The jewelry is what started it all, though, 19 years ago. Now in their fifth location, and still showcasing pieces designed and made in house, and breathtaking pieces from around the world. Hands down my husband and I's favorite store in Oak Park. This shop is truly an escape and is so beautifully curated. Laura has done such a stunning job with the space and every time we go there were are greeted warmly. My engagement ring is from here as well as my favorite ring that I wear for my everyday stack. I love that you can get everything from a bar of soap to a vintage piece of art from there. Happy to have such a stunning shop in our neighborhood and can't wait to continue coming back!

I first found their shop on Instagram because I was looking for permanent bracelets. I got one and I’m hooked. I went back for another, then a necklace, now a piercing with my beautiful new earrings. Everyone who works here is always so sweet and accommodating. They take their time and answer all your questions. I’ve even communicated with them on Instagram and they get back to me very quickly. You can tell they care about their clients and the products they sell. I always look forward to coming and shopping at Gem. I’ve even done an online purchase and it was fast and easy. My only regret is that I can’t buy one of everything whenever I go!

Gem is a charming shop. Immediately upon seeing the entrance in the alley-like walkway I was compelled to explore. Once inside I felt transported. There are products and gifts that call to all your senses and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. A few items that come to mind are patterned rugs, soft pillows, rugged stools, smooth stones, fragrant candles, incense and of course the gorgeous jewelry! The staff are kind and knowledgeable. Happy to help answer questions or let you shop alone if that is your preference. I was so excited to find some really beautiful and unique jewelry here. I didn’t feel the timing was right to buy the pieces for myself, though the sales person offered to start a wishlist. It ended up working out beautifully, my husband went back to purchase a couple of things for my birthday.

We had a great experience at GEM. My son and I both bought the wrong size bracelets as Christmas presents. The team took care of us in a timely and super-friendly manner. Will return!

Every time I step into Gem I find something truly unique and beautiful, much of the jewelry is handcrafted and one of a kind. I have slowly (ok, maybe sometimes not so slowly 🙈) built my jewelry collection from Gem and love finding gifts for friends and family here too. Not to mention the home store just down the walkway is a knockout! The people who work here are so kind, and truly knowledgeable, I am a lifelong customer for sure!

I went here Saturday for a permanent bracelet after seeing a few other girls who had theirs done here. When I got home, I felt like I should’ve gotten the bracelet longer (which was my bad) and realized I should’ve had it placed on my left wrist. I coach volleyball, so being right handed I realized probably wasn’t the best choice for me…oops again! I messaged them on Instagram and called the store to see if there was a way to add length and then decided to switch wrists. They got back to me super quickly and Jen was so helpful! I 10/10 recommend this store and will be back even though I live an hour away! It’s worth the drive! When you are investing in a quality piece of jewelry, it’s good to know a business will take their time with you and make sure you are completely happy with the product! Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!
