Yummy Yummy in my Tummy! I don’t know too much about soul food but I am deeply in knowledge of food that touches my soul. I found this place because I was around the area and wanted something different. I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot and tried a bit of everything. Those crab cakes were crack. Oxtail was good. Jerk chicken was fire! Black eye peas, mac and cheese, some stuff from the bottom, stuff around the corner, back, front, upside down… all was good and different from your local take out.

I've been going to Manna's for 6 years whenever I want comfort food - a soul food place that's not a tourist trap. Had the jerk chicken with a bit of everything else from the hot bar and salad bar. There was stuffing that day, so I ate an early thanksgiving platter. Had a homemade lemonade. Total : $20 Not bad for a filling and yummy meal. I'm not sure I like the seating section at their new location; all the tables are under a huge tent on the sidewalk...just afraid it might be cold in winter. Most locals take their food to go, so I guess I'll bring an extra sweater when I go back. I think they still serve seafood boil, but I was in the mood for something else that day. I like the staff; discreet and friendly. I like that they give back to the community by organizing meals for the less privileged.

Pretty good food, especially since it’s buffet style in that you can choose from a lot of options and just pay based on the weight. The food is delicious and a tad expensive, but not for New York. They had great options for hot food (though I’m not sure how well the fried options hold being in the warming pan) and had a good number of options in the salad bar. The desserts looked absolutely amazing and there’s a pretty good selection of drinks as well.

1st time visiting and probably going again tonight! Happy to see a security guard out front. The panhandlers easily deter me. But once I saw it was good I went in with no problem. The food was really good. I had rice, Mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, baked chicken, and can’t remember if I missed something. They have many options and a lot to choose from. Also, I love that they’ve done a lot for the community. My new favorite place😍 For two people it came to $38 and glad they didn’t have lines to add a tip.

Wow, this restaurant has bold flavors and they don’t hold back. The only gripe I have is that the roasted chicken that I got was incredibly dry and tough. However, it was packed with so much flavor that it was OK when paired with, their really delicious Dirty rice and their sweet green beans. The rice had sautéed peppers, spices, and sausage. It was really soft and super flavorful. Do not pass up on their green beans. I thought I would not like it as I usually don’t care for the standard green beans. I get at American restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised to see that these were really sweet and juicy! Highly recommend. And as I mentioned at the beginning, their chicken was very tough and dry, but the flavor was there. I will give them a pass as it was pretty late at night, and that chicken probably was cooked earlier in the day.

This place wins for variety and taste. Everything was delicious, including the soul food served at the steam tables and the cold bar with salads, sushi and other chilled goodies. The staff is very friendly. I love that you can try so many soul food options quickly and affordably. The space is small and it’s a tight squeeze while you select the food to fill your plate. The outdoor seating area can accommodate about 25-30 people comfortably. While there’s no atmosphere, the taste of the food makes up for it.

Good food. Good people watching. Nice low-key, local staple to escape the tourists and enjoy a good meal.

The food is delicious. Oxtails, candied yams, Mac and cheese, etc. I would go back there for candied yams. There are so many options for everyone. It’s by the pound and can be pricey in the end so be careful how much you load up your plate.
