"A spectacular waterfall that, at 272 feet, is nearly 100 feet higher than Niagara (although much narrower), offering dramatic views and a powerful natural attraction close to the city." - Nina Caplan
"At 272 feet, this gorgeous waterfall is about 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. There are nearby activities including zip lines, via ferrata routes, a suspension bridge, cable car, and cliffside boardwalk with panoramic views. It's just a 15-minute drive from Quebec City center." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Under 20 minutes by car from Québec City (or, if you are feeling ambitious, less than an hour by bike, with most of the ride on a well-maintained path), Chute-Montmorency (Montmorency Falls) is the area's most impressive natural wonder. If you visit the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec before you go, the sight will look familiar: Montmorency has long been a popular subject for local painters. Think Niagara is impressive? The cascade here is a full 99 feet higher—272 feet to the Horseshoe Falls' 173 feet. In winter, spray from the falls freezes into a hill at its base, known as the Sugarloaf, and snowshoes are available for rent if you want to explore the nearby trails. In the summer, there's a zip line for those in search of an adrenaline bump. Year-round, a cable car carries passengers to the top of the falls, providing bird's-eye views en route."

Amazing place. Entrance with car was easy and lots of spaces to park. It costs but includes the parking. The star of the park is the falls. Definitely worth the visit. Staff were helpful and spoke English.

Montmorency Falls is worth a visit. It is breathtaking. You can see the falls in different perspective from riding the cable car, from the bridge to climbing down the stairs. The best and amazing view is when you climbed down to the lower level of the stairs because it’s a close up view to the falls. It is a bit chilly down there so its better to wear sweater or better a water proof sweater because you might get wet if you stay a bit longer near the falls. Highly recommended.

Montmorency Falls is a great place to spend a few hours. We took the cable car to the top of the falls. There's a restaurant on the top. There's a bit of construction on the top, probably expanding the place. You can also drive to the top but there are only limited parking spaces available. On the top, you can zipline back, or take the cable car to go back down or take the steps all the way down. There's a small space for kids to play on the top right before the bridge over the falls. There's lots of parking available in the main entrance as well. A gift shop and an information centre is also there in the main entrance. I would recommend buying tickets in advance online. You can get the entry pass, cable car tickets together. Overall great experience.

The waterfall is absolutely stunning! The single entry ticket is around $17 CAD for adults, and the cable car is about $13 CAD one way. Totally worth it for the experience. The suspension bridge over the falls is breathtaking too, offering an incredible view from the top. I really enjoyed the whole journey—lots of great spots for photos and unforgettable scenery. It’s definitely a must-visit in Quebec City, and I highly recommend it. I can only imagine how magical it must look in winter, and I can’t wait to come back to see it then.

July 2025. Great park with lots to do with hiking, a cable car and zip line. Of course all of this revolves around the falls itself which is very impressive. The mist close to the falls is quite refreshing on a hot day. I didn't enjoy climbing those stairs, but it was there so we had to do it.

Very beautiful falls, there is upper falls you can see it either left or right side. Also there is a bridge over the bridge. The good thing of the bridge you can see it from every side. Also there is a passage you can reach until almost below the falls. So interesting. Very limited parking, very limited restrooms.

This is one of the best falls to visit when you are in Quebec City. You can access the falls within a cable car, which can have a very long queue depending on the season. Otherwise, you can just admire the views from the platform where the cable car departs. The view is superb.

It was a good experience overall. The fall was tall and beautiful. Hanging bridge is a must see. If you want to avoid taking steps and walks it is recommended to park at upper parking.
