"Hygge—in Rome? With Marigold, you sure bet. The restaurant, bakery and microbrewery has a Scandi sensibility with simple tables, beautiful homemade pottery, and wildflower arrangements. Owners Sofie Wochner and Domenico Cortese are adherents to local, sustainable food, and whether you're here for brunch, lunch or a simple breakfast pastry, the food is like episodic poetry. Like the design, the menu is minimalist—just few ultra-seasonal dishes—so order whatever you see." - Maresa Manara

"This Danish Italian cafe is a popular spot for locals to come in the morning to work, have lunch, or a rare-for-Rome brunch on the weekends. They serve things like pastries, omelets, and salads, natural wine, and daily sandwich and pasta specials. Grab a Danish carnival bun and a spot at the long communal table and practice your Italian with somebody who lives in the neighborhood." - Gillian Mcguire, Team Infatuation

"Marigold is a next-gen Roman restaurant: sleek Scandinavian design and open communal dining areas. Chefs Sofie Wochner and Domenico Cortese fuse two cuisines, calling upon Wochner’s history as a Danish baker and Cortese’s work in the kitchens of Italy. Together, they have created a kind of Italian hygge , focusing on offerings for brunch, lunch, and dinner that include handmade pastries and breads, locally foraged greens, and recrafted food waste in the form of sustainable “left-overs.” Because the kitchen's focus is super seasonal and local, the menu is pared down and very precisely curated."
So good I went twice. :D Really delicious cold brew (not served with ice by the way). Loved the breakfast menu as well as the weekend specials. Service was great and felt like I was very welcomed as a tourist.

Was here for brunch. it was a great coffee but the food could have been better and bit more exciting. The selcetion was a bit slim. The service was very good and so was the setting. Quite expensive.

Loved it. Table water goes a long way. Service was also polite and perfectly attentive. The view into the kitchen is intriguing and although the space is bare its relaxing and nice to sit in. The cabinet items all look good enough to add on after a full breakfast order. My experience of which was only good, variety on the menu and a reasonable portion size for the price point. Coffee tasted of single origin - fruity (but could be wrong).

The coffee is excellent and the food is delicious! The service is nice but it gets very busy so inevitably it gets slow. Worth the wait though—they usually move pretty quick and you can also order coffee while you wait to get seated which is super nice.
Coffee:
- flavorful!
Food:
- best sourdough bread I’ve had in Rome! It’s incredibly flavorful and perfect by itself or alongside some butter and jam or fried eggs
- I don’t usually like omelettes but their vegetable cheese omelette completely converted me into an omelette person. Light and flavorful.
- Shakshuka was just okay. Nothing special and wasn’t too flavorful and not salty enough.
Overall: 100% worth the extra 10 minute bike ride down from the center of Rome
My one suggestion for improvement to management would be: when there’s a line of customers waiting to pay, please stop making small talk with every person at the front!

my favorite coffee shop in the entire Rome! Super delicious specialty coffee with a very third-wave hip vibe (which is close to impossible to find in the otherwise very conservative city of Rome).
They roast their own coffee and you can buy beans for home.
Staff is very nice and attentive. The barista we spoke to had perfect English, overall a very pleasant experience.

This place was a highlight of Rome. It offers an American breakfast with a nostalgic touch, but it's more than that. Every dish has great seasoning, fresh market ingredients, and well-composed flavors. We loved the Turkish eggs, babka French toast, and the omelette. The pancakes were okay but a bit dry and too firm, so I wouldn't recommend them.

Great spot for lunch. It is a bit outside of the touristy sections of Rome, therefore quieter.
Delicious food and beverages.
My roasted eggplant salad was tasty and the panzanella.

One of my favorite spots in Rome for a brunch. It was my Saturday ritual to go there before I moved out of Ostiense area. I will always keep coming back. Great cappuccino, great food choices, but the desert and pastries are the stars of the show. My go-to is their banana bread, perfection! I love the uniqueness of this place. Highly recommend
