"A spectacular waterfall that, at 272 feet, is nearly 100 feet higher than Niagara (although much narrower), offering dramatic views and a powerful natural attraction close to the city." - Nina Caplan
"At 272 feet, this gorgeous waterfall is about 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. There are nearby activities including zip lines, via ferrata routes, a suspension bridge, cable car, and cliffside boardwalk with panoramic views. It's just a 15-minute drive from Quebec City center." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Under 20 minutes by car from Québec City (or, if you are feeling ambitious, less than an hour by bike, with most of the ride on a well-maintained path), Chute-Montmorency (Montmorency Falls) is the area's most impressive natural wonder. If you visit the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec before you go, the sight will look familiar: Montmorency has long been a popular subject for local painters. Think Niagara is impressive? The cascade here is a full 99 feet higher—272 feet to the Horseshoe Falls' 173 feet. In winter, spray from the falls freezes into a hill at its base, known as the Sugarloaf, and snowshoes are available for rent if you want to explore the nearby trails. In the summer, there's a zip line for those in search of an adrenaline bump. Year-round, a cable car carries passengers to the top of the falls, providing bird's-eye views en route."

What a cool park. You pay an entrance fee, and you have 2 choices to go to the bottom of the falls, walk all the way around the park, over the suspension bridge down this cool set of 478 stairs down to the bottom incredible views all the way through or option number 2. Take the cable car down to see the bottom of the falls. And take the cable car back recommended for people who do not have good mobility. We chose to walk over the bridge and down the stairs to the bottom of the falls, where we saw a rainbow, which was super cool and then took the cable car back up. We saw a lot of people trying to walk back up the stairs. And were heavily winded, so we decided to take the cable car up either way. It's a great day, incredible views front on top of the bridge from the bottom of the right. The falls you can even walk down all the way to the water. Super cool, highly recommended. We will return.

It was a nice little outing, but don't consider it a must see. They have a cable car so both the top and bottom of the falls are accessible. If you want to see everything be aware that there is a fair amount of walking involved.

This is a really great attraction spot! There’s a park, trail, falls and a suspension bridge. You can buy tickets for a lift if you don’t want to take the stairs but I’d recommend the stairs if you can because theres beautiful viewpoints along the way up.

We started at the mansion/hotel at the top where we had delicious soup and cocktails to warm us up. Then rode the tram down to the bottom where the view of the falls was great. Got some good pictures.

The waterfall itself isn’t particularly impressive, but the park at the top is beautiful and relaxing. It’s very clean and easy to access, whether by car or cable car.
That said, I’m not sure why there’s a fee to view the falls — it feels unnecessary.

Montmorency Falls is an incredible spot to visit in the fall. The waterfall is impressive year-round, but the surrounding fall foliage makes it even more stunning. The cliffs and trees turn bright shades of red, orange, and yellow, creating a beautiful contrast with the white water. The suspension bridge and viewing platforms offer great angles for photos and a clear view of the entire landscape. It’s definitely one of the best places to experience Quebec’s fall scenery.

This was a worthwhile stop. The falls are taller than Niagara falls, but not as dramatic. Still, an amazing natural wonder. There was plenty of parking, a modern and clean visitor's center with clean washrooms and a snack bar (a wonder in itself considering the crowds of people that visit here). You can ascend to the top on a stairway, if you wish. But the Gondola ride is worth the price of admission, and it moves slowly enough that it will not intimidate the most sensitive of riders. Go to the top. Sit at a picnic table above the falls in the shade. Take it in. It's marvelous.

***Free park entry after 5pm until 6pm close*** Cable car still costs $15 each.
Spectacular sites not to be missed.
Cable car takes only 2min.
If walking the stairs they are no joke, you had better be fit! But there are 3 rest stations/sight see along the stairs after every 4 or 5 flights.
Paths are in very good condition.

Yelp
Montmorency Falls should be a must see if you visit Quebec City. It's about 7.5 miles drive. The falls are amazing, 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls. There are many options for exploring the falls. You can walk the boardwalk and stay at the bottom of the falls, climb the stairs for an amazing view, ride a cable car over the fall, take a zip line or walk the suspension bridge over the top of the falls.
It costs about $5.00 U.S. to enter but it's well worth the price.

Yelp
I loved seeing the falls. Took the tram up and down, which was both fun and easier on the legs. The grounds were well kept with lots of flowers. I liked that people could hike if they wanted, but there was an easier way up and down (for an added cost of $6 cad).
The cafe and rest area were spacious, clean, and was a nice spot inside to rest if needed.
Walked the suspension bridge (twice) which felt really precarious. The boards are laid longwise, which made it feel unsteady. Got some great photos from this spot though.
