"Wallpapered by doodled-on dollar bills and decorated with mythical horned vejigante masks native to the island (hence the translated name ‘The Three Horns’), Los 3 Cuernos steeped in local longevity. The one-roomed jukebox dive bar specializes in exotically flavored ‘chichaitos,’ shots made with Anisette liqueur and rum. Rivera suggests trying the Nutella or Guava. It’s a perfect first stop for a night out in Old San Juan."

Awesome Old San Juan alley bar! I have been to the SJ area a half a dozen times (usually for the day on a cruise, but also for a long weekend), and I always end up here at some point. Just off of Plaza Colón (which is long overdue for a post-colonial rebrand/update; I vote for Pedro Albizu Campos or Roberto Clemente), so it is just a short walk from the cruise terminal. Great mix of locals and tourists (and cruise crew members) and cheap Puerto Rican cervezas and drink/shot specials! The long narrow bar is wallpapered with dollar bills and decorated with Puerto Rican art. Pick up some street food from Plaza Colón (or a mofungo from Yeyos a few doors down) and stop in for a cold Medalla (or 3 or 5).

I absolutely LOVED this bar! It was soooo beautiful; not to mention, Miguel was the best bartender I’ve ever met!! He took great care of my bf and I for my 21st birthday this week! There are various shot flavors that will knock your socks off! Will be returning soon :)

This bar was pretty cool, the bartenders were nice and personable. I got the most basic of basic : vodka soda and a medalla, can't go wrong. Atmosphere is cool, they have a bucket of things to decorate dollar bills with and add them to the wall, we put a T-Shirt shaped dollar up. It's worth the stop :)

I had high hopes for Los Tres Cuernos, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The service was incredibly slow—even though the bar wasn’t that crowded, it took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks. Speaking of drinks, they were overpriced and poorly made. My cocktail tasted watered down, and the beer my friend ordered was flat. The atmosphere didn’t help either. The music was way too loud, making it nearly impossible to have a conversation, and the lighting was so dim we could barely read the menu. To top it off, the place felt unclean—sticky tables and a weird smell in the air. Overall, it was a disappointing night. There are much better options nearby. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to Los Tres Cuernos.

Los 3 Cuernos isn’t just a bar—it’s a rite of passage in Old San Juan. If you’re looking for a spot where the drinks are flowing, the atmosphere is electric, and the memories are as colorful as the walls, this is the place to be. Let’s start with the chichaitos—aka the reason you’ll never look at shots the same way again. These anise-infused rum shots come in flavors like tamarind, passionfruit, and coconut, and trust me, they’re dangerously delicious. You start with one, then suddenly you’re three flavors deep and debating which one’s the best (spoiler: they all are). The vibe? Perfectly chaotic in the best way. The walls are plastered with dollar bills signed by patrons, and the ceiling is decked out with vejigante masks that seem to cheer you on as you throw back another chichaito. It’s like being in a Puerto Rican carnival—if that carnival had amazing drinks and cool bartenders who make you feel like family. Speaking of the bartenders, they’re absolute legends. Friendly, funny, and always ready with another round or a story about the bar’s history. They’re part of what makes Los 3 Cuernos feel like more than just a place to grab a drink—it’s an experience. And if you need a break from the shots (or to soak them up), their sandwiches and Caribbean-style dishes hit the spot. Nothing fancy, just solid, satisfying food that pairs perfectly with the drinks and the vibe. Los 3 Cuernos is the kind of place where you go for a quick drink and end up staying for hours, making friends with strangers and laughing more than you have in weeks. It’s the heart of Old San Juan’s nightlife, and honestly, missing it would be your biggest regret. Cheers to an unforgettable time!

Favorite bar in all of PR so far. Always the nicest staff. They keep the drinks coming like no other. Thousands of artistic dollars on the walls. Great music and vibes. You gotta experience it. San Banito drink is fire!

What a great bar!! Awesome people! Awesome drinks! Giorgio and Tony were very accommodating and made me feel welcomed! Together with my whole family, we had a great time! Tony helped me get a dollar bill on the ceiling, signed by my family!! You must visit if your in old San Juan!! Don’t forget me Giorgio! I’ll be back!!

I went here on March 19th 2023 (2:00 AM). My 5 friends decided to go here since it was late. I really wanted to like it, but sadly I had the worst drink in my life here. A lot of stuff was out of stock that night so we all decided on the passion fruit paprika drink. Not a single one of us enjoyed the drink. It was *inedible*. It had no passion fruit flavor. 0 sweetness. I also specifically asked for no paprika in mine. They didn’t listen. I took one sip and ALL I tasted was bad smoke from the paprika flavor that was overdone. My friend described it as lead. All 6 of us ended up throwing away that drink full. It was a waste of money and time. I’m hesitant to give it a second chance 😞…

Yelp
The owner of Gracias Skate Shop recommended this spot for drinks and good vibes. I love the variety of chichaitos in different flavors and the artwork in the bar. Definitely stop by for a quick break or if you plan on exploring San Juan.

Tommy P.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and clientele (about half locals and half tourists) in a place that feels like a college bar. Buy a couple rounds for the next table: it's that kind of place, and you'll have a ball. I won't translate chichaitos, but they're little sweet flavored shots of rum and anise that are a big draw: ¡Con cuidado!

Stacey H.

Yelp
One of the hotel staff members told us she starts all of her best nights out with shots at 3 Cuernos (shout out to Estefania!), so that's exactly what we did on our first night out in San Juan. We heard this bar specialized in tasty shots called Chichaitos, made using anise liquor and rum. I don't know what we expected, but our expectations were blown way out of the water. The flavors were wild! But surprisingly - and dangerously- yummy! We tried many... MANY.. flavors over two visits and our favorites were Cookie Dough, choco pique (spicy Nutella), maní pique (spicy peanut) and both coffee flavors (cafe puya and cafe espresso). So so so cheap too! This is definitely a "first stop" kind of place. There's not much to do except chat with the staff and try out new flavors - and read the dollar bills stapled to the wall by past patrons. But I wouldn't skip it! It's one of a kind!

Parita A.

Yelp
Hole in the wall bar with a really neat atmosphere and decor, stopped in for a drink and happy we did!

Elsie P.

Yelp
Super dope bar in old San Juan. Great drinks. Mostly a younger crowd - like college students but diversifies later in the night.

Yamila D.

Yelp
The vibe here was great. Music and drinks what else can you ask for. When you walk in its kind of small but in the back there is a sitting area so you don't feel like you are on top of one another. With COVID I surely didn't want anyone on top of us. You have to try their made in house shots. We tried every flavor and some of them even twice. They were so good I ended buying a small bottle of the passion fruit flavor. I absolutely loved it here. If you want good cheap drinks and good vibe this is the place to be.

Christine E.

Yelp
Great bartenders, fun atmosphere, a little bit away from the other late night bars. Large variety of shots, good bottled beer selection and decent liquor choices. Nice vibes too.

Allison N.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Affordable drinks and fun place to be! Service was great and staff was friendly.

Jeff H.

Yelp
We visited the bar on a Saturday afternoon. The decoration and the concept and bartender are nice but the person who works security is the most rude and disrespectful we have seen. He apparently blew up over the 6 of us not putting our masks on fast enough between sips. It definitely ruined our day and the desire to visit that spot again because of the way it treated us. He needs some lessons on how to treat people and customers. After his temper tantrum he was eating food and not wearing mask at the entrance of the bar. Of course we are happy to follow the rules and do everything we can to minimize the spread of covid. As a group of reasonable people, happy to help and attempting to enjoy a Saturday afternoon, we were treated with inexcusable disrespect.

Roberto G.

Yelp
Hole in the wall bar but the service, atmosphere, personality, and drink prices more than make up for whatever this place my look like at first glance. I was pleasantly surprised with what I found here when I walked in. Had a great time and was amazed with how cheap the drinks were as well. 4 local beers (medalla light) and a Dewars (Scotch) was only $8!!!! Winner in my book Friendly people and great staff. I will definitely be returning.

Sierra Q.

Yelp
Best bar in Old San Juan! We ended our day in Old San Juan here and my boyfriend did not want to leave! We had so much fun with the bartenders and other customers.

Jeanine P.

Yelp
This place was super fun. Very chill with a jukebox type of situation. The drinks and shots were delicious. And they have sandwiches but make sure to get them early.

Carrie L.

Yelp
What a cool little bar! The walls are covered with $1 bills and the bartender gives you markers to color your own. They have the cheapest drinks in San Juan - $1 shots and $1 Medalla. While we were there several locals came in and the bartender was very friendly. Definitely give this place a try if you're in Old San Juan.

Tania V.

Yelp
This was sort of a surprise bar we found while walking around OSJ. It certainly looks more of a locals bar. They do advertise their $2 shots a lot and the bartender explained that these are actually made in house and come in a variety of flavors. My hubby and I each one and it was very good. This bar is a totally chill spot to come with a group of your friends and just hang out or maybe pregame before moving on to the next bar.

Joe M.

Yelp
Very fun bar and open late. Good for natives and tourists alike. He's be respectful to your bartender, bouncer, and fellow guests.

Dani F.

Yelp
Aye! Loved this damn place. Saw a sign about fresh lemonade from the door, which also can be made "hard", made us venture over. We walked in and were thrown off a bit cause its so quirky. Had all kinds of money that's written on all over the wall and its just funky as hell. We ordered from the cutest little bartender (cannot remember her name though) and took a seat near the window then my wife went towards the back of the bar and called me over to sit back there. Looked up and there were two signs with a bunch of different "chichaitos" flavors which loosely translates to "quickie". These are mini shots so we had a bunch! Dont do the cherry cause it takes like cough syrup but the rest are great. Strong as hell, go down quick and burnnnnnnnn. The spicy ones are absolutely outrageous! Ginger And lemon - stoopid!!! Don't forget the honey! I walked in with a cold & walked out clear as a whistle, at least for the first couple of hours. Definitely plan to go back next trip to old San Juan - fo sho!

Liz N.

Yelp
My husband and I went here 10 years ago when we visited OSJ. We are extremely happy it's still around. One of our fav dollar bills made it thru the Reno. By renovation we mean the place doubled in size from being ft wide to 23 ft wide. This is a local Sam Juan spot. You'll barely find tourists. Get a cheap medella and chicharritto shots.

Sarah W.

Yelp
Hole in wall bar frequented by locals. Our server at Cafe Puerto Rico pointed us in this direction last night. Chichaitos shots are a mix of white rum and anise liquor which are then flavored. List of flavors on board. Certain ones are singles, others are doubles. Hub and I hate anise/licorice flavored stuff, but we enjoyed a few of these shots....when in Puerto Rico...... Chased with a Medalla = refreshing

Jackie F.

Yelp
We really enjoyed it here! Amazing and unique drinks, highly recommend! We tried different flavored shots and they were all delicious! The bartender was super helpful in recommending us places to go and went out of his way to take pictures/videos of us.

K W.

Yelp
Really had a good time at this bar. We went when it wasn't too busy (really picks up around 11 PM) & bartenders were super cool, attentive, & informative when we didn't know what we wanted. Even when business was booming they still checked in frequently & made friendly conversation. As 2 younger females traveling alone, nobody harassed us or even tried to talk to us which was nice & the atmosphere was really comfortable. When one of the bartenders found out we were traveling from CA, he bought us drinks, which made it even better. All of the bartenders we saw spoke English & Spanish. The dollar bills on the wall are super fun & all you have to do is provide the dollar to get your own taped up somewhere. When it wasn't too busy, some guys were playing XBOX on the TV, & there was music playing the whole time we were there. There's an electronic jukebox as well.

Eddie C.

Yelp
Great place ! Drinks and shots are inexpensive, the atmosphere is crazy. You can put up your dollar bills with what ever you write on it !

Chad B.

Yelp
A very laid back place. Not crowded when we were there in the afternoon. Two of us got a few rounds: dos Magnas, dos Medallos, chichaitos, and ron for just over $20. With the help of the bartender, we decorated our dollar and put it on the wall. We would have stayed longer. We had to force ourselves to leave and go see more of San Juan.

Emily L.

Yelp
Second time to this bar. Previously, it was around the square and in a poorly lit, oddly painted locals bar, decorated with the masks used in Carnival. They've moved up the street to a locals bar that's poorly lit, oddly painted (with dollars on the walls) and decorated with masks from Carnival. Really the only change is location & that they are now closed on Mondays. They still have the $1 Medalla & chichaitos (amazing, but dangerous!) and cheap food. The music is really, really loud & it's hard to get a seat. This place is a must visit though every time we're in OSJ!!

Sophia B.

Yelp
Love this place! Visited Old San Juan with hopes to explore some of the historic sites and stopped by Los 3 Cuernos to grab ONE drink. Well, well...one drink turned into three big strong ones and I'm sure you've probably guessed we said screw exploring lol. We had the frozen Sangria. It's not your average sangria. Sweet but still pretty strong. Delicious! When we came another customer warned us that it had taken her 2hrs to finish. It came in a 16oz cup ,filled to the brim for $8. We went back for another and the bartender laughed as he got it, saying "Normally ppl don't get two!". By the end of the night, we knew why!! Lol The bar itself is pretty chill. A mixture of different music genres. Good vibes. Cool people (both locals & tourist) and the staff were super friendly. My friend had to make a supermarket run and the guy who was working the bar door was kind enough to take us to a local's market. I thought the decor was pretty cool too. Signed dollar bills are taped to the wall from different customers. Don't forget to ask for the basket of markers to leave your mark!

Matt J.

Yelp
As a couple of somewhat lost gringos we found this place to be really friendly with the cheapest beer. Thumbs up.

John N.

Yelp
Cheap cerveza. Bartender without an attitude, actually friendly. Cool atmosphere. Thumbs way up.

Patty R.

Yelp
Great Location, Must try the shots! Passion Fruit was amazing, Chichaitos. The masks on the ceiling are nice touch of the Puerto Rican Culture.

Irina D.

Yelp
Great place to spend your Friday night ;) The have a good bar there and service. You should try their chichaitos ;)

Mario A.

Yelp
What tf? What to the royal f.....Wow.... i was just here today... they have a sign for "reglas de la bellonera" or "jukebox rules" The chick behind the bar tells us "oh.. yeah.. there is no reggaeton and no bachata ... the owner doesnt like it... if it starts playing.. i have to hit the skip button"... what to the royal f!!!?? Chick behind the bar was cool about it. But she says "the owner is here today.. shes here almost everyday.. so if she gives me the signal.. i have to hit skip"...friggin owner does not know what a smile is... woman in her 60s? wow.. it had been a long time since i saw someone so friggin frustrated/mad at life... for the life of her she cant even crank a smile..... doesnt matter what u do.. doesnt matter what happens... just straight up pissed off... reminded me of that number by Katt Williams where where he says its hard being a black man in america.. but "why you gotta wake up mad" "n..a. U gang banging on bacon ! !?" Yes.. wow .... lady take a chill pill...its just reggaeton... take the jukebox out if you dont like it.... maybe move your bar to amish country.. scratch that.. even the amish get jiggy to daddy yankee .....they know good music when they hear it. Never stepping foot in this place again.. go to Douglas Pub.. Guarionex or any of the many awesome bars around that are not self concious about being Puerto Rican (there i said it) "quieren ser mas papistas que el Papa"

Andrea W.

Yelp
Walked by randomly on the way to eat and stopped for some drinks. The drinks are cheap but strong. The chichaitos, flavored shots, were great! Got 2 beers, a mixed drink, and 4 shot for $13! Great spot!

Estrella S.

Yelp
This place is located just in front of "La Plaza Colon". They have really cheap beer, starting from 0.75 the local Medalla, and overall drink price ranges from 0.75 - $10, and that in San Juan is a bargain! If you go you must try their chicaito shots, a drink recipe made with light rum, anisette and they add a series of flavors from mango, passion fruit and strawberry to coconut (the list has almost 25 flavors) and the best is the price - $1 for each chichaito shot. The jukebox, WOW, I've never seen a jukebox that can find any music you like, this one lets you search for your favorite songs because it has Internet (first and only time I've seen something like that). Make sure to try their signature drink el cuernazo, and alas, it can get pretty packed on Friday's and Saturday's night but still the ambient is great. This is a place that you should not miss!!!!

Nicole Z.

Yelp
Pretty cool place. I love how we got to write our names on a dollar bill but too bad I forgot the bartenders name because was super friendly to us and told us the whole back story about how the dollar bills around the store started

Roger A.

Yelp
Go here for happy hour!!! Great bartenders and affordable prices. The shot are so much fun and affordable. I loved this place!!!!!

Chris R.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Old San Juan. Family run and super friendly. Shots of rum with anise are great. 2 local beers for $4 is the best deal in this part of town.

Shary A.

Yelp
$1 medalla & cheap shots !!! gotta love it !! in my experience, it does get FULL thurs-sat !!

Victoria P.

Yelp
I always have fun here bartenders are pleasant and welcoming. Stop here while in old San Juan and enjoy the laid back decor. The bar offers custom made shots for 1.50 /3.00 def try the choco pique ! Just the right kick !!

Chris S.

Yelp
$1 beer and $1 flavored shots! Shots and beer are small, but for only $1 each it's a numbers game. Atmosphere is a bit divey, but I tend to prefer those types of places anyways. Lots of locals, not pretentious at all.

Jillian R.

Yelp
Excellent local bar in old San Juan. Cheap drinks and shots! Definitely a spot to check out. Order the chichaitos! Small little flavored rum shots. The coco ones are really good! This didn't seem like a tourist spot, but rather a spot for the locals which was fine. Definitely check it out

Charles B.

Yelp
Stumbled are way into this joint and I'm glad we did. Cheap beers and shots, great service, and everyone in the place is friendly good mix of tourists and locals. So if u want a good dive bar in old san juan check this place out. The music is everything from salsa to heavy metal funny mix but everyone has a good time.

Laura A.

Yelp
Horrible Service, Rude with the clients and trying to overcharge you. Completely disrespectful. It's not worth the visit. My friend was having a beer inside the establishment and bouncer ripped it off her hands and threw in the trash, his reason? She had the same drink for too long.

Sandya R.

Yelp
We went in here for lunch based on the $1.50 beer special. A quaint spot, good music, friendly bar tender Paola. We did not go for the shots, we went in looking for a quick lunch and were blown away by what we got. Chris the chef ( yes Chef!) is a kitchen magician. He serves everyday bar food in a 5 start artisan manner. We had his Thai chili chicken wings, beef tacos and fish and chips. The wings were spicy and perfectly fried, the tacos ground beef full of flavor. The fish and chips were covered in mangos and came with fried potato strips, Asian fused Cole slaw, Mac and cheese and sweet corn bread. All amazing. I strongly encourage you to grab something to eat. It's definitely a local place but they have a hidden gem in their kitchen.

Becky S.

Yelp
I was almost scared to go in. My husband and I were the only gringos in here, and we got a pat down at the door. It was crowded and loud. The beer and shots were cheap and good. Tons of flavors of the shots, I need to go back and try more flavors! They will sell you the shot to go in a small bottle also.
