"At 272 feet, this gorgeous waterfall is about 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. There are nearby activities including zip lines, via ferrata routes, a suspension bridge, cable car, and cliffside boardwalk with panoramic views. It's just a 15-minute drive from Quebec City center." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"Under 20 minutes by car from Québec City (or, if you are feeling ambitious, less than an hour by bike, with most of the ride on a well-maintained path), Chute-Montmorency (Montmorency Falls) is the area's most impressive natural wonder. If you visit the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec before you go, the sight will look familiar: Montmorency has long been a popular subject for local painters. Think Niagara is impressive? The cascade here is a full 99 feet higher—272 feet to the Horseshoe Falls' 173 feet. In winter, spray from the falls freezes into a hill at its base, known as the Sugarloaf, and snowshoes are available for rent if you want to explore the nearby trails. In the summer, there's a zip line for those in search of an adrenaline bump. Year-round, a cable car carries passengers to the top of the falls, providing bird's-eye views en route."

Beautiful area. We parked up top. They told us when we got tickets that the parking was included so that was good. I thought I had seen somewhere that it was also $12. We enjoyed the grounds, the bridge, doing a hike in the area and the stairs. Parking was pretty busy as there wasn’t a lot of space up top. The trail on the other side of the bridge that leads you up river was awesome - peaceful and quite enjoyable. Can stay on the trail or take the shelf alongside the river. Ran into a long time resident who had given us that tip to go down to the river. Also found myself thinking that you could save admission by parking on the other side of the river across the other side of the bridge that goes upstream. The stairs are a good workout!

You can’t visit Quebec City without coming here. Absolutely my favorite thing to see. It’s GIANT and beautiful. Loved getting up close and embracing the mist coming off the falls. And it was fun to see the falls from different viewpoints.

Incredible impressions of the waterfall are so beautiful. There is a way out both from the top to the bridge and from below, under the waterfall. Under the waterfall is very damp from spray. There is a zip line. Very beautiful.Types and power of the waterfall along with Niagara waterfall

Very good tourist attraction that is well designed but will be even better in 2026 when all the groundwork and landscaping is completed. Don't let this stop you going this year. There's parking a plenty too.

Easily a few hours of enjoyment can be spent here. The falls are spectacular with many viewing points. The ziplines across the falls are exhilarating so much fun. Be aware the falls are loud when walking over the suspension bridge.

The Monterency Falls is totally worth a visit. You could easily spend 2-3 hours here. Bring walking shoes! “Montmorency Falls is a majestic waterfall located in Quebec City, Canada, boasting a height of 83 meters (272 feet), making it taller than Niagara Falls. The falls are situated within Montmorency Falls Park, offering visitors various ways to experience the scenery, including a suspension bridge, a cable car, and hiking trails.”

Complicated to get around, guy at the gate needs to provide more info. We didn’t realize there was a top level and a bottom level that are accessed separately and there’s nothing much at the bottom, there is an additional fee for the tram, lots of construction up top so that kind of ruined the gardens, the suspension bridge is amazing as well as the walkway from the upper parking to the falls lookout. If you’re up for a real workout-try the stairs! Not me! We didn’t realize drive over a tiny wooden bridge to the secondary parking lot which was really cool. Will go again if ever in the area after construction is over. More signage would be very helpful to help people get around.

The waterfall is impressive but in my opinion is pricey for what you get. At least if your only purpose is sightseeing. When you enter the parking we paid 35 CAD for 2 people and if you want to use the gondola to get up to the top of the fall we paid another 30 CAD. Exists the possibility of going up using stairs. There is a shop and a coffee shop.
