"The spruce herrnschlösschen hotel, located in the old town, is home to a delightful little restaurant whose stylish modern interior design seamlessly incorporates the building's historical architectural features – the huge wooden beam dates back to 1526! There is a set menu bearing the name "INNOVATIVE KLASSIK By Sascha Bungeroth", which comprises five courses and includes a few added extras. Following stints at several top-flight establishments, here the chef takes his cue from the seasons, with dishes such as pickled Canadian scallops with sesame, horseradish and tonburi, or Franconian veal fillet tartare, burrata, olives and pine nuts. Here, diners enjoy sophisticated dishes like carpaccio of smoked goose breast and braised veal with truffles, followed by elegant desserts such as pear-and-marzipan cake with raspberry sorbet and chocolate sauce. Also on offer is a solid wine list with plenty of German and French varietals, as well as a romantic garden that’s perfect for eating alfresco in fine weather. This lovely historic hotel has friendly helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable and everything was extremely clean. The breakfast was sit down service and delicious. It is within walking distance of everything in the old walled town which makes it easy to get around. The Christmas Market was 2 blocks away in the shopping district. This hotel doesn't have an elevator but the staff helps with the luggage. I've stayed at 5 star hotels, but the Herrnshlossen is much more fun

Our apartment room was perfectly located in a quiet street just off the main square. The apartment was beautifully presently, very clean, quiet and had all the facilities you could want. The host, Sven, was really friendly and helpful. We arrived early, our room was ready and Sven happily checked us in. Sven also told us about a German Christmas tradition happening the next night, and made sure we were included. The breakfast was good and dinner in the restaurant was outstanding. We could not have asked for more.

Love the nostalgic hotel look and feel. Friendly staff and helpful in query. The location was superb, quiet and easy on the carpark. Love the simple breakfast especially missed the freshly bake bread. Highly recommended to stay as couple or family.

This is a wonderful hotel and you will not be disappointed. My wife and just returned from a two-night stay and we would (hopefully will) stay here again on a return trip to Rothenburg. The staff were all helpful and friendly and our room was big and comfortable. Breakfasts, which were the only meal we ate there, were simple but good. The ambiance of the hotel fits well with the rest of Rothenburg and portions of it are over 600 years old!

A delightful boutique hotel in the heart of the city. (Very close to the Christmas markets - but far enough away ) We were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail. The rooms are comfortable and dark (great sleeping ). Breakfast was made to order - hot and fresh. I highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, we were met with such hospitality and warmth! Sven and his team were delightful. Not realizing I booked a “studio” double, we were guided to an “apartment” right off the square. Prime location and beautiful room! The best night of sleep we had on the entire trip! A+++++

My family of four had a delightful experience here, from the booking process to checkout. We loved how old world met with modern conveniences at this wonderful hotel. The breakfast was also very good! Everyone was very kind and accommodating. We would visit again!

We stayed two nights at the hotel. Beautiful accommodations and staff. Our visit was perfect. The location could not have been better. Breakfast and minibar were included. Valet parking was very reasonable and most helpful. Breakfast could not have been better. We were sad to leave.
