"Owner Dawn Chapman’s farm-forward philosophy stems from her childhood experiences growing up on her grandparents’ farm in Midhurst, Ontario. Her beloved brunch spot (with a newly minted dinner menu) has become a community pillar in the city’s east end of Leslieville (and beyond). People clamor for the legendary high-rise biscuit sandwiches, the stuff of down-home country dreams. These fluffy cushions embrace decadent fillings such as fried chicken with honey butter and jalapeno cheese, Mennonite smoked bacon cradling a runny egg and melty aged cheddar, or eggs with portobello mushrooms and vegan cheddar. The free-spirited spot also offers massive platters of comfort food like cinnamon bun pancakes, beefy smash burgers, blissful bacon grilled cheese sandwiches, and spiced fried chicken on golden Belgian waffles. There’s also a roster of grab-and-go goodies (cookies, muffins, Nanaimo bars, brownies) and bake-at-home biscuits for whenever the craving strikes." - Tiffany Leigh

This is a cute cafe in the Little India area serving up brunch made with local/Canadian ingredients. As their name suggests, there's daisies throughout their restaurants. I personally really enjoy their buttermilk biscuits and therefore always go for their sandwiches. I tried the Son of a Rise and Rise 'N' Shine. They're the perfect portion and definitely makes a great meal. Be prepared to wait a bit for a table. The times I've visited, the wait was between 10 minutes to half an hour which isn't bad. There's also plenty of free and paid street parking in the area. There's also shops in the area for you to kill time while you wait for a table.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Sometimes I dream of a myself sleeping on a fluffy stack of buttermilk pancakes, each layer gently cooked to an eye-catching golden colour and moist texture that offers just a bit of chew. The cream cheese frosting and sweet maple syrup are balanced with a subtly tangy undertone from the buttermilk and a mild cinnamon spice perfumed throughout each bite. Since you're here, might as well grab their signature buttermilk biscuits, which match their vibe perfectly.

First time here today and it’s very high in my recommend list. Great spot with great food and good service. They opened up the patio today and it was glorious, nice little spot to sit down and enjoy breakfast outdoors. Coffee is great with a selection of filter to late etc. they homemade buttermilk biscuits are delicious and the chicken is crispy (and not oily). Decent potions and you can always ask for another biscuit on the side! Parking can be limited, it’s also located in a busy little area that has some amazing stores you might wanna check out. We hade: The rise and fry, Biscuits and gravy Due south Spicy as cluck

Lovely brunch spot, the home fries were well seasoned, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. The orange juice was sweet and refreshing and very fresh. However the sandwiches left more to be desired, would have loved more seasoning and flavour. The matcha latte was also just ok. Overall though, it was a decent enough meal.

Such a cute place with flowers on the walls! Best biscuits in all of Toronto! The chicken was so well seasoned with a spicy kick that I absolutely loved- can't wait to go back for it! Great coffee as well :)

I can see why this place pops up as a must go to for brunch in Toronto. They have a great menu which will make everyone in your party happy. I had their sausage gravy and biscuits and it was amazing. The full stack was fluffy and huge and I already want to go back for more. They've extended their opening hours to evenings too (check site) which gives more opportunities to try their food.

Perfect breakfast sandwich. Just amazing!! My boyfriend got the burrito which he said was good. Everything just tastes so fresh. Cinnamon bun pancakes were good but had better.

Come early! Can often have a wait for breakfast or brunch. We had the rise and shine, and the breakfast burrito. I would highly recommend any dish with the buttermilk biscuit, which has a nice tang, fluffy inside, flakey outside! The food was excellent, but the service quite slow for breakfast.
