Shops with specialty donuts are a dime a dozen these days. Everyone seems to have a specialty brioche donut. Just within where I live, there's at least 3 that I know of. So, why did I end up coming here? Simple. Cereal and milk.
I love this particular flavor for anything. Milkbar has this flavor for soft serve and milk shake (Unfortunately, they didn't even last a year, so I couldn't go here). Thankfully, Mello has some donuts with this flavor. I was curious. Also, I watched a few vlogs and all of them had this one as their favorite. The curiosity got to me, so I put it on my list. Thank goodness!
Even though I picked up some pastries at New Town bakery right before, I still had to get a few flavors. While they didn't have Cookies and Cream, they did have not only the aforementioned Cereal and Milk, but also strawberry cream, lemon cream, and vanilla cream. I wanted to try more, but I'm only one person here. LOL!
Let's start with that Cereal and Milk flavor (or is it Milk and Cereal? LOL). This might be the best donut I have ever eaten. Period. Yes, it's THAT good! If you are one of those people that likes donuts, but feels they can be sometimes "too sweet," then rest assured. While there is cream in this donut, it's definitely not too sweet. This helps, because the cereal coating might be a little sweet, but the sweetness will all be offset. The other donuts I got were all delicious, as well, and also not cloyingly sweet. The donut itself was pillow-y soft. There is literally nothing negative I could say about these donuts. Even if they were $20 each, I would say these were worth it! If I had just one more day in Vancouver, I would have definitely came back.
Service was great. The ladies working the counter were super friendly and helpful. Prices weren't absurd. The only thing I wish is that they had tables and chairs to sit down. They do have a restroom available, which is a definite plus for me since I was walking around Chinatown and there was no public restroom in sight (unless you sit down at a restaurant. However, I was waiting for Phnom Penh to open).
