Nestled in Notting Hill, Bill Granger’s vibrant eatery offers laid-back Aussie-inspired all-day dining, where the ricotta hotcakes and brunch vibes never disappoint.
"Granger and Co. runs three Australian restaurants in London, and the Notting Hill location is the smallest of the three. The menu’s the same as at the other two venues, and it’s full of the kind of fresh salads, sandwiches, small plates and main dishes that you’d find at a cool cafe in Sydney - think shrimp burgers, ricotta hotcakes, and plenty of stuff with avocado. Their ‘bowls’ and sandwiches are the best lunches, while at dinner we like to put a meal together from small plates and salads. None of it is exactly cheap, but the food’s consistently good. And the wine list starts at prices that are non-Notting-Hillish. The small size and quality food means getting a table might be the hardest thing you’ve done since you tried to walk down Oxford Street on December 23rd, so be sure to book if you’re going at peak times." - Richard Ehrlich
"Like finding out that the word ‘slang’ is short for ‘shortened language’, you might do a double take when you realise that yes, Granger and Co is open in the evenings, and yes, their dinner menu is actually pretty good. The restaurant is pretty enough to linger in on a Wednesday night, and though the casual Aussie bistro-style food won’t blow your mind, it doesn’t need to, as the whole experience is totally likeable. The shrimp burger and fish curry are the ones to get." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, eileen twum
"When you’re meeting someone who doesn’t know the real you and you’re trying to channel polite and likeable, your restaurant choice should too. Granger & Co is a safe pair of hands on Westbourne Grove, where it feels like Hugh Grant could pop out from any of the pastel-painted boutiques. The pretty Australian restaurant is ideal for civilised conversations over raw carrot salads, steamed hake, and coconut curry. Just like the chat you’re having, it’s all very… nice." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna
"You might have seen Bill Granger on the TV in some sun-drenched Sydney kitchen making sweet corn fritters, or things involving avocados and harissa. This is one of his restaurants (the others are in Chelsea, Clerkenwell, and King’s Cross), and it’s just as good as he is at selling the laidback Aussie dream - think tasty brunch dishes like fluffy ricotta pancakes, or toasted coconut bread that’ll hit the spot. The price to pay is a not unreasonable queue on weekdays - it’s no bookings - that can easily stretch to 30-60 minutes at the weekend." - rianne shlebak
"Known for his relaxed approach to cooking, Bill Granger has fronted major culinary hits in Australia and Asia. This bright, airy, and generally packed place on Westbourne Grove is his first London restaurant, and like its predecessors, it offers casual all-day dining with a comfort-food slant (awesome mash) and a fantastic weekend brunch. Look for simple dishes, like the signature ricotta hotcakes or the full Aussie breakfast. The no-reservation policy means you'll probably have to wait, but it's totally worth it. For the North Londoners reading, there's a second location in King's Cross, plus two more in Clerkenwell and Chelsea."
