Hotel Bruny

I visited during peak hours (1:30 PM) and the restaurant was packed. I'm spend 30 minutes wait for food. However, the flavors were delightful, and the portions were generous for one person. That being said, if you're a big eater or foodie, you might find the serving size isn't enough to satisfy your appetite.

Reviewing the restaurant - we had several dinners here (not a lot of choices in this area) and all of them were excellent. We enjoyed our meals very much. Counter service. Place can get crowded. Enjoyed all the lamb dinners

This place is such a gem. It’s in a fab location for those wishing to explore the island. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern, the beds are very luxurious. The views are breathtaking from the rooms, we didn’t want to leave the cabins. Walking distance to the pub and the food is generous size and the staff are polite and helpful. The beach is a luxury to have so close by. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Went for lunch with the tour and it was great! We ordered kids fish and chips, and a started seafood chowder. Both tasted great and the portion was just nice for 2 of us ladies. We added a lemon curd tart which surprisingly came w an ice cream and the mix was perfect. I ordered their home made apple and pear cider and it blew me away! Great views too but service can be friendlier and more efficient.

We stayed in one of the new King Lodge rooms which is a standalone modern cabin so no connecting walls with neighbours. The room is very clean, comfortable and modern with lovely views of the water and Satellite Island. We enjoyed a delicious seafood platter at the Hotel Bruny. A very enjoyable stay. I would recommend the off season in August as the whole island is quieter. I would still reserve your table for dinner as despite being winter the hotel was still very busy.

Booked two nights in a King Suite at the Bruny Hotel on Bruny Island. Beautiful rooms, with amazing views. We had extreme winds while we were there - the island even lost power for a few hours due to the wind - and the suite, in spite of creaks and groans, withstood the buffeting of the blast. Amazing just to sit at the picture window and watch all that unfolding outside. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We ate both nights in the pub and enjoyed great meals. The only breakfast options are about 20 minutes away by car, so a good idea to buy some food to have in the room (there is a microwave as well as kettle and toaster). A wonderful place to rest on Bruny.

Great service, great food. Highly recommend the oysters natural and the linguine. The fish is great and the lamb melts in your mouth. Next time we are in Tasmania, will definitely come back.

Stopped here as part of a tour and my expectations were exceeded! Super lovely staff who were professional, welcoming and efficient. The food was very fresh and super tasty. My partner and I had the chowder which had lots of perfectly cooked seafood. Everyone on our tour enjoyed the food. The portions are solid. I also loved they really supported local producers, even my cola was a local tassie brand as were the beers on tap. Most of the tables were reserved so I’d suggest booking a table - it was a Saturday when we visited. Great view of the ocean.
