My Loup is a cozy French haven where inventive seafood dishes and a creative tasting menu shine under attentive service, making every bite a celebration.
"Thanks to it's glimmering seafood towers, modern French mains, and caviar-topped everything, this Rittenhouse restaurant works just as well for a martini-fueled group dinner as it does for a romantic night out on the town. Like its sister restaurant, Her Place Supper Club, it’s a tough reservation to get. But a blow-out meal here is worth the hassle. They make technically impressive food and cocktails without any of the self-seriousness that usually comes with it." - candis mclean, alison kessler
"My Loup is what happens when you allow an emerging husband-and-wife chef duo like Alex Kemp and Amanda Shulman to do their thing. Pleasantly unpredictable, yet somehow very familiar, this Rittenhouse restaurant serves an ever-changing modern French menu that’s hip without sass and ambitious without stuffiness. Whether you’re trying the delicious smoked eel Caesar salad or masterfully grilled swordfish with Jimmy Nardello peppers and squid, it’s a fine dining experience worth the trip (if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation)." - Eater Staff, Ernest Owens
"I ordered the Esca-roll at My Loup because I thought the name was clever, knowing well that a good food pun is not an automatic great dish. But whether the ingenious idea for the petite roll of bread filled with escargot started as a play on the similarly named endive or just a mash-up of two words, chef Alex Kemp has unleashed a dish that elicits much more than a chuckle. A lone sculpturesque roll arrives atop a pool of herb-rich butter, the whole affair showered in Parmesan. The steaming bread unravels like a roll of film, revealing generous chunks of meat. It’s as if a cinnamon roll has crashed head-on into a plate of France’s finest escargot." - ByThe Bon Appétit Staff & Contributors
"Some restaurants take a few visits to become one of your go-tos. At Rittenhouse’s My Loup, it takes about five minutes. The French restaurant is an easy choice for an intimate date night, fun group dinner, or martini-fueled catch-up with friends. We can’t stop thinking about the creamy crab toast, scallop crudo with sweet bits of apple, and tender, perfectly cooked lamb shoulder. Like its sister restaurant, Her Place Supper Club, it’s a near-impossible reservation to get. But for a go-to like this, it’s worth whatever tactic you have to pull to dine here (even if it means joining the staff). " - candis mclean, alison kessler
"Going to Rittenhouse’s My Loup and not getting the seafood plateau would be like going to Aruba and skipping the beach: joyless, regrettable, and frankly, stupid. At the buzzy, intimate French restaurant, you’ll likely hear Fleetwood Mac coming out of the speakers and see endless trays of mussels, pickled shrimp, oysters, and crudo whizzing by. The ingredients change about as often as Mr. Rogers changed his sweater, so one week you might have scallops on a bed of apple glaze and the next covered in buttermilk and peas. No matter how it’s prepared, it’s about as satisfying as that island vacation when you actually hit the sand. " - candis mclean
