Incredible dining experience. Everything we ordered was fresh and service was excellent. 10/10 for the orrechiete and chicken. Can’t go wrong here for dining in Matera, suggest you book a reservation in advance as it fills up quickly.

What a wonderful experience at La Lopa! The atmosphere is super friendly and warm, whether for lunch or dinner. The baccalà appetizers were delicious and incredibly fresh. We then ordered the local entrecôte, which was of truly great quality, and the cooking was perfect! We paired it with a local aglianico. Our server informed us that the meat was sourced from the region. He was super efficient and friendly, which contributed to the great service. The place is beautiful—I'd describe it as chic yet relaxed. It has an original vibe while still feeling authentic. We also loved the little cinema in the basement, which adds a unique touch to the charm of the restaurant. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and a cozy vibe!

My boyfriend and I ended up eating here two out of the three nights we were in Matera – and we would have gladly eaten here all three! Make sure to make a reservation. We dined both inside the restaurant and outside on the terrace – both were lovely experiences. The food and service were absolutely fantastic. Upon making our second reservation, I mentioned we were returning because of how much we loved the restaurant the previous night and a lovely gentleman working there brought us over two glasses of champagne before our meal - we felt so welcomed! The cinema in the basement is a special experience that complements the amazing cuisine. I would certainly recommend this place!

This is a very elegant restaurant with very high quality service. It is very close to the scenic spot of Matera. My husband and I enjoyed a dinner here. Thank you.

The great advantage of this restaurant is its nice interior. Additionally, a nice idea is a room with a projector showing fragments of films shot in Matera. Unfortunately, the food disappointed us. Maybe because it was highly recommended? For us it was just average. The service was also different - from a nice waiter to one discouraged by his workload. We expected something more for this money. If you charge 4 Euro for an espresso, make sure you provide better service to your guests.

Beautiful restaurant that offers traditional italian food often with a touch of Matera. You should reserve a table beforehand, which you can do via their website, where you’ll be directed to WhatsApp. The food is on the more expensive side, but in very high quality! The restaurant also has a small movie room, where a few clips of movies are shown, that have been shot in. Matera. The staff is extremely friendly, even though it took very long to take our orders. The food, excluding the appetizer, also took pretty long. Overall a very nice restaurant, which I would definitely recommend!

Amazing experience, from appetizers to mains and dessert. Also the cinema down the cave showing movies/ads of where Matera is featured is nice.

Recommended! Everything we tried here was really great! Super tasty and very well made and also served fast! Also the atmosphere is incredible the restaurant is inside a cave and the experience is really great. Overall it is definetely recommended and I would recommend that you try the dish with the sheep! It was incredible!
