Step into this charming French bistro for tasty staples like onion soup and burgers, though brace yourself for tight seating and a hefty bill.
"This lively French brasserie has been around for a decade, and it’s always a useful place to pop in for lunch after wandering around the boutiques and galleries in the neighborhood. If you can, snag one of the outdoor tables on the balcony overlooking the tree-lined street, and plot your next move over a few glasses of wine, a dozen oysters, and some shrimp cocktail. They also do heartier dishes like a great burger that’s drenched in beef jus. Whatever path you choose, end with the apple tarte tatin." - guillaume guevara
"Havre 77 has been a Mexico City staple for over a decade, and for good reason—it was the first well-executed French brasserie in town when it opened over a decade ago, and it still is. The restaurant, founded by the owner of Máximo Bistrot, is perfect for a leisurely meal after exploring the boutiques and galleries in Juárez or before going out to one of the many nearby cocktail bars or nightclubs. Try to grab one of the outdoor tables on the balcony overlooking the tree-lined Havre, the namesake street, and the most famous one in the neighborhood. The burger is amazing, the onion soup is decadent, and coming here for the fresh oysters from Baja with a date for lunch is never a bad move. Whatever you decide, finish with their gooey, crispy apple tarte tatin." - guillaume guevara

"Chef Eduardo García (of Lalo and Máximo Bistrot fame) applies his exquisite taste to a more traditionally French bill of fare at Havre 77, a beautiful dining room on what may be the city’s hippest half-block. Just a smattering of tables (reservations are recommended) and a handsome old-style bar inhabit two rooms and a tiny terrace in a fabulous fin de siècle mansion whose feel is still contemporary; couples favor the restaurant for its romantic, indulgent atmosphere. A pared-down menu hints at the approach: quality over quantity in Gallic standards like onion soup, oysters, a buttery steak frites, duck confit; all ingredients are excellent, leveraging the best of Mexican farms and ranches. Near perfect yet never fussy."
