"A real classic. The special thing with this place is that it's not special at all but situated among only special bars and fancy dining places. So ask your fancy friend to shut up and go in here, order a beer and sit down. Talk about what you never told your parents, try to squeeze the top of a beer glass into your mouth and decide a game who's going to pay a round of ill tasting shots. Now we could have posted this as a restaurant but we didn't want to since we would never go here for the food. We also could have posted photoshopped images of the bar but we didn't want to since that's not the reason why you should go here. It is the perfect last hideout since it’s open until 03 AM on Friday's and Saturday's." - Snask

Came here on a organised tour for lunch. Swedish meatballs, potato, salad and cucumber. Meatballs were delicious and weren't like the ikea ones in Australia. Gravy and cucumber in a pickle were also great. Potato was not to my liking but this maybe the taste of Swedish potato. Meals were finished with strawberry ice cream that once again was excellent. Only issue was getting down the stairs in the old restaurant basement. Another experience. Rated highly.

Great restaurant located in the Old Town area of Stockholm, the venue is set in the cellars, really qwerky with Simple but effective decor. Although, the manikin sat at the piano as you walk in is a little strange. However service is super and quick, perhaps a little to quick between the Starter and Main course, the portion sizes are huge - couldn't find room for a pudding. The menu has a good range of choice, (starter, main, puddings) with pasta, fish / shellfish, and authentic Swedish beef & reindeer dishes and the infamous meatballs. They also do a 3 course set meal if your on a tighter budget (Swedish prices) All very delicious, but beware they like their salt. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice little pub with a warm atmosphere, right in the heart of Stockholm's Gamla Stan. Beautiful interior, however it can fill up quickly and may be difficult to find a seat. Ordered a Pale ale with Fish & Chips from the bar. All was good, but the chips portion was small. Prices were quite high but not unexpected considering it's in the Gamla Stan area.

Nice bar, normal prices right in the heart of old town.

Just upfront, this was part of a package I booked. It was a ghost walk tour and it came with a three course meal at this restaurant. This was extremely fun and valuable! We got to learn a lot about Stockholm and then got a great meal. I will review the ghost walk tour on my profile as well. Food: great food. It was fresh and very well prepared. I gave it a 4 because there were some slight modifications I believe they could have made to make it a 5. The first course was a shrimp seafood dip. This is the first place I saw opportunity to make the food a little better. The dip itself tasted very good. It was cold. It was very crisp and the textures were spot on. My opinion, the course is too big for a single person. This course could have been shared. I felt badly not eating it all but for me and my partner, we both struggled to finish ours. I would suggest making this a sharable course, or, I would serve it with more toast. This serving comes with one half slice. Basically you have to load up the entire half slice of bread with the equivalent of a big ice cream scoop. It isn't a huge complaint. The quality and flavor is excellent. It is the portion size that feels incorrect. Next was the main meal. This was two sirloin fillets, green beans, potatoes au gratin. It was served with a beautifully made mushroom gravy. The filets were nicely seasoned, tender, and fresh. The only issue I would bring up is that my partner hates rare meat. She won't eat it. The steaks were not cooked to individual temperatures. They were cooked to mid-rare. This was not an issue for me but was a huge issue for her. It didn't upset the meal greatly. They were kind enough to cook it to the temperature she wanted. It did throw the timing of our meal off simply bc she didn't want my food to get cold while we waited for hers to come back. I would suggest maybe asking first but if they have been getting mostly success with it thus far, I wouldn't change too much. Other than the temperature, everything about the meal was perfect. The potatoes were so good! Some of the best I've had. The final course was the dessert. This was a salted caramel brownie with fresh whipped cream. The balance of everything on this was perfect. All the flavors combined wonderfully and the portion size was perfect. Service: not much else to say besides job well done. Professional, courteous, and very helpful. Flawlessly executed meal. Atmosphere: this spot has some particularly cool claims to fame. To dine here you actually go underground into a very old vault. It is very clean. No odors. It is well furnished and nicely lit. It is a perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner. Lends to an upscale vibe. Overall I like the decor, the concept, and the execution.

Was there for Christmas dinner "Julbord". A very good selection of food. High quality. Great service. We were a big group so when they said the time is up we went upstairs to the bar. It was very difficult to find a good place for big group. If you have some sort of a team kick off and more than 10, then maybe you should re-think about the bar part; Also make sure you get the big table for the dinner. They might put you on separate tables of you don't clarify it.

Google
Hidden gem, so many places in the area offering overpriced crap food, yet this is quiet as it seems to be just off the thoroughfare. The Symphony recommended. Do yourself a favour. No affiliation.

World class Swedish meal at reasonable prices with top service! I would call Movitz a must-try if you are new to Stockholm. The restaurant is in a hand dug cellar from the year 1600 that has been modernized to a fine dining restaurant. The wait staff are fluent in English and several other European languages and were absolutely at the top of their game. The food is classic Swedish fare including reindeer, Swedish meatballs with their own lingon berry sauce, Salmon, Halibut, etc. We recommend the toast Skagen as a starter. It was one of the best examples of this classic Swedish h'ors doevres we have eaten.

Yelp
OMG. This might be the best steak dinner we have ever had. We added a three course meal at Movitz to a local tour. I admittedly had low expectations because it wasn't expensive. We were greated warmly and sat at tables covered I white clothes. The host for the evening explained our progressive meal then busied himself in making sure everyone had beverages - but he didn't just take your order. At one point he brought my husband five different beer options to choose from. The meal. Wow. First course was toast skaggen; this might be my new favorite dish. Next up, beef tenderloin. So much beef, perfectly cooked. Two sauces. To end the meal, a chocolate brownie with Dulce de leche and whipped cream. I admit, I needed a minute alone with that brownie.

Yelp
No. No, I won't return. I have passed by this pub (there is a restaurant section that has a separate entrance) several times and always wanted to try it, now I have and now I know. It looks decent from outside but once inside...no. Dull selection of draught beer - I should have walked out right then - but they do have Guinness which is always a saviour. It looks more like the local pizza place, in darker decor, than a cool cozy real pub. Friendly staff. But no.

Yelp
Poor starters, straight from the fridge. Sparkling, very sour. Main - ok meat but sides are just dipped in butter. Beside from the meat the main side was haricot vert, I think there were like 3 pieces that looked really scared curled up real tight. Don't go here, there are many nicer places. This is just over priced with bad food.

Yelp
Not sure why people hating on this place. I went in regardless of Yelp reviews as even in winter a lot of the pubs in the area all full. Staying at the Sheraton and they recommended this area. Got a great table, staff super friendly and spoke English which is awesome for me as a tourist. The food was great. She recommended a traditional steak and vegetables dish highlighted on their menu. No idea what it costs but who cares it was great. Tried two different beers and they were both great. I'm an Australian who lives in California so an experienced judge of beers. This was a great dinner, and considering lunch was at the Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen (just flew in) it's been a great day.

Yelp
Quirky bar just off the main street. Younger crowd on friday and saturday night but pretty quiet during the rest of the week. Very basic kitchen.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to sit and drink. We found it and it was good. Only went to the bar half, but no complaints at all. Good selection of drinks, beer, liquor, etc. Friendly (spoke English) bartender. Chill, quiet, seemingly local bar/pub. Great place to stop in, drink beer, warm up, chat with locals.
