"At 272 feet, this gorgeous waterfall is about 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. There are nearby activities including zip lines, via ferrata routes, a suspension bridge, cable car, and cliffside boardwalk with panoramic views. It's just a 15-minute drive from Quebec City center." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"Under 20 minutes by car from Québec City (or, if you are feeling ambitious, less than an hour by bike, with most of the ride on a well-maintained path), Chute-Montmorency (Montmorency Falls) is the area's most impressive natural wonder. If you visit the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec before you go, the sight will look familiar: Montmorency has long been a popular subject for local painters. Think Niagara is impressive? The cascade here is a full 99 feet higher—272 feet to the Horseshoe Falls' 173 feet. In winter, spray from the falls freezes into a hill at its base, known as the Sugarloaf, and snowshoes are available for rent if you want to explore the nearby trails. In the summer, there's a zip line for those in search of an adrenaline bump. Year-round, a cable car carries passengers to the top of the falls, providing bird's-eye views en route."

We visited the falls on a beautiful winter day. There were more people than I expected! There is a fee to enter the lower parking lot (fee is per person even if you are all in the same car). Tickets for the cable car to go to the top of the falls need to be purchased separately. There is a queue to get into the cable car but the queue moved quickly and was managed well by the park staff. I believe you can hike to the top in the warmer months.

Fantastic place to visit! In winter time looks even more fabulous! Ticket price is 10$ per person, but if you are the QC resident, only 5$. For the cable car for 2 person is 32$. Highly recommend! Worth to visit.

I’ve visited Montmorency Falls in the summer, but experiencing it in winter was an entirely new level of fun and adventure! The frozen waterfall was absolutely breathtaking, and the surrounding snowy landscape made it feel like a winter wonderland. The icy views were surreal, and walking along the icy trails added a thrilling touch. Whether you're into hiking, photography, or just soaking in natural beauty, Montmorency Falls in winter is a must-see. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience something truly magical during the colder months!

Montmorency Falls in winter is amazing, even though it’s really cold. The lake below the falls freezes, and you can walk on it, which is really cool. But be careful, because it’s slippery and you might fall. The view of the falls and the snowy landscape is beautiful. I also recommend taking the walking path to get a closer look at the falls gives you a better view. It's definitely worth visiting, just be ready for the cold and ice!

It’s a small waterfall but looks really good. I want to visit it during summer but going here in winter was just like a fairy tale. Loved the frozen water and it was a bliss. Even the sound of water was so calming and relaxing. I went on Christmas Day so unfortunately the falls were shut where we can walk over the suspension bridge and all but we could walk near the falls and the views were breathtaking.

Stunning look out with a great view of the falls! The walk over the bridge is scenic with the entrance to the main path nearby. Definitely recommend visiting in summer and winter to see the many fabulous views of the falls!

Impressive! We did not have too much time during our trip to stop here, but the falls looked really impressive even from afar. I would recommend coming here it is after all free of charge and quite close to QC.

A must stop 10 minutes from Quebec City. Bottom trail is flooded (January 1), but we took the gondola up. Great views of the St. Lawrence River. You definitely get a sense of how powerful the falls is while at the top.
