"After that, head to Indian Canyons. It’s a natural oasis with waterfalls where you can go swimming. It’s less of a hike and more of a rigorous walk to get there, but wear sneakers and clothes as if you’re hiking. Keep your camera handy — when I was there we saw a huge family of peninsular bighorn sheep."

My favorite local hike is the three-ish mile Palm Canyon Trail + Victor Trail loop at Indian Canyons, which features an epic palm oasis.

Andreas canyon trail was a great little hike. Says 1 mile round trip. Not too bad. Can be done some where between 20 and 30 minutes. February would definitely be a great time to visit high 60s to low 70s. May through September would need to bring some water. Not free costs $12 per person but worth it to see it.

I had an unfortunate encounter with a ranger at Indian Canyons in Palm Springs. The ranger was rude and showed no respect toward visitors. He gave us a specific time for visiting but failed to follow through on his word. The organization during busy periods is poor. While the place itself is beautiful, I don’t believe it’s a must-visit destination in Palm Springs unless you’re particularly interested in challenging hikes. The effort required to get there may not be worth it for everyone. If you’re looking for a scenic spot with plenty of special trees for photos, the Desert Zoo is a great alternative that offers a similar experience.

Totally blown away! !!!!! 🌴🌴🌴😱😱😱😱 A beautiful and tranquil destination for nature lovers and adventurers. Indigo Canyons offers a serene escape into nature with its breathtaking landscapes and peaceful ambiance. Perfect for hiking, photography, or simply unwinding, the canyons are rich with vibrant colors and unique rock formations that create a truly mesmerizing setting. The trails are well-maintained, suitable for various skill levels, and provide a quiet retreat from city life. It’s a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts.

This reservation has multiple trails to enjoy for the same entry fee. It was popular on the day I went, but the line of cars moved through pretty quickly. The parking and local roads were frustrating at times, with multiple sections being only wide enough for a single car so I wouldn't recommend a large vehicle.

Amazing! Apparently you can do horseback riding there too through a 3rd party, which would have been so fun. Great hiking trails and views.

Beautiful place for exploring the nature without getting too tired. Kids friendly. A lot of shady places to keep the kids cool down. Bring enough water and apply sunscreen.

Came here with the family to do a bit of hiking and was not disappointed. Love area that are quite scenic and a beautiful stream flowing through palm trees. My kids enjoyed the walk on the trail and was different than the forest areas we are used to seeing. Would recommend coming here to picnic along the stream in the spring time.

Stunning and picturesque, the hikes offered here transport you to a sanctuary seemingly untouched by time and humanity. The modest entry fee is more than justified for the unique experience of exploring this area. With a range of trails from moderate to challenging, especially under the sweltering summer heat of 120+ Fahrenheit (40+ Celsius), remember to bring plenty of water. Whether you're embarking on one of the scenic loops or heading straight for the waterfall to revel in its cool, fresh waters on hot days, this place is truly unparalleled.
