Intelligentsia Coffee in Lakeview is the go-to spot for serious brews and a chill vibe, perfect for caffeine aficionados and remote workers alike.
"The Intelligentsia in Lakeview is very busy, so getting a seat can be tricky. But if you’ve been working from home and haven’t talked to a real person in three weeks, it’s worth a try. Snag a spot at one of the large back tables and you won’t feel claustrophobic, even when the cafe is full of people. It’s a gentle way to ease back into human interaction." - adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru
"Lakeview East is home to this original Intelligentsia cafe. I recall hearing of their pour-overs being described by coworkers in legendary fashion, back when I had no idea what a pour-over was. This place is for the uber coffee geek, and the casual drinker alike. I can vouch for the latter. Although these folks take their coffee very seriously, they are just as eager to share recommendations. You can either set up shop in the cafe at a number of tables, or have your caffeine as takeaway. The whole bean options also make a great gift." - Studio Malt
"Local specialty coffee chain Intelligentsia offers drinks made from Kilogram Tea. Pick from English breakfast, Earl Grey, and jasmine green teas, in addition to matcha drinks and steamed or iced chai. Order the drinks to go or take advantage of the free WiFi and patio space. Intelligentsia also has two outposts in the Loop." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff
