"Sample Organic Mezcal You can find Cuish brand mezcal in a few establishments in Oaxaca city, but head to their own tasting bar located on the outskirts of the city center to learn what this brand stands for. They offer mezcal that is artisanally produced from several different varieties of wild agave, including the one for which they're named. This is a bohemian haven, and besides sampling the different mezcals, you may also enjoy an art exhibit or concert on the weekends. Diaz Ordaz 712, Centro Oaxaca (951) 516-8791"

"No imbibable is as closely associated with Oaxaca as mezcal, and a sampling of two or three Oaxacan mezcales is a wonderful way to experience the diverse flavors of the local terroir." - María Ítaka

"This is one of the first quality mezcal bottle shops I ever visited, way back in 2009. Cuish founder Felix Hernández Monterrosa and his family have been involved in the mezcal biz for generations. Today the group has two locations: an extremely comprehensive two-floor mezcalería near the Central de Abastos market and a small bottle shop in Centro on Macedonio Alcalá. The mezcalería, while slightly outside the touristy heart of downtown Oaxaca, is absolutely worth a visit. Monterrosa has one of the best collections of mezcal out there, and because of his graphic arts background, he’s created some very beautiful handmade mezcal gift boxes that are available to take home. I love the productions from Berta Vásquez in San Baltazar Chichicapam, as well as Francisco García Leon and Agustín Guendulain Maya, both from different parts of Miahuatlán." - Niki Nakazawa

We had a great time here! Evelin was amazing and so were the mezcals! They also brought some great snacks. The craft beers were also surprisingly great.

Came here to taste and buy some mezcal and we were treated so nicely! We had attempted to do the same earlier in the day and got a cold shoulder! Here the young guy behind the bar gave us a free taste of 3 mezcals and was so kind and bubbly! He did everything he could to help despite our language barrier! Would highly recommend coming here and getting a taste and buy some quality products!

The first time I stopped by around 8pm when Google said it would be open but it wasn’t. The area feels a little sketchy at night because it’s far out of the way and not many people were out. That all said, I went back another day in the afternoon and was treated to a nice tasting. The woman working there was very friendly and was able to explain a lot of things to me in English. Not quite as in depth and customized as Mezcaloteca but I strongly recommend coming here as a follow up. The space is very cool as well!

Visited twice during my trip to Oaxaca. Nice variety of quality mezcals, was able to taste several before purchasing bottles to take home. Roberto was an excellent source of information and taught me much about the plants used in production, the processes and equipment involved, and the history of mezcal. Very friendly staff, chill environment and a great place to get away from the tourists and drink mezcal with locals.

One of the better mezcaleria's in Oaxaca in my opinion. Knowledgeable staff who provides a story of all the different producers who are a part of the collective. Beautiful space as well. Hang out here for a few hours, buy some mezcals to take home. They sell small boxes with a sample of a few that makes a great gift.

Some of the most unique, delicious mezcal in Oaxaca and on the planet. Cuish uses varieties of agave that no one else uses, creating some of the most unique flavor profiles anywhere. Awesome ambiance, and great service from Gavino. Oh, and they have craft beer, too!
