"After a quick glance at Jajaja’s menu, you might assume that this place is like countless other Mexican spots serving chorizo burritos and fish tacos. But it’s not. All of the food here is entirely vegan, with fermented bean standing in for chorizo and hemp and flax seed battered squash replacing fish. Make a reservation for an outdoor table, and get a frozen margarita." - matt tervooren, neha talreja

"There's vegan food that tastes great *for vegan food* and then there's great food that just happens to be vegan. Jajaja falls into the second category, and that's why this is one of our go-to spots for a casual weeknight dinner or a taco-centric brunch that's secretly full of vegetable. Some of the menu items here are dead-ringers for your Tex-Mex favorites, like their nachos, which are positively piled with faux-rizo, refried beans, crema, salsa, and queso. Others, like the crispy pescado tacos, offer a fresh take on something that feels both familiar and innovative all at once. You might read the phrase "chipotle almond butter" and wonder whether that belongs on a fake fish taco. Trust us, it does. photo credit: Noah Devereaux" - Carina Finn

Would happily eat here every day The order for 4: nachos to start (something in those beans make them addictive), gorditas (absolute must), enchiladas mole (where was this my entire vegan life), whatever tacos float your fancy, and DO NOT leave without the churritos (almost slept on these but they’re one of the best vegan desserts I’ve ever had) Also good: rainbow chard salad, Mexican wedding cookies, chile relleno, kale pancakes — and the pie is from Rawsome

I went there for a friend's birthday. She is vegan so naturally, they had lots of options for her! The staff were so accommodating, friendly, and very helpful when it came to making recommendations based on our taste! The space has a very cute and intimate setting, not too low lit, but just the right amount of it! The food was amazing, so tasty, not too over seasoned, drinks were refreshing and delicious! The staff also came out and gave the birthday a birthday card where they all signed it and left beautiful messages! Very thoughtful and they really went the extra mile without asking. We also received a few shots of tequila (mixed drinks), but still we were not expecting all of that. She also received a little bag of mini cookies! We had an amazing time and will definitely come back again! 10's all across the board!!!

This was my first time at Jajaja Mexicana and it was great. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very friendly and super attentive. I’m not vegan but the food was delicious! I definitely recommend the nachos and barbacoa bowl. The drinks were strong and tasty. The restaurant was very cozy and cute. Definitely recommend for vegans and non-vegans.

Went here for dinner. They have loads of vegetarian/vegan options. We got nachos, their biria tacos, the food was delicious & surprisingly filling! We will go here again! It's pretty sweet decor with booths on one side & bar on the other & some extra tables in the back. Reservation recommended.

Vibrant Atmosphere and Delicious Cocktails Jajaja has a fantastic vibe, with a youthful crowd at every table and upbeat hip-hop music that sets a lively tone. The decor is both modern and inviting, adding to the overall great ambiance. The servers were exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to patiently guide us through the menu, offering thoughtful suggestions. We tried the mango and watermelon cocktails, both of which were refreshing and delightful. The nachos were particularly amazing, with rich flavors and perfect seasoning. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and I’m definitely looking forward to returning to explore more. Highly recommend!

Google
I loved how warm and trendy the atmosphere was, and most of all the FANTASTIC food. It truly was the highlight of my visit to NYC. I got the mushroom tacos, and my friends also highly recommended their dishes of “Barbacoa” bowl, enchilada, and the guacamole. Definitely get a reservation!

Google
A delightful surprise to find an all vegan Mexican stop. The host was very inviting and gregarious, the server was bright and attentive. Food was served fast and was delicious. The ceviche was light and crisp. The tacos were perfectly portioned and a wonderful blend of flavors. The quesadilla had an element that tasted just like dairy cheese! We loved the hot sauce varieties available on the table so much that we bought a bottle to take home.

Oh my goodness, SO glad that we ate here! We will return each time we visit NYC. We had an 8 hour layover between JFK and Laguardia, and went out of our way, luggage in tote to eat here after finding it online ..... and it did NOT disappoint! The cutest ambience and most inclusive authentic Mexican food menu. We tried so many things and were wow'd by everything. It was fresh and delicious, abundant quantities and strong drinks. The service was outstanding, we were welcomed as weary travelers with open arms, and our waiter accommodated our luggage so sweetly by putting it in their office. They gave great recommendations and were disappointed to hear we were leaving town so soon as they were about to introduce some new items to their menu. We did get in without a reservation early evening, but I wouldn't chance it again after knowing how fantastic it is. Reserve for your date night or girls night, it's the perfect spot. We'll return again and again, my only complaint is that there is no location near us - please open in Denver!

My experience at jajaja have always been pleasant. Sometimes I order but I was in the neighborhood so my friend and I decided to dine in. We ate outside with my pet Lola. We had friendly service and delicious food. The cucumber cocktail was so good we decided to have 4 each.

Yelp
Intrigued by the thought of a plant-based Mexican restaurant? I decided to give Jajaja Mexicano a try and was super-impressed. Not only is everything plant-based, but it's dee-licious! We started with the Enchiladas Mole - yes the enchilada was tender and flavorful, but the mole stood out as one of the best that I've ever tasted. And just as we were marveling at the mole, out came the chimichanga de birria - wow, just wow. Crispy on the outside, and full of warm, delicious flavors on the inside (plant-based chunk steak, spanish rice, black beans, pico, lettuce & sour cream). And we finished it off with two crispy pescado tacos - battered chayotte squash filets with chipotle almond butter and a pickled red onion on top. The chef gave us a ramekin of housemade three chili sauce to try as well. Friendly servers who were clearly proud of their restaurant, they steered us right with menu choices, and the atmosphere was vibrant but not too loud. Definitely coming back as soon as I can. If you haven't tried Jajaja Mexicana, you're missing out!

Yelp
I came here with a friend recently at around 6:30 PM on a weekday. Restaurant was fairly empty; we had a reservation, but there were at least 10-15 open tables, so definitely don't need on. They run some promotion with an app called Blackbird; if you sign up, you get a free margarita. If you don't care too much about having another app (which you can always just delete), definitely get that free drink! We started with the tres amigas platter. Overall, really interesting flavors. The pepita hummus was my favorite; it had a nice nutty aroma. The queso was also good; not obviously vegan, and had good flavors. For my main, I got the chimichanga de birria. Honestly, with all the sauce that they put on top, you can't taste that it's not meat, which is a huge pro for me. The flavors were good, but nothing amazing. Felt like flavors you could get at any mediocre Mexican restaurant in the city, but with the obvious kick of being vegan.

Yelp
Came as a party of 4 at 1:30 pm and had a lovely time! We ordered the Grande Nachos to share - ours came deconstructed, as someone in our party had a corn allergy. Our server was extremely attentive to inform her of what parts of our dishes dish contained corn, so that it wouldn't be consumed. I had the Chorizo Burrito, which had a slight kick to it from the hot red sauce on top, but otherwise, the dish was very good! My friends got the Huevo y Chorizo and Birria tacos, which both dishes were given great reviews! Shall return next time to try the Buffalo Flower Tacos, as recommended by our server. This spot is nice inside and quite spacious. Delicious food and great service! As someone without any dietary restrictions, I was unable to taste any drastic difference in the food. I'd come back for sure + recommend this to anyone who wants a "healthier" meal!

Umar K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and food was decent. Just wish the portions were greater. For the price you are paying the overall entrees and appetizers lacked ingredients to complete the dish. Service was decent nothing amazing.

Nishad J.

Yelp
Jajaja is kind of expensive but the vegetable forward dishes are worth the hype. If you're going here focus on the sweet potato and beet enchiladas and jackfruit based dishes. The fake meat stuff is okay but frankly not as good. The vibe is great for a group dinner or a date and in general the service has been great (the Williamsburg location has my favorite vibe though).

Ashwini A.

Yelp
SERVICE - located in West Village - 5 minute walking distance from metro station - plenty of indoor and outdoor seating even on a Friday afternoon - ambiance was very open and plant themed - good for nicer meal - service was good MENU - all vegan Mexican food - average price ($19 per entree) FOOD - grande nachos (7/10): tortilla chips tossed with soy chorizo, corn, cheese sauce, beans, and salsa verde. We added guacamole for $3 extra. This dish is a good one to share between 2-4 people as the portion. The toppings are well distributed though many of the chips towards the end became soggy. I was not a huge fan of the soy meat and would have preferred more black beans instead. - hongos quesadilla (6/10): huitlacoche and corn with coconut queso pressed inside a tortilla with sides of sour cream and salsa. This is essentially a mushroom corn quesadilla. The portion was really small for it to be considered a main dish. While the flavors were okay, I was not wowed. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe as I want to try more dishes from the menu.

Yelp
4.5: Really enjoyable vegan Mexican food in a nice setting and good service There's a nice ambiance to this place, light and airy. The menu has some appetizers, specialty dishes, tacos and desserts. Thumbs up to the chimichanga and huevos burritos, both had a little kick and they can appeal to both vegans and nonvegans alike. In perusing the menu i wished there were a few more novel options to choose from (such as two types of quesadillas), but we were happy with the freshness, plating and taste. The portions arent huge so we felt satiated but not stuffed (we were hungry because of a long walk in the city). If you like alcohol they seem to have a decent selection there, too. Love the tap water with mint. We were there on a Sunday around 4 pm so there was no wait and plenty of seating. The service was also very nice and attentive enough. I really like it when they don't hover over you when you're paying. Would love to return!

Nidhi P.

Yelp
I wish I lived in NY just to eat here! Honestly my most favorite place. Every dish was so flavorful. We ordered a lot because we got excited & man no regrets. Even the drinks were amazing !

Yelp
When the birria taco craze was happening in 2020, I had major fomo about not being able to try them. Luckily, Jaja is the first place I've seen to make vegan birria tacos. So on my first visit here I of course had to have my opportunity to finally try birria. I came on a Sunday evening ~9PM and it wasn't busy at all - I didn't need to make a reservation although that might not be the case at other times. I was excited that they were using Chunk steak as the beef substitute in the birria as it's probably the most realistic. The tacos themselves were good, although they could have used more of the meat filling. I don't typically like vegan cheese, but the cheese they used in these tacos worked nicely. The consommé was a bit thick as opposed to more broth-like like consommé typically is. I also tried the "fish" tacos and was so shocked that those were actually made with squash - probably the best taco I had there. Also tried the mole tamal and the sauce had a lot more of a kick to it than I expected! Each of the tacos are actually very different from each other when it comes to toppings and sauces, it's not just swapping out a different protein. While these were not necessarily the best tacos of my life, they were the most creative and I'd come back to try out the rest of the menu. They also have these chocolate chip cookies that they give out for birthdays and they're gluten-free and sooo good!

Taylor Z.

Yelp
Pretty fun place with some nice booths for privacy. The selection of cocktails and drinks were pretty decent.

Stacy S.

Yelp
It was such a great dinner! I completely missed taking photos beyond my pineapple-mezcal cocktail (which was sweet and spicy and delish!) Nachos, with added guac of course = omigod soooo good. Honeydew gazpacho = great flavor, a bit thicker consistency than I was expecting. Very refreshing. Sweet potato tacos = spicy, tasty goodness This spot has a great vibe. We are indoors, but the patios looked great. Service was perfect - at the bar and at our table

Yelp
It's quite rare to see a vegan Mexican spot but look no further because Jajaja has got you covered. They have a pretty big menu with a variety of items ranging from tacos to salads to burritos to soups. There are many classic items you could expect to find at a Mexican place but they are all plant based! I got the cauliflower rice and black beans which was pretty good. I am not vegan but came because a friend was. Even though I definitely prefer not vegan Mexican food, I felt very healthy afterwards as I definitely got my fill of fiber and vegetables for the day. We also all shared a chips and dips order which came with three vegan dips (avocado, vegan queso cheese, and a cashew dip) The interior of the place is very cute and staff were attentive. Very good brunch vibes.

Yelp
i love this place so much! Edward has served us 2x already and he is the best and the sweetest! the food is always divine. i had the ceviche and a ponche. delicious for sure, I am obsessed with how pretty and moody the inside is. all in all i would return again. also your check is given with a free postcard and i love it!

Yelp
I could've had multiple portions of both kinds of empanadas. Truly. Both kinds of empanadas were phenomenal. So much so that they stole the spotlight from the rest of the meal, including the entrées, drinks, and dessert. That being said, I still very much enjoyed the crispy pescado tacos. As a vegetarian, I appreciate when the options encompass more than just the standard veggie tacos or beans and cheese. Whatever the "pescado" was coated in was really unique. Where I was slightly disappointed was in the drinks and somewhat in the dessert. The drinks were just okay. I had the Chamo y Mezcal, and it was very watery. My partner had the frozen margarita, which was better but nothing extraordinary. I have mixed feelings about the churros. The churros themselves were super oily (which is to be expected I know as they are fried) but I personally would've liked more sugar coated on them to mask that. However, the dulce le leche cream the churros came with was absolutely amazing.

Natty C.

Yelp
Amazing vegan food. I'm not vegan but I was so impressed. Everything was delicious and fresh. Their drinks were good too. They have a lot of mezcal options. It's very cute inside.

Shriya S.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! Probably one of my favorites if not my favorite food in Manhattan. It's always reliable no matter what location you are at (although I do think the West Village location is slightly superior), and the vibe is fun, lively, perfect for a group, and I always feel good everything is vegan! My go-to order are always the grande nachos that can be a meal on its own (the best nachos in the city). They're the only food item I get here because they're so perfect you can't even believe they are all plant-based. Their portions are also great too - it's perfect for sharing and can easily be split between two people. You have the choice to add avocado but it's plenty filling and enough on its own. Another huge standout are their cocktails - I would recommend their tequila sunrise - it is amazing here. Overall, if you visit you won't regret it!

Katherine M.

Yelp
I went with a group of friends for dinner on a Monday night. It was moderately busy and fairly loud, but the staff were lovely. The hostess especially was so accomodating!! The nachos are a must-have, and the chorizo burrito was delicious, if a little dry.

Anthony P.

Yelp
RATING: 7/10 PRO TIP: Their cauliflower buffalo tacos were yummy. IMO as an meat-eater cauliflower texture lends itself to good vegan food and is quite tasty esp when paired with an intense buffalo sauce. ESQUITES: I love esquites usually, not sure I loved it without cheese, but there are cruncheties mixed in to kind of make up for it. BUFFALO CAULIFLOWER TACOS - yummy, exactly what i was expecting. The quality of the ingredients is pretty good, and the cauliflower wasn't soggy or anything, had a nice tender bite and a strong buffalo flavor. PUMPKIN AND SQUASH EMPANADAS the star of the show is honestly the guacamole at the bottom, with whatever else they plate it with. The inside is nice and tender, and there is a gentle crumble to the exterior which is nice. FINAL CATEGORY: GOOD (terrible / bad / ok / GOOD / great / excellent)

Ana L.

Yelp
Great place!! The food is carefully crafted and it shows. The foundation is there they make their tortillas and tortilla chips. Authentic. They offer classics with their own twist. Best Mexican vegan food I have had. Can't wait to be back in town and try more things. - Vegan Michigander

Parinita S.

Yelp
The place was really nice although it would've been nice to have a slightly larger table for 2 people. We had to put the hot sauces on the empty table next to us because we ran out of room. But the was absolutely phenomenal!! I haven't had plant based nachos this good ever. The nachos can be a meal in itself if you wanted, that's how much there was. And our tacos were delicious as well. A part of me wished they were a la carte so I could try all the other tacos as well instead of two of the same ones. I'll be back to try more foods.

Ameena D.

Yelp
Had lunch at Jajaja last week and overall really loved it. The restaurant is nice and open. They have outdoor seating which is great on a nice day. Service is friendly. Food is really good! Highly recommend the guacamole although I wish it came with more than 5 chips. I also had the cauliflower bowl which was delicious but there were far too many beans and far too little of everything else. Prices aren't crazy but a bit high for the quantity provided. I'll definitely return though as the food was so good.

Alex H.

Yelp
Jajaja Mexicana in the West Village is a vegan Mexican restaurant with locations across Manhattan serving punchy Mexican flavors that will have you forgetting that there's no meat or dairy on the menu. We came for a mid-week dinner and started off with the nachos which were drenched in delicious salsa and their uncannily meaty "chorizo". Mains were equally impressive and we enjoyed the chorizo burrito, chorizo gorditas, and variety of tacos (chipotle sweet potato, palm carnitas, mezcal mushroom and buffalo flower) with our favorite dishes being the buffalo flower taco and chorizo burrito. Jajaja is an all-weather restaurant that can satisfy vegan and non-vegans alike, which is no mean feat

Bjorn P.

Yelp
Damn good. Vegan plant based mexican restaurant. The food and drinks are wonderful. The decor and music lovely. Our waitress was beautiful and played Rugby and gave great recommendations. I will come back here : a gem of a restaurant for vegans and non alike. We had the following: - Pineapple Mezcal - excellent - Florecita - excellent - Beet and Pumpkin Empanadas - good - Queso Fundido - very good - Chimichanga de Birria - excellent - Chipotle Sweet Potato - very good - Buffalo Flower tacos - solid - Crispy Pescado tacos - very good - Raspberry Cheesecake - good - Churritos - good

Peace Y.

Yelp
Pretty decent place. Had the Jackfruit Carnita and the Pollo Coco tacos. The jackfruit ones were the best ones, very flavorful and filling. My tequila cocktail was very good as well and gave me a nice buzz.

Anna P.

Yelp
Delicious veggie food. Was here for a work event and the food was creative and delicious. The service was a bit slow but the cocktails were very tasty. There is a very large choice of mezcal and tequila for all drinks and/or shots. My favorite dish was the beet and pumpkin empanada which was crunchy on the outside, and very flavorful inside, while coming with the perfect amount of guacamole, swiss chard and chimichurri. This is also one of the only places in the city where one can order a Carajillo with 43 !! A cocktail that I really miss and love. Although a little sweet, I'd come back just to get a carajillo, guacamole and chips. Their matcha drinks are good too. Including a standard matcha latte (non-alc) Industrial baños with ceramic-like sinks and rustic faucets was also a unique touch

Mis K.

Yelp
It was a toss up between this or Beyond Sushi for lunch today but I was closer to the West Side, so I was eager to try it out. My server Alex was so welcoming and super cool as she took my order. I had the chimichanga birria and it was sooo good, Deadpool would cry. I also loved the beautiful and delicately sweet Florecita drink. I got the churros to go and am very excited to share them with my cousins. Next time I come to NYC, I am definitely coming back to this location!

Ella C.

Yelp
Phenomenal! As a vegetarian it is difficult to find good meatless options but this place has perfected the plant-based meat substitutions. The cauliflower tacos are crispy and flavorful. The nachos were the best I have ever had. Overall service is wonderful. They bring out a pitcher of mint flavored water which complements the meal well too. Will definitely be returning

Divya V.

Yelp
My friend and I didn't even realize that Jajaja Mexicana is a plant based restaurant until recently. It's a bummer we didn't try any food as both of us absolutely adore plant based dishes. My friend and I were looking for a place with good ambiance and cocktail drinks, and we passed by this place and found it to be a good fit. My friend ordered a Cafe Martin and I ordered a Chamo Y Mezcal. Both of us were in the mood for Mezcals and this place had amazing collection for it too! Our drinks were just perfect, my friend's drink was creamy and I loved the infused butterfly pea and ginger taste in my drink. The staff is very friendly and gave us good recommendations when we picked our cocktails. The ambiance is like a typical Mexcian restaurant but they do have a few stand-outs like atypical food booths which doesn't make it look like a common Mexican restaurant. Like I said before, I would have picked this place for food as well if we knew before it was a Vegan restaurant, but here we go, I have a reason to visit this place again! ;) I'm hoping they open a branch in Chicago too.

Amy K.

Yelp
Wow! Flavor and freshness blew us away! We rarely think to make reservations ahead of time, because we like to take a meandering walk on a pleasant afternoon into evening and then eat somewhere near wherever we find ourselves when we get hungry. But yesterday I checked my "want to try" yelp collection because we knew we were heading downtown. The first place we came to that is on my list was packed and had no empty tables that weren't reserved, so off we went. Jajaja has been on my list for a long time and we lucked out! They were able to give us a 2-top in back, between a party of 6 or 7 on one side and 4 on the other. Works for us. Drinks were reasonable, his $11 wine and my $7 beer (Modelo Especiale). For appetizer, we shared the hongos y corn empanadas. They come 2 in an order. Fried but not in the least bit greasy, filling was delicious and ample, served with a salsa roja and sour cream. Very good, would recommend. For our meal, we shared 3 orders of tacos. At 2 to a plate, each of us had three tacos. You can add a third taco for just $4., worth the money. I think we agreed on the pollo coco was amazing, but we also loved the chipotle sweet potato and the huitlacoche ones! We've had tacos in plenty of other places, never had fillings as generous as these, definitely got our money's worth. So to recap, we each had a drink and each ate 1 empanada and 3 tacos. And we weren't uncomfortably stuffed, but we definitely weren't hungry either. The food here is absolutely delicious and freshly made to order. We may be back here, or we may try one of their other locations - I didn't realize that they have so many! There are 2 others in Manhattan, 1 on Long Island, 1 in Brooklyn, and even one in Florida! Based on this meal, we recommend Jajaja Mexicana.

Annie L.

Yelp
Good service and solid food. Very cute restaurant! Got brunch with friends and we all enjoyed our meals

Melissa M.

Yelp
I'm not vegan, only part-time vegetarian, and I adore this place. I've had no hesitation bringing meat eaters here, the food is that delicious. I highly recommend starting with the nachos. As a Texan, I give the "queso" my stamp of approval. It tastes better than some cheese takes on Tex-Mex queso. I'm a big fan for the turmeric bowl. I wish it had more veggies bc they are grilled to perfection. I also enjoy the other bowls as well. I want to go here for everything. Work lunches, friend dinners, everything. The hardest part is convincing meat eaters to go for the first time, but it's an easy sell to get them to go back!

Casey W.

Yelp
An incredible experience from start to finish. Our host and waiter provided excellent recommendations for food and drink. Everything was presented so well, and the food was delicious. We got the Tres Amigas and birria tacos. I would recommend this spot to everyone!

Danielle F.

Yelp
My s/o and I came here for a quick app because I've been to a different location in NYC (located in a Whole Foods) and tried their queso & chips and loved them. The plan was to just get plain queso & chips. It was really quiet when we got there so we decided to sit at the bar. Our server Rafael was very knowledgeable and kind. He answered all of our questions & service was quick & prompt. We ordered the Grande Nachos, not realizing that was the completely loaded version - and we were SO pleasantly surprised. Every last thing on that plate was outstanding. Beans, guac, sour cream, I mean every. Last. Thing. On. That. Plate!! Since I loved the queso so much I actually got a side cup to throw on top for extra queso and that was the icing on the cake! My s/on got the Frozen Agave Margarita. I don't usually drink margaritas but I tried this and it was really good! He loved it. I wasn't sure what I wanted and Rafael recommended De La Calle Tepache (prickly pear something flavor). It was fantastic with some simple syrup (I felt it needed a little sweet)! For dessert we ordered the Churritos which were super yummy! Don't sleep on the dip it comes with (something like salted caramel or dulce de leche) - I thought they were best left alone but was surprised they were actually better dipped in that stuff! I should add that my s/o usually does not like Mexican food, and we typically avoid it because we are dairy free (but eat meat). We loved that this place is entirely vegan because we didn't have to worry about what was safe for us on the menu. When we left he ranted and raved to family and friends that we need to go back with them! It was a lovely place - great service, food, and atmosphere. We really loved the vibe - Mexican decor and we also loved the liquor wall behind the bar. Totally instagramable, haha! And everything was priced reasonably for NYC. Oh and we love the little postcard that came with the receipt, how cute!

Susan S.

Yelp
My friend, who is vegan, recommended Jajaja to our group of non-vegan palettes! I have to say I enjoyed every bite from the appetizers, to the main dishes to the desserts! Awesome meal!

Mira S.

Yelp
This is one of the best vegan Mexican spots in the West Village. I highly recommend the black bean burrito and the nachos. The service was incredible and the food came out really quickly. I highly recommend this spot for a quick lunch with some friends or dinner. It had a little hole in the wall vibe but was an incredible restaurant!

Joe T.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were looking for a vegan restaurant to sit down. We found this place searching through yelp and decided to give it a try. The scenery was very pleasant and really fit the theme. We were greeted and seated with the barcode to scan for the menu. Upon reviewing the menu, we decided on the chorizo burrito and pollo fresco. Both were really delicious! Great flavor and had a nice kick to it! Service was fantastic and definitely would return.

Jen K.

Yelp
Gorgeous, chic and cozy space. Cordial and cool looking staff who are very attentive and accommodating. Huge standout was the popcorn passionfruit cocktail--two of my favorites combined in a totally unexpected way. I would go back again just for that drink! Tres Amigas trio of dips with nachos were good and my fave was the Sikil pak. Amazing flavor! Turmeric cauliflower rice bowl was very generous in size, but I would try tacos or a specialty dish if I were to go back. Overall, a great spot and vibe.

Camilo A.

Yelp
Great vibe! Great selection of high quality tequilas and their food is exquisite! Service is amazing! Recommend for anytime hang out, so stop by!

Renee K.

Yelp
The food was tasty and I'm not even a vegan! The portions are small however. It's a cute place and the service was good and friendly.

Rachael M.

Yelp
Amazing experience - excellent food, service, and ambiance. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and the design and decoration of the entire restaurant is beautiful. The nachos are a great starter for sharing - and spicier than expected! We also started with the hijiki hearts of palm ceviche. Then we all shared the enchiladas mole and enchiladas verde, coconut queso quesadilla, dinosaur kale bowl, and finished with the churros and dulce de leche. Everything was delicious and the presentation is spectacular. All the drinks are beautiful too. Highly recommend a visit!

Sheena P.

Yelp
I've been coming to Jajaja for years! This is their biggest location and great for dining it. The vibe is definitely casual, fun, and lively. We ordered: Nachos (4/5) - spicy 'chorizo', corn, habanero queso, and salsa verde - all the fixings done right. A large appetizer, perfect for sharing, a must!! Chorizo Burrito (4/5) - Excellent balance of rice, beans, cheese and spicy (plant) chorizo. The burrito is smothered with 3 different salsas. Enchiladas Verde (4/5) - The Enchiladas Verde were decent but didn't stand out. Still good classic flavors. Jajaja delivered on satisfying Mexican food with plant based ingredients. Will definitely return for a casual lunch/dinner and try their tacos next time!

Yelp
I love this place! Such a good vegan option in the city. Especially loved the chips and queso and the (unpictured) drinks. They did a good job of masking the liquor taste. We loved the inside; it was really cute and open with a huge bar in the front that seemed like a good pregame spot to meet friends. The service was good from what I recall, will definitely be visiting again when back in NYC.

Yelp
Not w huge fan of vegan food. But i let my daughter decide. Got there and it was busy. So make a reservation. We sat in the garden in the back. Which was kind of cool. They have heaters. So it fine got the guacamole and salsa. Chips were good Got the chorizo burrito. It was yummy. But a mess. Great service. Reasonable price. I will be back. Recommended

Yelp
The entrance is inviting and decor pretty/light. The host was nice and sat us quickly at the table near the window which was great. The table service was slow, I think because the server switched and we had to ask to put in a drink order. It is a vegan restaurant, the nachos and vegan chorizo were yummy. I got the Atun Wrapito that was ok, good ranch dressing but I did miss the meat. I don't remember the drink I got, most of the cocktails are mezcal based.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews but this place is so good that I had to leave one. I'm vegan and gluten free and my family isn't. This is one of the few places that is vegan and still enjoyable for someone who isn't. They enjoyed the food and so did I. I had a server named Byron and he is super kind, attentive and has a positive demeanor overall. It was my birthday and the great service food and environment made it special I made this review back in April but just realized I never posted it

Yelp
Yummmmm. An excellent option for vegan Mexican food. The nachos are top-notch (top-nacho?) - probably the best vegan nachos available in Manhattan. They come with a super fun salsa trio (loved the spicy habanero and the funky cool charcoal ranch!) The chorizo burrito was also very good. I tried the East Broadway location once and found the West Village one to have slightly better food.

Yelp
If you're looking for amazing Mexican food in the city AND want it to be vegan without even realizing it's vegan, look no further! This adorable, fun and lively restaurant will brighten up your day and the service is always an added bonus. I already know I am going to get hungry writing this review, so here it goes. Start with the nachos, you will not be disappointed. Surprisingly, they make for good leftovers, if you end up with any! Their cocktails are excellent if you drink, or if you don't like me - I love their mocktails. They usually have seasonal options that end up being knock-your-socks-off amazing. My husband's fave is the enchiladas mole, I prefer the tacos - you can't go wrong with either option. The only thing I'll say is, you MUST not leave without trying the "egg" tacos! They are sooooo gooood! The mushroom and sweet potato tacos are also very good. I like getting the esquites as a side. My favorite way to end the meal is with the churritos...they are so adorable and come with the most delicious coconut dulce de leche dipping sauce *chef's kiss*... As I said I would be after writing this, I am now hungry and am going to see if my family wants to go here for dinner tonight :) Hope you end up loving Jajaja as much as we do!

Yelp
I visited the location with my best friend for dinner and the place is very cute and quaint, everybody was very sweet and friendly. My friend is as vegan as they come, and I'm not, so I guess he picked a middle ground since we both like Mexican. I let him order because I'll eat anything. He ordered the loaded nachos with guacamole and biria tacos while I ordered a sangria sprite. The nachos were pretty good, I must say, just that so many of the nachos were a complete sog underneath by the time we got to them. The enchiladas and birria tacos fell a little short for me. I think it may just be me and my palette and the size, texture of them. However, he enjoyed them. Also, my drink fell pretty flat and just tasted like a bottle of sangria wine with no carbonation. I had a nice time despite not being a fan of the food.

Yelp
Great quality and delicious food. We opted for our waitress' recommendations and they did not disappoint. Nacho - the portion is huge and it lasted throughout the night. It came with vegan chorizo, fermented black bean, turmeric queso fundido, spicy sauce, and sour cream. Buffalo Flower Tacos - tasted like Buffalo chicken in the taco. I like the spicy kick to it. It came with tempura'd cauliflower, flax seed, shredded carrot, queso azul, and apple blossom. Coconut Queso Quesadilla - tasty. It was pretty good. It came with spinach & basil pesto, serrano, king mushroom, and a side of pico de gallo and sour cream. Churritos - so good! It was nice and hot and it came with coconut dulce de leche. If you must get a dessert, I recommend this! I also got to try their non-alcoholic beer which tastes just like real beer! Overall, this place is pretty solid and I recommend it.
