Jerry's Nugget Casino

Dined here with my husband the other day. Given that the casino is so small, there’s a lingering smoke smell in the restaurant. It wasn’t too bad in the restaurant itself, but outside of the restaurant was suffocating. As for the food, it was great! My husband ordered the country fried steak with fries. It came with vegetables, garlic bread, and a salad. He received mashed potatoes instead, but we didn’t say anything. I ordered the $24 steak with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a salad with a side of Greek rice. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Greek rice. I asked for white because it was shown on the menu, but they said they only had Greek. We loved the rest of our dinners though. The gravy for his meal was astonishing, the potatoes were full of flavor, and the salad was very fresh. For dessert, we got the red velvet cake and the strawberry ring. The strawberry ring was fresh, the cream was sweet but not overpowering, and the pastry was a bit crispy which provided a nice contrast to the soft texture of the strawberries and cream. The red velvet could’ve used some more work. It had a dull flavor, was hard but not dried out or old (more like it needed moisture) and lacked pizazz. The upside is that it was a generous slice, but it’s unfortunate it couldn’t be enjoyed to the fullest. As for the servers, they were attentive, quick, friendly, and made the experience worth it. The music and atmosphere inside the dining area was pleasant as well. If you have younger children in diapers, don’t bring them here. It’s not a kid-friendly place. There’s no changing pad in the bathrooms and the smoke smell is too much. It’d be bad for them to inhale. Overall, I rate this place 3 stars because of the smoke smell and lack of appropriate gear for children, but the food/restaurant/staff was excellent.

The food here is just what my husband and I expected: delicious, comfort food for a reasonable price. Nothing fancy. Just a good meal from a family owned restaurant. The service was fine considering we we here on a busy holiday (New Year's Day). We'll return when we are back in Vegas. The desert options are amazing!!

I used to love eating at Jerry’s Nugget; their food is amazing, and the desserts are even better. However, this morning I went to get their breakfast special and ordered a medium rare steak, but I was served a rare one instead. I usually don’t like to complain, so I tried eating it, but I couldn’t enjoy it. I finished everything else on my plate and asked for another steak. I wasn’t expecting a free replacement; I would have been fine with simply purchasing another one. However, when I mentioned this to the waitress, she told me to wait for the manager. By that point, I had already finished my toast, eggs, and hash browns, and my partner had time to finish her meal as well. Growing impatient, I decided to pay the bill and leave without waiting any longer or requesting a refund for the steak. Unfortunately, I won't be considering this café in the future.

Got the large cut prime rib... Tasty meat, but I got a huge bone in mine... Normal? We also got onion rings and a strawberry wheel for desert... Was a fun night. They seem short staffed... There is a dude that walks around to make sure everyone's happy, he was awesome. I think Norma was our waitress... She was a cutie.

Not sure how long the late night special deal will be around but you can get a steak, eggs, bread, home fries and drink of water for $8.66. Also the staff is always very friendly even during late hours. I appreciate the amazing service and food..

I'm updating my rating. Sorry, owner, but over the last year, we have had several bad experiences there. Not all horrible, but just not up to par. Some worse than others. Most of the servers are very aloof - not that friendly. Some of them have been friendly, but those don't seem to stay. The food is always hit or miss, but we have been coming here because it's one of the few places in this part of town that's not Mexican or fast food. However, yesterday, we had the worst server - the southern one, with the accent. I don't know her name because she didn't even say hello. My husband got a filthy water glass, and our salt shaker was also filthy, and we couldn't even find her to tell her. Another server got her, and she acted like we were putting her out. She did not apologize or anything. She was rude and short when she took our order, and then she didn't even get my husband's drink order right. The poor guy who delivered it felt so bad and was worried we were mad at him. Please tell him we weren't. I was a server in this town for 20 years, and I bent over backward to make sure my guests were happy and taken care of. This is the kind of service I expect. This is a service driven town, and since covid, it seems that everyone has forgotten that. We need to remember again- it's the Las Vegas experience, and if we quit giving that to people, no one is going to come here. (And then we are going to be broke) Get your shit together, Vegas!!! Also, the coffee was terrible!

Though the casino is smoky, the restaurant is comfy and friendly. Our waitress was jovial and checked in frequently to freshen our sodas and ask if anything else was needed. The rainbow trout was seasoned just right, my brother polished off his clam chowder quickly, and my husband's burger was good-sized and juicy. This casino restaurant is not to be missed in one of the oldest casinos in Vegas. Be warned: the dessert display case is right at the entrance, so don't be surprised if you are tempted to have dessert first.
