I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the past ten years, and it never disappoints. The waiter recommended the spicy rigatoni vodka, and it was outstanding—better than what I’ve had at some of the famous Italian restaurants in NYC. I also tried the pumpkin spice hot chocolate, which was the perfect drink especially if you prefer something that’s not overly sweet. Overall, the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere is consistently excellent, and I can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.

My friend highly recommended the mac and cheese and so I had to try it out. The mac and cheese was good, but I found it perhaps too rich ? I am not sure what cheese they used, but it felt like velvetta. It was not bad, and was quite good - just not up to expectations at the price point. I think in the future I'd try it with spicy sauce on-top if they have it. Service was great. Space was great.

One of the coolest places i have ever been is Max Brenner on Broadway, Manhatten. It's only a 2-minute walk from Union Sq. I have been there several times to buy dark chocolate powder and pastery. This is a restaurant, chocolate bar with a chocolate shop. Chocolate comes in many forms, including desserts, cakes, pastries, powders, added to cocktails, or served on its own, so you can dip your fruit or marshmallows into it. They also provide a mini flame for toasting marshmallows. Chocolates are sold in beautiful shapes and packaging. A very friendly, clean, and beautiful place to hold a party or celebrate some occasion with family, friends, or colleagues. I definitely recommend going there taking subways or bus. You will love hanging around the area.

This is the fifth time I’ve been coming to this restaurant and it’s always amazing. Last night I came with a friend to grab some dinner I would like to thank Ian P For doing an outstanding job. He was very funny and a great waiter. Will definitely be coming here again.

Although there are some non chocolate menu items, this restaurant is really all about some of the best and most unusual chocolate items, things like white chocolate pancakes (my favorite item)I have ever had. Customer service is good. The decor is very nice. Prices are high but in line with other Manhattan upscale restaurants.

Came here for my son’s graduation brunch. We were quickly seated as there were not many people in attendance at the restaurant. The server was amazing, he was very attentive, continued to check up on our table and ensure we had everything we needed. As an appetizer, we had spinach artichoke which was delicious. My oldest son ordered the brenner burger with an egg and he stated it was so good. The rest of the table has pasta Alfredo with salmon and shrimp, it was absolutely delicious. Me and my son’s dad also had drinks. The boozy lemonade was a bit tart but still good and the mimosa was really good as well as the margaritas. Overall the experience was great. Thank you

Food was OK, but if you've been to Australia and had it there, this isn't the same menu - didn't think it was half as good as Oz. Our waiter was good though. They also have a non dessert menu if you don't want sweet things. Food: - Cookie - Brownie Sunday - Strawberry Crepe

I recently visited Max Brenner's Union Square and tried a variety of dishes: the burger, pizza, and Philly cheesesteak. Each one brought something unique to the table. The burger was juicy, with a perfectly toasted bun and melted cheese, accompanied by crispy waffle fries and a tangy dipping sauce that took it up a notch. The pizza, topped with pepperoni and plenty of melted cheese, was satisfying with a deliciously soft and chewy crust. The Philly cheesesteak was packed with tender beef, grilled onions, and gooey cheese, making it a comfort food classic. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience, with each dish crafted with care and flavor. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you're looking for a fun twist on some classic favorites!

This is definitely a great spot to gather with a big group of friends to celebrate something. There's a lot of seating and an upstairs as well. Our server was nice and helped us with giving us ideas. The churros tasted stale and the chocolate wasn't as deep as we thought. The chocolate only filled the first circular layer and was quite shallow but the dessert did get the job done. There was also a mini flame for toasting marshmallows but there wasn't any pieces of graham crackers to enjoy the marshmallows with. Probably wouldn't order the chocolate set again but this was a fun experience.

Haven't been here in awhile but not sure why! If you are a chocolate lover, this is mandatory to dine at! From coffees to lunches to desserts, it's got chocolate covered! The fav for this visit was the churros and the dips! Dark chocolate & raspberry combination was delicious! Service was excellent and restaurant nicely decorated and clean as well! Enjoy!

We came here on a busy weekday evening and decided to get dessert to go. We tried the chocolate pizza which is like a s'mores pizza with bread instead of graham crackers. It was really sweet and satisfied the sweet tooth. We split the half among 4 people and we still had leftovers! The wait was not long and they were very friendly. We also checked out the gift shop while we were waiting. We were looking for a gift that did not have gluten but unfortunately this was not possible.

The food was really great! It's a heaven for chocolate lovers! The desserts were exceptional. First time at this place and the vibes were great. The service was good too, we were well taken care of. For a big group, would highly recommend a reservation prior.

I love this place and maybe all the stars were aligned that night. I was solo that night so I sat at the bar counter and was attended by a very friendly waitress. I honestly just want something to snack on and wasn't sure what to get. I did want a cocktail and she highly recommend the chocolate martini and OMG!!! It was so delicious and she was right. The cocktail glass was frosted with chocolate on the bottle and the drink came with this chocolate piece!! The restaurant is massive but I didn't concern myself with the rest of the place.

Who doesn't love chocolate? I know my children and I do. I came to celebrate my daughter's Birthday and although the chocolate was delicious, the food itself left a lot to desire. Small portions, not cheesy enough and just wasn't satisfying but the customer services was great and so was all the rich indulging chocolate. It's very expensive but I'd love to go for just a bunch of chocolate lol.

Max Brenner is known for its delectable desserts but the main course blew me away as well. Servers were attentive and I liked that we were seated in an area that wasn't too crowded with other patrons. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The steak was a really great cut, cooked to specifications, and also drenched in a delicious creamy sauce. The standout was actually the onion rings with the white chocolate dipping sauce. Don't knock it till you've tried it! When I read the description I was extremely skeptical but upon first bite I realized I had nothing to fear. What a unique dipping sauce! I'm a big fan of crepes and Nutella and the selection of desserts did not disappoint.

Service is nice and the ambiance feels like a fun chocolate factory. But we did not enjoy our experience. We ordered hot chocolate to go. Took over 20min and it was tepid chocolate for us?

My friends and I were in search for a good dessert spot in the city... it's kinda crazy there aren't many that are open past 8pm on a Saturday night, except for good ole dependable Max Brenner. Good and friendly service. Checked in on us and were very prompt fulfilling our requests! My friends and I ordered two of the Classic chocolate fondues, which was perfect to share amongst 6 people. A little pricey for what it is, but I appreciate they let us spend time there and not feel rushed through the dining experience. To be warned, the upper level is for large parties - families and young kids. It was quite loud and we overhead a birthday song every 20 minutes. Can get very noisy and not the most fun hearing kids scream and throw tantrums, but also we couldn't be picky. A decent experience, and ya get what you pay for here. I liked the way my friend described it: Max Brenner's vibes are a mix of the Cheesecake factory and iHop (at least that upstairs level).

Max Brenner had a pop-up store in Bryant Park for the Christmas season. I stopped in to do some shopping. They had a few samples that were delicious. I purchased a few Christmas gifts and one Small chocolates item for myself. There were varying price ranges for the spending conscience. My favorite thing I purchased was the hot chocolate. OH MY, was it delicious! I highly recommend it. If you're looking for some original chocolate items, look no further. Bonus, the staff were friendly and helpful.

I came in for dessert and it was fantastic! They really don't miss on the chocolate items on the menu! Also, the table next to us ordered Mac n cheese and it looked incredible!

We loved this place when we lived here, and my kids love it as tourists. Definitely a must-visit with kids! We got the European fondue (highly recommend it for first-timers). It's huge, so definitely share. The waffle steak and cheese was really good, and the fries were good as well. The hazelnut milkshake was also good.

The flagship store in the heart of Union Square is where everyone goes to enjoy Max Brenner. This is the only location where you can dine in and shop.. the other locations in NYC are shop only. Highly recommend making reservations online as it is very popular and may be hard to get a timeslot. Desserts are delicious here - chocolate fondue to share, eskimo and the chocolate martinis are all good options. Staff is friendly and helpful and always offer a sample of one of the Max B chocolate items. The chocolates here are awesome - such a variety to choose from and great as gifts.. Often shop here for Max chocolate gifts for friends especially for the holidays. Most popular and always sold out during the holidays are the Pure White Chocolate Thins...they are sooo good! Only 5 wafers inside but purely delicious. They do come in Dark, Milk and White chocolate. Overall, prices have gone up over the years. The Marbles, caramelized pecans, cookie max, pralines, etc are all good - cannot go wrong with any of the choices. I have tried many of them. Max Brenner gift sets online for purchase and sending - glad they have added that the last 2 years... so much easier than buying in the store then shipping.. However, only certain items are available online. You definitely cannot go wrong with anything you buy as long as one makes sure of any nut allergies for gift recipients. Happy chocolate indulgence!

The chocolate here is so delicious they have lot of choices i will be going back to try more from the menu I ordered like a chocolate fondue sampler it came with white chocolate my fav some fruit marshmallows cookies and cakes so yummy

I remember passing by Max Brenner all the time thinking it was a fancy place with bougie, rich chocolate, but walking in, it gave the vibes of Applebee's. It definitely doesn't help that I came here on a weekend and it was PACKED. Nevertheless, we were able to get seated right away. They put as many tables as possible in the dine-in area which made it feel very claustrophobic and uncomfortable. The waiters passing by kept bumping into my chair and the lady next to us sitting in the booth couldn't even get out because of how our table was placed. Onto the self-proclaimed "best hot chocolate in NY"...I ordered the hazelnut hot chocolate with oat milk. I appreciate that they have alternative milks. It took 15 minutes for them to prepare the hot chocolate, but we were not in a rush. If you are expecting a thick and creamy hot chocolate, prepare to be disappointed. There are a lot of other chocolate shops in NYC that do hot coco better. Overall I was super disappointed by the quality and ambiance. No issues with the service. I'd imagine this to be a good late night spot if you are craving desserts.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my son for my birthday and the experience truly made my day. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. I appreciated that the waiter was able to provide detailed allergy information and alternative recommendations. It ensured my son was able to enjoy himself just as much as I did. I loved my crepe and it was so filling! I was thoroughly impressed with the presentation of the food. Thankfully we didn't have to wait when entering the establishment and had a great view from our seats. We visited the gift shop afterwards and the staff was so helpful in selecting a gift for his teacher and even offered free samples. I love this place!

I've been wanting to come to MB for years and finally made my way on Christmas Day. So happy they were open. I made reservations but it was also easy to walk in. I decided to try the infamous chocolate martini and it did not disappoint. It was delicious !! And also strong. For my meal, I had the Brenner burger. Also delicious. They didn't give a lot of fries ( which I didn't mind) but if you're a fry lover you'd probably be disappointed. As for dessert I opted for the chocolate cake with the desert shooter, ice cream and fruit. I also got the infamous hot chocolate. Everything was delicious. This is a great winter/ fall restaurant and I can't wait to visit again !

Came post dinner to relive high school nostalgia from many many years ago. We were a party of 3 and were thankfully seated right away. The service was extremely slow - we had to ask multiple times just to get water for our table. Our food also took a very long time. I ordered a Hazelnut Hot Chocolate, which never got made until I alerted our server, and he ended up going behind the counter to make it for me instead. The hot chocolate itself was extremely rich and sweet that I couldn't even finish it at all. The Strawberries and Crème waffle was fine, also very sweet. The chocolate bits that came with it were the best part, but honestly nothing special. Not sure what happened to the quality of the place. It used to be better many years ago, but over time, my experience has unfortunately gotten worse, plus the menu is overpriced. I'd opt for other meal/dessert options in the area.

I've heard of this spot being pretty popular so I wanted to give their hot chocolate a try to see if it was all the hype. I got a small milk chocolate marshmallow hot chocolate for takeout. They have a separate counter for takeout and then another area for the actual restaurant. For a small it was $6 before tax which is pretty pricey for the size and quality I received. It was pretty sweet and watery, however missing that rich thick chocolate consistency I typically look for in hot chocolate. The service was a bit slow and it took about 15-20 minutes to get my hot chocolate after ordering. This cup definitely ranks lower on my list of hot chocolates.

We switched eagerly to the desert and got the chocolate heart cake which is filled with molten hot fudge inside the cake similar to a lava cake and we got some strawberry and icecream on the side as well to complement it The service and staff were excellent

Sit-down dessert restaurant. The wooden tables have candles, and there's even an upstairs area. Shared the skillet chocolate chip cookie ($18). It was a massive warm gooey cookie with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and a milk chocolate drizzle. The ice cream complimented the cookie really well, and I liked the warm gooey center, but the outside had that hardness that I don't like. It was also milk and I prefer dark. Not what I'd order again, but I'd gladly return to real life Willy Wonka's chocolate factory

Service was good, but the hot chocolate is overhyped. We had the original and the salted caramel and they both were overly sweet and not drinkable. There are a lot of sweets options here so a good spot for dessert. The dessert options list is extensive. We had a chocolate dessert for 2 and it was ok but not mind blowing.

Under-WHELMED. So, they are known for their "world famous hot chocolate"... Or something of that nature but from my experience, I didn't have that encounter to have my perspective aligned with that statement. My serving of hot chocolate with a marshmallow ($8.44) was overbearingly sweet. It was definitely a struggle to finish this drink. I must say, after taking a sip, I wished I didn't purchase. Maybe I had a bad batch? But, I'm not certain. At least I can say I tried it *shrugs*.

t'll take A LOT for me to not give Max Brenner less than five stars. Every visit is filled with great service, exceptional food, and iconic drinks. I always order the "Iconic" Chocolate Martini and it's amazing. The chocolate drizzle around the inside of the glass is a welcomed treat, after you're done with the drink. We shared the Strawberry Crepe, with vanilla ice cream, and it was delectable. The warm chocolate syrup added to the total enjoyment of this great entree and I highly recommend it. Take time and visit Max Brenner. You will leave with sweet memories of great food and return for more.

While they continue to deliver in their dessert offerings and I appreciate their revolving seasonal creations, it seems the overall food quality has experienced a slight decline. That said, whenever I'm in the mood for a rich, chocolatey treat in the area, this remains my top choice. I've dined here for brunch, dinner, and even just for a quick dessert cocktail. Their portion sizes are consistently generous and very shareable. I've sampled nearly every dessert on their menu, and my top picks are definitely the chocolate pizzas. However, I must admit that the baked cookies in the skillet, both the oreo and chocolate chip left something to be desired. The chocolate chunk pizza is delightful and decadent, and I love the variety of toppings and the option for half-and-half creations. The seasonal dessert martinis and spiked shakes always impress me with their flavor and creativity. The customer service is consistently good as well, and I've noticed that the wait times have significantly reduced compared to when they first opened. If we were only talking desserts this place would def get a 4 so still very much worth a visit!

Omg, Charles and Yasmine are AMAZING!!!!! They are the absolute best part of this restaurant (and the food was good but they were better!!!) They made my son's birthday the most special day. We came in on a random Wednesday and they showered him with attention and special options. They were so kind and caring and really went above and beyond. If you are celebrating a special occasion this is the prefect spot! Thank you Charles and Yasmine, you made a little boy's day!

I have always wanted to try this place out and heard great things about it. I was very impressed! The food was good! The drinks were excellent! I had a dark chocolate martini and a milk chocolate martini. Our waitress was extremely friendly, and she gave some fantastic recommendations. Everything was delicious, and we didn't order dessert because we were so full. I do want to try the fondue. I can't wait to go back. My only complaint is that the appetizer menu is small, so they should add more options.

Max brenners is such a nostalgic spot. We were craving some chocolate after a Broadway show and decided to go with the classic chocolate fondue & it hit the spot. There's so much more on the menu I haven't tried yet but this will always be a great spot to satisfy your chocolate cravings. Ambiance is intimate and service was great!

Okay so this place I'm a little iffy, not specifically for me I would say. This is a nice plate for a date, with very cute scenery on the inside. I don't like the seating selection however. Wherever you're seated at feels super tight and congested. The tables are very tiny with not alot of room. Chairs are all up on each other, so I wish there was more space. Now for the food, I REALLY enjoyed the Mac & cheese, the cheese pull was PULLING. Very flavorful & delightful, the dry rubbed wings. We're far, juicy & tender. But I was very disappointed with the cheesesteak as I love them. But I do know they're not specifically known for the menu item which is understandable. I wish the cheesesteak had more season & flavor. The fries were perfect and crispy with a great sauce. We had a sweet inspired cocktail which tasted pretty good. I'm not a chocolate person but I loved what they did there. For a cozy warming date in the winter. This is a good spot to try out. For me, I give this a 7 out of 19 overall!!

Omg....we have to come back. We stopped by for some martinis but we need to come back for dinner because I heard it's great. It was so clean and open, such a cute restaurant. The service from one of the hostesses was amazing, she brought us a little surprise of chocolates & explained what each of them were, so sweet, I wish I would've asked for her name. I think there could be more training on the drink mixing, but it was still good. There wasn't enough the first batch & the server made more to fill the glass but sometimes it can throw off the taste of the drink. They were super nice & checked on us. I'll be going back!

A must do dessert experience for any one with a sweet tooth. The experience, presentation and food service are excellent, however can be a bit busy, making the atmosphere a bit chaotic, but still enjoyable.

For a cozy, casual yet intimate experience, Max Brenner is the place to go. Their menu go from pastas to burgers and while the food is good and very flavorful, they really shine in their chocolates. The hot chocolate was divine and velvet and rich. I'd recommend the hot cocoa in dark chocolate as it has nice mouthfeel and well balanced taste. The chocolate fondue is a crowd pleaser and definitely a must have at the table. The cocktails were also good. The service is also noteworthy with very good recommendations and an attentive wait staff.

My wife and I came here with two of our friends for dessert last month and we loved it! I totally wish the Bethesda, Maryland location near us did not close down before I ended up together with my wife but was glad to come here. The restaurant was busy but we got a table for four right away. The restaurant is moderately noisy and suitable for friends, families, or dates. The server was friendly though we had to get her attention for the check at the end since our friend had to grab his train. My wife and I shared the Max Famous Chocolate Mess Party for Two which was a delicious and romantic way to share a dessert sampler. To drink we shared the White Chocolate Russian and the Mexican Spicy Hot Chocolate. The drinks were both amazing but it would have been nice if they had an option to spike up the hot chocolate. After dinner my wife, one of our friends, I checked out the store where we got chocolate samplers. The staff member at the store was very friendly and we saw a chocolate machine there. We would love to come back another time in New York and try their Philly, Israel, or Australia locations although ultimately they need to bring one back to Bethesda or elsewhere in our area that lacks a chocolate cafe.

This was such a random find. I wanted to grab a quick bite and happened to come across this shop. So ran in and just got a chocolate chip cookie and it was so good. So much better than some of the more famous cookie shops in NY.

Recently visited Max Burner on a date, and unfortunately, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. The food was subpar, and despite trying a variety of dishes (including some of my date's), nothing really stood out. It's a shame because the staff was incredibly nice and attentive. If you're looking for a spot with great service, Max Burner delivers, but if it's fantastic food you're after, you might want to explore other options.

The food , drinks and desserts are absolutely delightful, and the servers are incredibly kind. Plus, the ambiance is quite pleasant.

Italian Thick $7 I am not a fan of this hot chocolate. It's overly sweet, made with milk chocolate and doesn't taste chocolatey, I am very disappointed!! We had few sips and decided to throw the rest away, that's how much we hate it. It just taste like a thicken version of McDonalds hot chocolate. We had LA Burdick's chocolate just last week and it's way better!

The perfect dessert place. Everything that we eat at order was sooo delicious! Our server Daniel was very nice and knowledgeable about the food. Service was quick. The place was lit intimately and tables were spaced adequately. The churros fondue portioned for sharing. Will definitely try other dishes whenever I'm back in Ny.

Primarily went here to try the hot chocolate. Unfortunately my hot chocolate wasn't hot. I got it with whipped cream. Too much whipped cream so I had to scoop it off to even get to the chocolate. It was same with the Nutella waffles we got. I thought it was Nutella based on what our waiter said but it's Nocella. The whipped cream overpowered the waffles. You get two small waffles. They were no bigger than the palm of my hand. Sweetness overload and not in a good way. Definitely not worth $18.

I would think twice about coming here for their infamous hot chocolate. The aesthetics are super nice and the inside is cute but the hot chocolate is subpar. I ordered the Oreo hot chocolate and it was just regular hot chocolate with Oreo pieces floating at the top. My friend ordered the hazelnut hot chocolate and it was not mixed at all. Once she finished, she was able to see that the actual chocolate and hazelnut pieces were sitting at the bottom of the mug. The service was very strange, we ordered our hot chocolates immediately and waited quite a bit of time to get them but it was not busy inside at all. Once the waiter came, he spilled the hot chocolate all over my pants and on my friend's shoes. He was very apologetic but it was quite the experience to have hot chocolate everywhere. He immediately placed an order for another one and I received it in less than 2 minutes. Both of the hot chocolates were comped due to the spill but I wouldn't visit again. Tastes like swiss miss with random pieces of topping in it. Not sure if we went on an off day but I don't think their hot chocolate was worth the $6-$7.

I dined at Max Brenner Restaurant in Union Square and enjoyed the food, but was disappointed with the service. It's concerning that some New York waiters fail to fulfill customer orders, neglecting a fundamental aspect of their job. I experienced it here as well. Tipping has become burdensome for customers, as it shouldn't be their responsibility to supplement wages. Although the waiter still received a tip, it's important to address this issue. Implementing a simple checklist could prevent such oversights. For example, I had to request my hot water again despite the restaurant not being busy. I'd like to note that I visited another Max Brenner location some time ago. The positive aspects were that there was no wait, and the food was served promptly. It specialized in chocolate. This location is spacious, making it ideal for groups, and conveniently situated across from the movie theater. The ambiance was okay. Despite this, my overall experience was positive, and I would be open to returning in the future.

My BIL is from Australia and always raaaves about Max Brenner. So we decided to come visit during our trip to NYC! I didn't know what to expect, and I was delighted once I entered in. Seeing the chocolate run through the pipes and seeing the cozy ambiance was everything we could've asked for! The hostess and waiters were very kind and helpful in deciding what to get. There are too many yummy options on their menu!

I was walking by and decided to try the "best hot chocolate in NYC" - I'm not sure if it's the best, but I wouldn't be surprised! It was a quality super rich and dense drinking chocolate. I just did to-go counter service, but it was so cute inside I would love to come back and get the fondue. It was a little pricey, but totally worth it. Even though I only got a small, I was unable to finish it because the richness of the hot cocoa was so filling.

I ordered the Dulce De Leche including the following ingredients: dark rum (meyers), Irish cream, caramel (a grand amount), white & milk chocolate sourced from fresh and natural cocoa beans! My wife has a White Russian and it was phenomenal! We will be back. Thank you manhattan.
