"Fun Times at the Great Dane One of the first things you'll first notice about the Great Dane pub in Braamfontein is the floor. It's made completely out of 5 cent pieces, which gives it a very awesome copper colour! Located right next door to the other hip and happening bar, Kitchener's and open all week long, the pub also serves some good grub. Be sure to get in earlier as the place does get packed even with an over flow area in the form of a cosy courtyard in the back. There are some pretty cool parties each weekend so be sure to check up on the Facebook page for relevant details like the secret password to get in the front door!"

Simply awesome - trendy, welcoming, buzzing with great music and drinks deals. My friend and I stumbled upon this bar and met his local friend for an evening session. The place was packed with hip young locals relaxing to an excellent soundtrack of classic hip-hop and R&B, as well as some modern EDM and house mixed in too. There were 2 for 1 deals on cocktails until 1900, which we certainly took advantage of! It was an awesome place to relax and soak in the local scene. The rear terrace is the place to be, but seating is limited so arrive early to get an area. The food menu also looked very appetising.

The Great Dane is a very chilled spot in the heart of braamfontein which is a predominantly student/young professional area. The think most amazing about Great Dane is the open chilled area at the back where u can relax or go dance inside

Awesome place. Drinks are reasonably priced. The music depends on which DJ is playing. However there is an indoor and outdoor area so that's enjoyable Also if you look closely the floor has 5cent coins decorating the entire dance floor. It's awesome and detailed!

The service at bar is quick, they make great cocktails and their beers are cold. The crowd is diverse and interesting. The music is on point and is great quality. It gets very crowded during rainy whether as a portion of the venue is outside. Do bring cash in case you have to entrance , for example on a Friday night, as there is no speed point at the door but the bar does take cards.

Great Dane is a great club to visit. It only opens on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, the previous manager Timo was a horrible manager as he did not handle treating guests fairly but he was a great DJ. I became very friendly with all the bouncers, bartenders and resident dj's as I spent a lot of my time there. A very youthful place and easy place to meet young people that are ready to mingle. It offers great food, great alcohol and great music.

Had an overall amazing experience! The venue pulls in a relatively young crowd. The place did get tightly packed after a few hours of being there and the wait to get served at the bar is quite tiring. But overall, it's a lovely venue to let loose!!
