paradise, Robert Allen and Derrick Mize, worked at Italian Wine Merchants under Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich before establishing this one-stop shop for all things vino. Their Tribeca shop is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the storefront, which shows off their collection of temperature-controlled, mostly European wines. Here they host wine tastings and classes where you can learn about food pairings (they’ll even teach you what makes biodynamic, organic, and sustainable winemaking practices superior). Their workshops and lessons are all-inclusive, so you don’t need to bring anything but an open mind."

I love The Foyer. This small space is a great hangout offering the perfect mix of high quality wines by the glass and exquisitely prepared foods. I expected a high level of snobbery here but instead I’ve been consistently greeted with professionalism and hospitality on par with my most memorable NYC meals. I just can’t say enough about the owners and staff of The Foyer and NY Vintners and if you’re a wine-and-food person, you’d be wrong to let any of this get by you. I enjoyed a meal there during a special occasion just a few days ago and I hope they remember me.

The Foyer offered a truly remarkable and immersive experience. Harris was exceptionally warm and hospitable, demonstrating impressive knowledge of their curated wine selection. His generosity extended to presenting us with an array of exquisite dishes, among which the pizza and carpaccio stood out as personal favorites, both absolutely delicious.

Great bartender who knows his wine. I lost count of how many wines we sampled. All were delicious. The space is absolutely huge once you go past the wine bar.

Stumbled across this little gem on a Tuesday where it’s open to the public. Didn’t have high expectations due to a lack of “buzz” but - wow, was I impressed. - the place has so many different venue spaces. Each with a unique touch and a different use case. - the wine. Got lucky enough to be served by one of the owners. Gave minimal direction after being asked “red or white” “light or heavy” and he nailed it. - the food?! Seriously? The pizza was excellent. Chinese sausage, incredibly unique and delicious. The highlight and what I find myself still thinking about meals later. I’d definitely come back for a true tasting.

There is nothing like this in New York City. I have never seen a place more representative of the mystique of the wine world. The concept is led by two incredibly hospitable and gracious people who are unbelievably knowledgeable about wine, and the craft, the art, the wine regions, and producers. Walking into Vintners is not like any normal or regular wine shop. It is an opportunity to interact and to learn and to engage in the world of Wine. You always — with 100% certainty — will be able to purchase or try something super unique, delicious and special with a story. Whether you are new to wine, just drink it recreationally from time to time, or are an aficionado — this place is 100% your go to.

There are many places to buy wine in Manhattan but New York Vintners is my absolute favorite. This place is more than just a wine shop. Their staff is so knowledgeable, which is not surprising given most of them are sommeliers. Always on hand to pick out the perfect bottle. A fantastic selection of Italian wines; great price/value as well and always something new when I go in. Finally, they do some really fun wine classes, where you can go and try a bunch of different wines with food pairings. I highly encourage you to grab a couple of friends and make it a party! It really is the best time!

Great! Had a class with a friend - enough wine and snacks to have. Spent a while after class just talking. Very nice & clean venue.

Yelp
Great selection. Lovely atmosphere. Very kind and attentive owners. Was so lucky to find this place open in the 4th of July.
