Nestled in Wailea, Lineage brings a vibrant mix of Filipino and Hawaiian flavors to life with family-style dishes and a playful dim-sum cart.
"Lineage was founded on three of Hawai‘i’s most important traditions: eating, drinking, and “talking story”—basically, hanging out with friends and family while sharing copious amounts of food. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing meal to celebrate standing up on your first wave over family-style dishes. Share a few appetizers and entrées, like the lion’s mane liangban salad, Cantonese lobster noodles, or half a Korean fried chicken. Then, pick a drink like Da Musubi Man, with bacon-flavored bourbon, Byrrh, rice orgeat, lemon, and furikake, all served in a Spam can." - Martha Cheng

"There are a handful of restaurants to dine at within the swanky Shops at Wailea , an upscale mall just behind the resorts along Wailea’s beaches, but only Lineage strikes a genuine chord when it comes to both food and ambience. The most recent incarnation (post-coronavirus) has a menu that leans more Korean and Chinese in flavor with to-share dishes like the Korean fried chicken, garlic szechuan noodles, and a wagyu kalbi short rib served with a roasted bone marrow. If you want to start light the smashed cucumber and Szechuan peanut vinaigrette is a delicious option; on the other side of the spectrum, the aji tamago, a soy-dashi marinated six-minute egg filled with potato whip and truffled mushroom duxelle is decadent and heavenly. For dessert you’ll want the Mauka Road ice cream sundae, made with Valrhona dark chocolate ice cream, candied mac nut, mochi, and topped with a coconut and white chocolate fudge sauce." - Juliana Shallcross, Kris Fordham
"Hilo-born Sheldon Simeon realized the appeal of his soulful, heritage-based cooking as a finalist on season 10 of Top Chef . Once back in Hawaii, he opened the upscale Lineage in Wailea, where he’s earned a loyal fan base for dishes like kimchi dip, fried turkey tail adobo, and squid luau with creamed taro leaf. Cocktails here are equally creative, ranging from a mai tai made with banana milk punch, Earl Grey tea, raisins, and coconut to a cucumber vodka number garnished with huli huli chicken skin. Whatever you order, be sure to pair it with the chili pepper water, a condiment and digestive aid that’s served in a take-home flask."
"In October 2018 he opened Lineage, his ode to the food he grew up with, a fine-dining-ish restaurant across from a Louis Vuitton in a fancy mall in Wailea." - ByElyse Inamine
