Nestled in the historic Martha Washington Hotel, Marta serves up crispy Roman-style pizzas and inventive Italian fare in a lively, open-kitchen space.
"Located in the historic Martha Washington Hotel, Marta shows NYC how traditional thin-crust pizza and Italian dishes should be done. Featuring rustic wood-burning ovens, Marta illustrates a few creative twists on the menu with an energetic vibe. This restaurant has an open-kitchen layout that culminates a warm meet-up for friends and family." - Laundry Service
"The Redbury Hotel, a Manhattan landmark home to Marta and Maialino (vicino), closed on August 25, after the building announced it would house asylum seekers." - Luke Fortney
"Marta, a pizzeria, opened in 2014 when the hotel was the Martha Washington: The building was purchased for $158 million in 2015 and rebranded as the Redbury the following year." - Melissa McCart
"Marta is a pizzeria from Union Square Hospitality Group located at the bottom of The Redbury New York hotel in Nomad. The pies here are Roman-style, and because of their thin, crispy crusts, you can eat a whole one by yourself if you're really hungry. Go for the margherita or the meat-heavy butcher pizza with soppressata, guanciale, and sausage. The dining room is spacious, with high ceilings and tons of seating, but our favorite place to eat is at the counter in front of the two huge wood-burning ovens—especially during their “pizza hour” from 3pm and 6pm when you can get half-price pies and drink specials. photo credit: Alice Gao" - Kenny Yang
"Union Square Cafe’s popularity paved the way for the whole Meyer empire. In standard New York fashion, the original location closed due to a rent hike. It reopened a few blocks away in 2016, and by then, the company had other favorites like Gramercy Tavern, Marta, Maialino, and The Modern." - ByAli Francis
