This bustling Pakistani eatery is known for its mouthwatering grills and curries, dishing out flavor in a no-frills setting—perfect for casual feasting.
"Until 1am daily Lahore’s grilled lamb chops are famous for good reason, and this big Pakistani grill in Whitechapel is something of a classic establishment for groups, or really anyone after a good-value meal. It's open until 1am, and anything off the grill should be priority. That said, the curries and biryanis are crowd-pleasers too." - jake missing, sinead cranna
"The legendary Pakistani restaurant in Whitechapel has served groups of friends and family big and, er, even bigger for years. The canteen-like space isn’t so much ideal for hungry packs of people as it was built for it—there’s never a lack of space here. You could conceivably host a good old-fashioned east London wedding reception here of the most knees-up variety, complete with still sizzling lamb chops and bowls of chicken karahi. It’s also BYOB (which is always a touch), but you may be inclined to go for a gluggable jug of mango lassi." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley
"If Tayyabs is Whitechapel’s most famous BYOB party restaurant, then Lahore Kebab House is its less ostentatious relative. This modest Pakistani canteen is a go-to for friends, families, and London chefs alike, thanks in part to sizzling, gnawable lamb chops, but more for the relaxed atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable. These aren’t the most perfectly cooked karahis in the world—though everything off the grill still hits the spot—but with cricket playing on screens in the background and conference-sized groups of people, Lahore Kebab House never falters being a restaurant for everyone." - jake missing
"There are a few restaurants in London that share the Lahore name, but this BYOB Whitechapel institution was the first. Skinny sizzling lamb chops rubbed in a moreish curried marinade are a favourite off the grill along with gently spiced pieces of mutton tikka. The canteen-like space was built for big groups of hungry friends and family. The Punjabi menu covers a lot of ground—from korma to karahi gosht—and if you’re looking for somewhere to please multiple people, Lahore Kebab House has been doing just that for years." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing, daisy meager
"If the queue at Tayyabs is longer than your group chat after an evening of questionable decisions, then Lahore Kebab House is where you want to go. Its canteen-like space in Whitechapel was built for big groups of hungry friends and family. The Punjabi menu covers a lot of ground—from korma to karahi gosht—but the skinny sizzling lamb chops rubbed in a moreish curried marinade are a favourite off the grill, along with gently spiced pieces of mutton tikka." - Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna
