"A historic palazzo built over the foundations of the Teatro Pompeo is home to this atmospheric restaurant, which brings together history and contemporary art. However, the real star is the fish on the menu, most of which comes from the island of Ponza, and is served either raw or cooked very simply in a modern style." - Michelin Inspector

The spaghetti with mollusks (sometimes razor clams, other times clams) at Il SanLorenzo are so delicious, if insanely expensive at €25 a plate. I’m a super fan, though not everyone loves how al dente they serve their pasta.

I was a walk in, looking for a dinner alone. The staff were friendly and super welcoming, finding me a table even though it was a Saturday night. Very attentive service and great wine recommendations, I had the tasting menu and was not disappointed. Really recommend this place, especially if you’re a solo traveller.

This restaurant is not for foreigners or first-comers because the staffs choose to service those who are known. The food is very expensive compared to taste and service. I don’t recommend this place.

Charming. Brilliant seafood dishes. Attentive service. Gorgeous interior. We go here every time I’m in Rome and it never disappoints. The raw fish, as well as the octopus, urchin and lobster dishes are all expertly prepared.

The food was good, but for a place that expensive I was expecting a better service they brought us the wrong food and other food took a lot of time to come. Over all I would recommend this place only to someone who really enjoys raw fish. But the service isn’t at high enough level.

Just great place to experience Italian food in. Old style and elegant. Fresh seafood and variety of it so u can choose anything on ur taste. Food is decent, Pasta was a bit not my style tho. Sweets were complimentary.

after reading the TA rvws about the haughty attitude was a bit nervous but went anyway bcs it was close to my hotel and am so glad i did. the seafood is very very tasty. i got a barrotolo of shellfish full of flavor and a fish baked in thin slices of crispy potato which tasted divine like no fish i've ever had before. did not get wine or anything else. and it was a bit expensive at 110 eur but totally worth it. service is formal and courteous. don't interrupt the waiter or try to order things all by yourself or they'll get very put out and get in a huff. just let them take charge and follow their advice and they'll be very nice.

Good food and wine but a place to avoid for non locals who do not feel welcomed. Waiters are rude and overall this restaurant which aims to be chic is just pretentious.

Snooty, especially the Maitre d who thinks that he is the most important person in the world! Second worst us the owner who speaks only to the locals and snubs is lowly tourists. Food was ok. Interesting architecturally.. you can do better
