Day Trip No. 03 Harlem
Riverbank State Park
State / Provincial Park · Hamilton Heights
From Handpulled Noodle you just keep walking south. This park is great and huge and nice to walk around in to burn off szechuan peppercorns if you're planning on hopping on the train immediately or the right starting point to taking Riverside park down. If I were you I would grab a citibike (with the electric assist if possible) and jam down to the 70's where the train finally starts moving away from the coast.
The Handpulled Noodle
Chinese Restaurant · Hamilton Heights
I have eaten these noodles 50+ times and they have never been bad. 1 medium noodle dish and one fried dumpling order with a tea. Incredible.
The Oma Shop
Coffee Shop · Hamilton Heights
Haven't been but i hope this place is good. Hamilton Heights is such a great place to walk around and Ideally the people who own this are serving the community that made it that way alongside everyone else but it's impossible to know. Looks incredible and will have to go next time i'm in town. The waypoint on this map is wrong though so will have to check google
Hamilton Grange National Memorial
Historic Site · Hamilton Heights
The least interesting part of this park, mostly just a waypoint to start walking the park and the college. There is no season that this walk is not incredible. I've done it in heavy snow, downpours, at night (now) etc. and it's always great. Go halfway back down the park and then wind through the college and wonder why they built a literal castle to teach 18 year olds in
Mikey Likes It Ice Cream
Permanently Closed
Look I love this neighborhood for how quiet and beautiful everything is and if you have good ice cream along the way that's a bonus. Just zig zag between St. Nicholas and Fredrick Douglass all the way up to Hamilton's house.
Manna's Soul Food Restaurant - FDB
Southern / Soul Food Restaurant · Central Harlem
This is the Soul food you want it's cheaper than sylvias and Red Rooster and you get exactly what you want. Take it to the botom of St. Nicholas Park and load up on calories for your walk
Uptown Gourmet
