How Logan Square and Pilsen restaurants feed neighborhood gentrification in Chicago - Eater Chicago

"Furious Spoon is a ramen joint that has faced backlash for replacing long-standing Mexican establishments in both Pilsen and Logan Square. It has been criticized for being unfriendly to families and catering to a narrow group of customers, although it claims to have had a positive impact on the community by providing jobs and increasing safety." - Mina Bloom

Good service and tasty food. With a handful of vegan options. Our server was very friendly and was able to attend my dietary needs. I gave it four stars since I ordered a rice bowl and not a ramen bowl lol. Still tasty!

For a first time experience, I felt meh leaving this place. I went for the experience of soup which is what Ramen is (from what my friends told me). I finally wanted to give it a try. Our waiter answered our portion-type of question about the soup with telling us to just get the rice and two servings of meat instead. I didn't come to Furious Spoon for rice and meat. I came to Furious Spoon, for a bowl of Furious soup; not a bowl of rice and two sides of meat. If I you want rice-and-meat then head to Chinatown because there's plenty of it there. The "Fury Sauce," was even more a fail than the waiters responses. I poured half of the chili powder stuff and it barely made my mouth water; just a tad barely. There wasn't much Fury about their sauce. It's not like the kind of Hot Wings that could make you cry from inhaling their dangerous yet delicious aroma type of Fury. As one of the previous reviewers put it, "Tomato Paste." For a first experience, I have very little inclination to come back.

Awesome atmosphere, quiet place. Food was amazing, I ordered the sweet chili shrimp rice bowl and my boyfriend had the "furious" ramen. The staff was friendly and really made us feel welcome! Our server made suggestions and was just in general awesome!

So close to home and so good. No waitress, they take your order as you walk in then pay and take a number with you to your table. Hubby and I sat at the bar, the bartender was very sweet. My hubby had the gucci bandanna and he was not disappointed! The glass is small but it packs a punch! I had the Japanese lager because who doesn't enjoy a beer after work on a Friday? I had the vegetable ramen and added the fury sauce, egg and tofu. I would've enjoyed it more with shiitake mushrooms but still delicious. My hubby had the chili shrimp with kimchi ramen the added the egg and more of the spicy powder which was excellent but too spicy for my taste. Loved the fact that they have the option of ordering a 40 oz miller high life.... it even gets served in a paper bag! Phenomenal place and we will be back!

I really liked this place in Pilsen. It's a quick youthful spot where you can get some tasty Ramen with various fillings. I had the chicken which consists of: a tasty broth, 4-6* chicken dumplings (gyoza), fried stringbeans, spring onions and ramen noodles. Delicious large portions. The chop sticks got tedious for me, as I was very hungry and pressed for time so I asked for a fork. I know. That is a no-no but hey, a B was hungry. You walk in. Order. Pay. Take a numbered sign to a seat at picnic styled tables. They serve your hot bowl of yummy stuff. You eat while listening to local artists perform their latest music over a very loud sound system and voila! That's it. There's street parking outside. The bathroom was clean. Atmosphere is young, loud and dark. Food = tasty and filling. Staff was nice. Prices about $15 per person inc. 15% tip. Stays open late. If you're on 18th street in Pilsen check out the Furious Spoon. It's good stuff.

Been here twice now and loved it both times. Amazing ramen accompanied by awesome hip hop and a friendly staff who helps you pick the right bowl for you. I come back whenever I am in town

This meal was as easy as abc. Order at the counter, sit down, short wait till lunch was served. Noodles tender, Broth rich, toppings that wont get a chance to see the bottom of the bowl. Loved watching the benito flakes dance atop the chicken shio. I was excited to try this place (great location in pilsen) and left excited to return. HipHop played over head was just icing on the cake.

I really enjoyed this place! The food, the atmosphere and music were good. Customer service wasn’t too bad, our waiter was cool and attentive. I’m sure I’ll return. I enjoyed the Shrimp Dynamo Ramen, it wasn’t too spicy and it’s very flavorful!
