Gelato Franco

Omg, I was actually walking around to find the Greek ice cream store when Google maps showed me this place on my way. It was the best gelato 🍨! Omg the flavour, & texture was amazing. We shared one scoop of Toblerone and Pistachio in a cup. Pistachios actually had so many real pistachios in it! Whole and crushed ones! Go do your taste buds a favour and enjoy a scoop or two or a tub! You won’t regret it! They do not do tastings! But I can see why!

New gelato discovery! This place is adorable and the gelato is really good. The watermelon 🍉 is super refreshing and paired with the chocolate it goes well together. One scoop / two flavours deal for $7.50 is awesome especially as the portion size is generous and two scoops can be too much. They have flavours of the day. We dropped in late on Friday and it was packed but the line moves. Cute family business vibes 🍧

Gelato here is very nice - creamy and not overly sweet. Love their panna cotta, stracciatella and rasberry yogurt the most 😊 The 2 scoops portion is gigantic and perfect for two!

If you’re a gelato lover like me, this place is a must-visit. The portions are *massive*—like, “did I accidentally order a gelato mountain?” big. And the flavours? Especially the nutty ones, are next level. It’s like they took every nut in Italy and turned it into a scoop of pure happiness. I walked in expecting a quick treat and left with a gelato that could double as a meal. It’s a sweet spot that’s definitely worth the indulgence.

Nice, cute local gelato shop, I’ve been obsessed with trying all pistachio flavour from all ice cream places in Sydney and I hate to say I didn’t really like the pistachio ice cream from this shop. It was mostly like a vanilla with a lot of pieces and crunch of pistachio. Didn’t have a quiet, strong pistachio flavour, and I didn’t really like the texture of the pistachio I prefer ice cream texture.

Having been here several times I find their gelato boring and overpriced to be completely honest. They still use home style ice cream ball style scoops which doesn't give you much at all compared to many others. What's most annoying is they won't even let you try a flavour when every other leading gelato store in the world let's you taste. That's either arrogant or just not good business. All in all value for money vs boring flavours that you can by at retail stores makes this a non destination for us.

You simply cannot go to Marrickville and miss this place! I'm so happy they've moved locally! Best and authentic Italian flavours. Made with love. I'm here like 2-3 times a week it's quite sad. The staff are all so lovely and welcoming. They now do take home tubs 600 ml for $11! For one scoop it's $4 and they give too much! But I'm not complaining. My fave is the zabaglioni, banana and tiramisu! Can't go past it. So delicious!

Im finally ticking of some of my many bookmarked places, Gelato Franco being one of them :D!! They're situated right down the end of marrickville road just past illawarra road, so a bit away from the hustle & bustle of Marrickville :). Came here with a friend, who me and him both had big cravings fo gelato/Sorbet :). I ended up getting the choc chip, peach and passion fruit :), all delicous flavours but my Numero uno of the 3 was the choc chip and that was the bottom scoop (oh yeah :D). My friend got the peach, watermelon & banana, the banana & watermelon were the stand out flavours. Normally for the both flavours when you order it elsewhere it has the fruity taste and thats it.. but the banana flavour was exactly the taste and texture of mooshed banana haha & the watermelon had the exact taste and feel of a crushed watermelon smoothie after each scoop :). Without a doubt the best tasting choc chip & Banana/watermelon Gelato I've had to date :)!! Will definately be back and recommending this place :D!!

We went here at 7:30pm, who would have thought they'd be open.... The shop was alive and buzzing with chatting customers and energetic and friendly staff. We had coconut dairy free in a cone and chocolate in a cup. Really big servings, great "real" flavors with "real" coconut chunks. The staff said that all ingredients to make their product are fresh not flavoring or artificial additives which really comes out when you devour these tasty treats. Easy to find at the west end of the strip with loads of parking. Good prices, lots of choice and coffee too.
