At this vibrant contemporary Mexican spot, all-vegan dishes are paired with creative cocktails, making for an irresistible and fun dining experience.
"After a quick glance at Jajaja’s menu, you might assume that this place is like countless other Mexican spots serving chorizo burritos and fish tacos. But it’s not. All of the food here is entirely vegan, with fermented bean standing in for chorizo and hemp and flax seed battered squash replacing fish. Make a reservation for an outdoor table, and get a frozen margarita." - matt tervooren, neha talreja
"There's vegan food that tastes great *for vegan food* and then there's great food that just happens to be vegan. Jajaja falls into the second category, and that's why this is one of our go-to spots for a casual weeknight dinner or a taco-centric brunch that's secretly full of vegetable. Some of the menu items here are dead-ringers for your Tex-Mex favorites, like their nachos, which are positively piled with faux-rizo, refried beans, crema, salsa, and queso. Others, like the crispy pescado tacos, offer a fresh take on something that feels both familiar and innovative all at once. You might read the phrase "chipotle almond butter" and wonder whether that belongs on a fake fish taco. Trust us, it does. photo credit: Noah Devereaux" - Carina Finn
Would happily eat here every day The order for 4: nachos to start (something in those beans make them addictive), gorditas (absolute must), enchiladas mole (where was this my entire vegan life), whatever tacos float your fancy, and DO NOT leave without the churritos (almost slept on these but they’re one of the best vegan desserts I’ve ever had) Also good: rainbow chard salad, Mexican wedding cookies, chile relleno, kale pancakes — and the pie is from Rawsome
