As a street food like place, you can't ask for more with live performing in a casual and relax environment. I had spicy garlic shrimp rice, the portion was big and delicious. You can taste the freshness of the shrimp, it comes with a piece of pineapple which helps a lot to make the taste even fresher. Very tasty! Long q, but very fast service. To go pack is much easier and friendly. It also provides the sink to wash your hands after the meal. Very thoughtful! So far the best one on island, I'll try more to compare in the future!

Each dish - be it the Butter Garlic Shrimp, Spicy Garlic Shrimp, or Tempura Shrimp - comes with seasoned rice and a slice of pineapple, providing a simple yet satisfying meal. The highlight was obviously the shrimps, which, especially in the Butter Garlic Shrimp, were brimming with umami courtesy of the garlic butter. The Tempura Shrimp was a familiar comfort dish, the sweet chili dip adding a pleasant kick, though it didn't leave a lasting impression. Given the reasonably portioned meals and the relatively affordable price point, Fumi Shrimp is certainly worth a visit, especially if you're in the area. However, while it's worth trying, it might not be the place I'd go out of my way to visit again.

We ordered a few butter garlic shrimp, spicy shrimp and chicken katsu to try. Food came quick. The spicy shrimp had the perfect spice level. The butter garlic shrimp were perfectly buttery without tasting too oily. Definitely recommend Fumi’s over Giovannis!

I heard great things about this place. Alot of recommendations by YouTube. We came here for lunch during a Circle Island tour and to my disappointment its not that good. Lol. I had a better garlic shrimp plate over at Waikiki from a food truck. Not sure what's the hype about. But the garlic butter shrimp plate was nothing. It was plain butter drizzle over shrimp, only chopped up garlic pieces over, but no garlicky flavor, no mac salad, just 2 scope of rice. Shrimp was large and cooked well, but simply not that garlicky flavor I was hoping for.

I was able to experience Fumi's at the new location with my family visiting from out of town. Being this is my first visit as a resident, FUMI'S does not disappoint. This place lives up to the standards in quality of food and quality of service. The systems that they have in place to feed the masses are truly mastered and would come back here again :)

I haven't been to the Kahuku in years and fumi's did not disappoint. The shrimp were huge and delicious. I wish I had known that more sauce was definitely needed for the rice and shrimp if you want to eat all of it. I got two plates, one i just wanted the shrimp- I thought that would at least get me a dollar off, but it was the same price. The spicy garlic and salt & pepper were killer. This definitely made me want to hit up Northshore more often. I'd only had Giovanni's before this and always wanted to like the spicy but it had too much Tabasco vinegar taste. I definitely enjoyed this so much more- the shrimp seemed bigger and the spicy was a true spicy that added to the overall garlic flavor. Fumi's has definitely made me want to make the long drive to Northshore more often, can't wait to go back cue the drooling

Made a stop here during our bus tour and WOW was this delicious. I got the spicy garlic shrimp plate which was so addictive. The rice was fluffy and hot. Everything was perfection. All their plates are around $16 so its kinda expensive but definitely 100% worth it. Seating is plentiful and parking is rough so make sure to carpool...really wish they had one of these in San Diego but will have to come back to Hawaii just for these shrimpies!!!

There are 3 major players that most people mention in North Shore: Giovanni's, Romy's, and Fumi's. We've been to Giovanni's before and the combination of the long wait and price, the shrimp was okay. We heard mixed things about Romy's especially overcooked shrimp so we landed on Fumi's. Fumi's changed their location from their small stand to a nice building with plenty of outdoor seating just down the road from their old location. The line was not long when we visited. We ordered the spicy garlic shrimp and the standard garlic butter shrimp. A pleasant surprise was that you can ask them to peel the shrimp. The shrimp was very flavorful and was complemented with plenty of garlic. The rice had the perfect amount of stickiness. It was also nice that they threw in a bit of pineapple which was a nice little treat after the meal. It was so good, we ended up ordering another round. Fumi's has now become our go-to spot for shrimp in North Shore.

TL;DR: best garlic shrimp north shore - skip the others After trying each of the garlic shrimp/prawn joint, Fumi's is head and shoulders above both Gio's and Romy's (in that order) Regardless of if you go with the OG or the spicy, the shrimp are always the star of the plate. The sides are always tasty too - corn and pineapple are our favorites The one inconvenience is that Fumi's is cash only - this is your warning to prep and grab cash beforehand We'll 100% be back in Country and whenever we do, it's Fumi's all the way Mahaloz, Fumi's!

This shrimp truck was on our way to our destination... so we stopped over for a quick taste a little after 1 pm. Although there were quite a few tour buses, we were able to find parking easily. LOGISTICS This place gets busy since it serves tour buses, but the line goes by pretty quickly since shrimp plates are pre-packaged so they can serve you immediately after you order. Cash only. There is also a lot of shaded seating available under tents. They also have flush restrooms available (not porto-potties), so another plus. FOOD Hint: Since the shrimp plates are already pre-packaged, they aren't flexible about doing half spicy... however, you can ask (and pay extra) for the spicy sauce on the side. Great option if you want to try both. That said, we shared an order of garlic shrimp to try and had the spicy sauce on the side. The shrimp were big and juicy, and the garlic butter combination paired really well. The shrimp weren't fried, but they were soft enough to eat the shell (which is edible, if you're OK with it). Shrimp are served with rice and a slide of pineapple, which is standard fair here. No salad unlike the shrimp trucks in Haleiwa, but that's OK. The rice also had some garlic sauce on top to give it extra flavor... and unlike my experiences with Giovanni's, the rice wasn't gummy / mushy, I could pick out the individual grains. OVERALL Like a lot of other shrimp trucks... this tastes better than Giovanni's to me, even if the shrimp plates were already pre-packaged. You could actually taste and appreciate the flavor of the shrimp without being overpowered by their sauces. Worth checking out if you're craving shrimp as you drive through the area. Also less of a line.

I had passed by this place a million times, or basically every time I drive around the island. I had never stopped by there before until now. Why? Giovanni's. I used to think they were the king of shrimp, but after seeing such good reviews of Fumi's, I decided to give them a try. I arrived around 11:15am and there were already tour busses there with customers sitting on the bench tables outside eating their shrimp and listening to the live music, which was a brilliant idea on Fumi's part. The atmosphere is very chill with aloha vibes. The good thing about Fumi's is that they already have the plates prepared, so whether you want lemon pepper, garlic butter or any of their other flavors, the boxes are already preppy and you don't have to wait. * Note that they take cash only! The other good thing about Fumi's is that they have an outdoor sink where you can wash your hands, as your hands will get greasy after peeling off all the shrimp shells! I ended up getting the butter garlic shrimp plate for $16. It came with 2 scoops of white rice and a pineapple wedge. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't drenched in butter garlic sauce like their competitors. The shrimp are plump and fresh from their farm (not frozen), and they really let the shrimp shine on its own without drowning in sauce. This is one thing I appreciated most. I would definitely return in the future. The live entertainment really added to the overall experience!

My friend recommended this place as the best garlic shrimp truck on the island. We had Giovanni's and not too much of a fan. This was not that great either. We came and like 3 tour buses were there and some more tour buses pulled in. So it was a packed house for lunch. We ordered at the front, it'd cash only. They had a bunch of orders already made and stacked. I got the spicy garlic shrimp and my husband got the butter garlic shrimp, $16 each. My spicy garlic shrimp was pretty good, the shrimp definitely Luke warm, been sitting out. My husbands garlic shrimp was mushy. It was so mushy and not fresh. I would not come here again around tour bus time because they premade and just stack orders. Maybe if it was fresh it'll taste better.

Oh Fumi's.. my favorite shrimp spot. I love the spicy garlic as it's spicy but not unbearable. So if you like a kick - I'd recommend this. The garlic is just as amazing though. Also tried the shrimp tempura, was covered with panko crumbs so very crunchy and delicious. Shrimps here are large! Comes with rice and a pineapple slice. Lots of outdoor tables with shade, a bathroom in the back. Don't miss this stop when ur in the north short. It's the best one!

Bypass the other shrimp truck and come directly here ! Hands down best shrimp, service and price ! I happened upon this during my first trip to Hawaii on a tour I then tried the other one because everyone swears by it but it doesn't compare. Besides Fumis has tempura shrimp ! They have the classic salt and pepper and the spicy garlic. There is plenty of outside seating and good parking as well. Every time I come to visit family I come to this spot it also gives us a chance to drive the highway and explore the great beaches. Outside seating and wash station so you can wash hands before and after. Great shrimp fast service !

We received a recommendation to try this place from a local. We were already driving into the North Shore so we wanted to try it out. Basically a little side street restaurant off the 2 lane road. Road sign was a little hard to see, but we were able to find it. Looks to be a very busy place for shrimp. The food was pretty good. But they only accept cash. Thankfully we had some cash. We ordered the garlic shrimp plate, came with rice and a fresh slice of pineapple. The restaurant is off the side of the road so don't expect to sit inside of a restaurant. It's outside seating with huge canopies above. And the seats are picnic style tables. As we were leaving, several tour buses were there. So it definitely is a good place to eat at.

Our choice for shrimp when in the North Shore! Fumi's is a shack located on the side of the road, with plenty of picnic table seating off to the side. Ordered a bunch of plates to share - spicy garlic, lemon pepper, butter garlic, and salt & pepper, along with a chicken katsu. Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious, and the shrimps were plump and chunky. My personal favorites were the lemon pepper and spicy garlic! The chicken katsu was okay - our kids enjoyed it.

Visited here in May 2023 before they moved locations to Tanaka's Kahuku Shrimp. Plentiful portions and great staff as usual.

It's a cash only stand by the freeway. We parked in the back since all front spots were occupied at 12pm on a Friday. Despite it being busy, the line moved extremely fast. My two plate orders appeared within minutes after being placed. The employee was super patient even as I ran off to find my friends because I ran out of cash! - Butter Garlic Shrimp ($16) with additional Spicy Garlic sauce ($1 for 2 dipping cups). I was a bit underwhelmed, but the butter garlic sauce was great - umami and mild with a sweetness. I thought it was wasted on the shrimp, which did not have good texture. The flesh of the shrimp was soft, slightly springy, and a little mealy. The shrimp were also deveined with shells on, but they missed 1/3 of the poop vein on at least half of them. The rice was alright; it was somehow mushy and chewy at the same time. I still liked the rice with sauce better than the shrimp. The spicy garlic sauce had a moderate kick. On the plus side, our slice of pineapple was ripe, sweet, and extremely juicy. - Chicken Katsu ($16). I had a bite of my friend's plate. He was really impressed by the katsu, but I was not. The outside was lightly battered and crispy. The flavor was okay, but the breast meat was dry. When our group finished eating, some washed their hands at the freestanding station. There was also mongoose hanging out next to our car, which was pretty cool.

I visited 4 taco trucks while visiting the island and Fumi's was by far the one that had disappointed me the most. It's right by the popular Giovanni's; its just along the road so it's convenient to visit. It seemed VERY popular at the time we were there and they had plenty of seating, but the food just didn't meet our expectations at all. The shrimp was small, wasn't entirely cleaned, and we barely tasted the flavor of butter nor garlic on the shrimp despite ordering the "Butter Garlic Shrimp" :( The rice was also very mushy, perhaps we just visited on an off-day but either way our visit wasn't very memorable for us to want to visit again. Pros: service is FAST; they had boxes ready so we were immediately given our food after paying.

Fumi's is, in my opinion, one of the best shrimp food trucks! We ordered the spicy c garlic shrimp and POG juice. So much garlic and it definitely had a kick to it! The shrimp was also nice and big in comparison to a few of the other trucks. POG juice was a nice refreshing touch. Parking is also much easier than where the other food trucks are located. They're also cash only, so be prepared before you come. Cant wait to come back next time!

One of the fresh and most delicious shrimp I've had. Spicy garlic is one of the best. Their portion includes about 7 pcs of shrimp with 2 scoops of rice. Honestly it wasnt big enough for me, but it's not too small either. Their line is insanely long, but that's mainly because this is one of the chosen lunch spots for tour busses. Luckily we also went to this place as a part of tour bus stop so our order was placed well before we reached and was ready by the time we got there. They have beautiful live music with food. Overall it's a must try.

I wasn't the biggest fan of shrimp going into this place, and I'd hoped this place would changed my mind, but I left feeling slightly disappointed. For those of you into shrimp, there's really fresh shrimp cooked all sorts of ways in an affordable rice box. For me, it was a cash only shack far out from civilization selling about 6 shrimp and 2 small scoops of rice for $16, with many a tour bus crowding the small outdoor eating space. Despite the respectable crown this shrimp shack draws, the service and turnaround is fairly quick, and you get your food pretty quickly. There's a decent amount of outdoor, semi-covered seating but a more-than-decent number of people; you may have to get lucky or wait for a bus to leave for seating. A live singer was there to improve the ambiance. Overall, it felt quite nice despite just being on the side of the road. Food-wise, every box is super similar: a small slice of pineapple or two, two scoops of rice (coated with whatever flavor you got your shrimp), and 6-ish shrimp cooked however you like, as long as it's on the list. If you like shrimp and fresh seafood, it'll probably be enough for you, great! If not... The shrimp were fine, I'd say, but just fine. Hopefully you'll enjoy this destination much more than I did.

We got to eat here for lunch during an all-day island tour. Our tour guide did not lie when he said it was the best on the north shore. It was bumping when we came by on a weekday around 1pm, but honestly the line moved fast. Plenty of parking and seating, so don't be intimidated if it looks crowded when you pull up. The lemon pepper and salt and pepper shrimp were delicious! Such a generous portion and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Came with two scoops of perfectly cooked rice and small piece of pineapple. Had a bite of the spicy garlic and it was also very good. Sink to wash hands right by picnic tables and bathrooms on site. Tip: CASH ONLY! Bring cash. Honestly, especially if you're planning to hit up all the good roadside places on the island, bring cash or you'll be disappointed. Just up the road from Fumi's we stopped for dessert (tupig for those who know) and those vendors preferred or only took cash as well.

Visiting Hawaii for the second time and being a big shrimp lover, I was extremely excited to try this place out! This location was included in our tour and absolutely loved it! They have entertainment while you eat and best bet this place is BUSY. There are really long lines so be expected to wait. Luckily, our tour guide was able to order ahead of time so if you're visiting this place while on tour, I hope your tour guide does the same!!! The spicy garlic shrimp was definitely not a let down! It was flavored so well and really complimented the rice. Be prepared to get your hands dirty though because they still have their shells on. I wish they had provided gloves so that eating it would be a little easier! The bathrooms are also super tiny here. I think it just needs a bit of remodeling but granted that this place is POPPIN, I can see why they might not have enough time to do construction.

Got there at 9:45am. Had a 15-minute wait till it opened at 10:00. We were first in line to order. Other cars started pulling in, and then it got busy. We ordered a couple of spicy shrimp plates, one with no rice and the other original shrimp plate. I was very satisfied with the spice level I got. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. It was soft yet still had a firm texture. It was very tasty with lots of minced garlic in the sauce. The original had its own buttery flavor. We shared and had the best of all worlds. It was great timing, in and out to beat the crowd. I could have gone a second round with another plate, lol.

I haven't heard about this place before stopping by after our horseback riding at Gunstock Ranch. Saw it off the road and stopped. Much better flavor/seasoning than the hyped Giovanni's shrimp, for my taste. We got the spicy garlic. Love the seasoning, the shrimps are bigger and juicer than the competition. I love how they have the washing station because you do want to use your fingers to eat. Plenty of seating.

CASH ONLY! So excited to have tried Fumi's! It's located alongside the road in the North Shore. Lots of tour buses stop by, with handfuls of locals and other tourist. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp, and it was enough to share between two people. The service was extremely quick - with our order being ready as we finished paying. The shrimp reminded me of my Thai grandmother's cooking, always a good sign! Great balance of spicy, tangy, and sprinkles of sweetness. As always, we had to end the meal with a dole whip, no regrets! There was live music playing as we enjoyed our meal outdoors, and the guitarist kept us well entertained with jokes & songs. Such great food and vibes!

When travelling between Honolulu and North Shore and thinking road side shrimp stand, Fumi's is as representational as it gets. My first pics show the outside and the box of how you get your forks and napkins: this sets the tone of the place. This is straight-forward, basic, outdoor pic table dining. The process of finger dining is part of the allure. We ordered our garlic butter shrimp through the little window, see my pic, and you'll also see their limited menu (no substitutions). As soon as we paid (BTW, cash only), we were handed our box. This may seem unsettling that it was pre-packaged, but in our case their food turnover is so quick that our shrimp and rice were piping hot and freshly cooked. We then grabbed our forks and napkins, and found a picnic table seat (family style). So are all the bare amenities worth it - yes. It's an experience and the shrimp and rice were quite good. The shrimp are cooked with the shells on, so you'll be elbow deep in shrimp juices, garlic and butter - 2 out of 3 of these are great. The shrimp are fresh, juicy, rich and succulent. I loved the ample garlic. If you look at my pic, you'll see the chunks of garlic on the 2 scoops of rice - super garlic rice. The pineapple slice was a nice after meal palette freshener. There is a washing station available, and you'll need it. This is a no-brainer stop for us.

I understand the food trucks are social media trendy, but Fumi Kahaku is a hidden gem. The garlic shrimp is my fave! Portioned nicely and cooked right. I did not get an overcooked shrimp, and nothing was dry. It was garlicky saucy and easy peel. You can just suck that shrimp so good. Wink. Each combo comes with rice and a small slice of pineapple. Drinks are not included. Please order. The passion orange is so good. My husband and I brought our own water, too. We also order the chicken katsu because my husband doesn't eat seafood. Even that was delicious. We also ordered the shrimp tempura, and omgosh, it was so light and fluffy. If you're in the area, check out Fumis - the OG.

I'm in love! The tour bus I was on made a stop here for lunch. It is surrounded by beautiful greenery and ponds. There is amole parking for visitors. Plenty of seating for everyone. I ordered the spicy garlic shrimp. Best shrimp I have had. It was a nice balance of garlic, butter and spices. It wasn't to spicy but packs a slight punch. The shrimp is big and juicy. Full of luscious flavors. Yum! The dish is served with white rice topped with a yummy sauce. It is also served with a sweet slice of pineapple. My daughter ordered the garlic shrimp -not spicy. It was also drop dead delicious. They have other options for their shrimp dishes and beverages. It is located off the road with a view of the natural beauty of the island.. Support this lovely family business and give it a try. You will LOVE it!

The last time I visited was in 2017, I'm glad they are growing and have upgraded from a food truck to an actual building! FOOD - Butter Garlic Shrimp ($16) - Spicy Garlic Shrimp ($16) not that spicy, but had a slight sriracha taste to me. I did notice they used to include a small side salad. But now its just 2 scoops of white rice and a slice of pineapple. PARKING: plenty of parking along the street. It can get busy at times, as a lot of the tour company's include this as one of their stops.

I was super unimpressed with Giovanni's last year. The line was long, parking was difficult, and food was mediocre. This year, I made it a point to find a new shrimp truck and found out about Fumi's on a random blog. Rather than a truck, Fumi's is an actual building. Parking and seating were easy. There's also a hand washing station with soap available. I was even able to pay via Venmo since I didn't have cash. Butter garlic shrimp was AMAZING - Super flavorful and garlicky. I honestly wish I got extra sauce on the side for the rice. Shrimp was large and easy to peel. No issues there. I finished the entire plate in like 10 mins lol. Definitely a better alternative than Giovanni's!

This place lived up to its hype with amazing tasting shrimp and chicken katsu. Each dish was quick at the window when you ordered and hot. There were lots of tour buses there but plenty of seating, live music and good food. You can find this great place on the North Shore, but be careful, you will miss it driving by quickly.

A friend recommended this place because they harvest shrimp from their own shrimp farm. The location was nice and spacious, lots of seating room and a place to wash your hands after which was great! We got the garlic shrimp and spicy shrimp. The shrimp were very large! I really liked the spicy kind, but the garlic was missing lots of flavor. You can buy extra sauce in the side for extra, but I think they should try to offer more to the customers. I would recommend going to Giovanni's for their Shrimp Scampi, then come here for the spicy flavor. Best of both worlds! Give it a try and decide which rivalry location is better!

We came upon Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp by a Sights and Bites Tour we bought from groupon and I'm so glad they brough us here because their spicy garlic shrimp was so yummy. Will definitely try this again whenever we go back

The line was insane! We tried their lemon butter shrimp, spicy garlic, and chicken katsu. Lemon butter shrimp: large fresh shrimps. The sauce was very lemony. Loved it! Spicy garlic shrimp: shrimps are big and perfectly cooked. The sauce was very garlicky, so be prepared for garlic-breath if you order it! Chicken katsu: the katsu was soggy, and it didn't come with the original katsu sauce from Japanese restaurants. My least favorite of the 3 we ordered. The rice was soft but a bit chewy too. I liked that it came with a slice of pineapple.

I think I've been to Fumi's 3 or 4 times but haven't gotten to write a review yet, so here it is a few months late lol. The shrimp plates come with two scoops of rice with generous sauce poured over, 6-7 jumbo shrimp, and a slice of fresh pineapple. The garlic butter is my all-time fave, but if I have someone else to share with, I like to have a couple of the spicy garlic too. I wouldn't order a whole plate for myself, but only because I feel like the spice is just a tad too much that it overpowers the garlic sauce. The sauces aren't too oily, and the shrimp are so easy to peel. I also love that they use Japanese rice (all over the island tbh lol) which is superior to jasmine rice. If you come on a weekend, the line will be LONG, especially with the tour buses that come through consistently. But on weekdays it's a pretty short wait to order and get your food. They have a handwashing station next to the outdoor picnic tables for you to wash hands (with soap!) before and after you're done eating because this stuff is made to be eaten with your hands. Parking is okay, just be careful pulling in and out off the road. There's ample outdoor seating with large red tables and benches - don't be afraid to share a table with strangers! And the last touch I love are the trees hanging over the shade, whose leaves scar when you carve in them. There's countless couples' initials written on these tree leaves!! Fumi's will forever be the go-to spot when I come to North Shore!

6/28/22 When In North Shore, you have to have the Garlic Shrimp Plates! The competition is really getting fierce over the years with who has the best Garlic Shrimp Plates! We had to stop again to get some Shrimp, Shrimp and Mo Shrimp after having it for lunch elsewhere today (Jenny's Shrimp Truck in Haleiwa). We had to come back to Fumi's which has been a staple for us over the last decade and compare the new spot to which is no longer our secret spot. Looks like Fumi's have grown so much over the years. We got 2 Spicy Garlic and 1 Buttered Garlic and 1 Chicken Katsu again for my son who wasn't feeling the shrimp peel of all days today! Each plate is $16 and soda/drinks are $2. You get 8 pieces of Shrimp here deveined with shell on with 2 scoops of rice and a side of corn and a slice of pineapple. The sauce was around the shell vs sautéed inside the shell where the shrimp gets it too! While Fumi's has been a family fav over many of the other known places, i felt like today's meal needed more sauce. It was lacking today. I hate to admit that Jenny's which we tried earlier today is our new family favorite! There are so many shrimp trucks and at some point we'll get to all of them...if possible...ha! SYOY fellow yelpers!

This place was absolutely delicious and for the price you pay you really get a lot of food you're definitely going to be full. I ordered the spicy garlic shrimp while we were on a tour of the island in July 2022. I hope to be able to come back and visit this place soon.

Ordered the lemon pepper shrimp and it was delicious! Good sized shrimp and they had the lemon pepper sauce poured over the rice. Yum!

Fumi's offers delightful open-air seating, and during our visit on a pleasant Tuesday lunch hour, we were treated to the enjoyable addition of live music for entertainment. There is a washing sock in the dining area. I didn't see any chickens or roosters terrorizing guests. All in all, the actual DINING EXPERIENCE to eat the food was very good and much better than Giovanni's. The food was also pre-boxed and prepared when I purchased, minutes after I left there was a bus of tourists that stopped by so I may have just come at a bad time. The food was good but didn't taste as fresh. The shrimp kept sticking to the shells. I will say that the shrimp were of good size. Flavour wise, Giovanni's is a flavour punch in the face, strong and intense; this is its softer and gentler cousin. Service at the desk was also good.

A trip to Oahu isn't complete without garlic shrimp on the north shore! We stopped by as part of our tour on a Wednesday afternoon. Our guide had placed our orders in advance, so the food was fresh and ready once we arrived. I had the garlic butter shrimp and my husband opted for the lemon pepper seasoning. The flavors were delicious! We also ordered the spicy garlic sauce on the side which really brought everything up a notch. My only complaint is that the shrimp were not properly deveined on that particular day. Other highlights: 1. Locally sourced shrimp 2. Shaded outdoor seating 3. Live music 4. Ample parking 5. Hand washing stations and bathrooms Go check them out!

My friends and I stopped by Fumi's after zip lining nearby. I haven't been to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck so I can't compare. My friend who is a local told me Fumi's much better though. Unfortunately, it's cash only. Thankfully a friend of mine brought cash! I got #2 Butter Garlic Shrimp with Passion Orange Juice. You ordered from the left side and pick up your food on the right side. There is an outdoor dining space on your right. You can also wash your hands at the sink. Lots of trash cans lined up. I thought this place was well organized! There is also a musician who sings and engaged with the crowd. Do you know when the food is good? When no one is talking to each other and just focus on eating. That's exactly what I did. I normally don't like to touch food with my hands but when it's good, I will use my hands. I really like what I got. I also tried a piece of Spicy Garlic Shrimps and it does have a kick. Overall, love everything about this place. Glad we stopped by!

Delicious food stand on the side of the highway. The garlic shrimp was definitely better than the tempura shrimp but both dishes were good. We stopped by during the early afternoon on a weekday and while there was a line to order, our food came right out after we paid. Only outdoor seating is available but there is plenty of shade to sit and enjoy the meal. We enjoyed it!

Some good points: 1. the shrimp are bigger 2. they are freshly made after you order 3. they serve it with a side of corn and slice of pineapple Mine sad experience: 1. We waited over 20-30mins for one order of butter garlic shrimp order. Does Hawaiian shrimp takes more love to cook? There were a tour group and another group of four after us; they had got their orders... 2. It was lacking in flavor Overall, 3.5 if I can add 0.5 star

Overhyped. Logistics: -limited parking -lots of outdoor seating -bathroom & hand washing sink available Tip: -avoid the moon tour bus where they pre-make your meal and have to wait in LONG lines Dish: -spicy shrimp: it was ok, wouldn't get again -garlic butter shrimp: pretty good but I felt like I could make it myself. The pineapple slice was very sweet and delicious!

This is our favorite shrimp truck! My bf and I got the spicy garlic butter shrimp to share and it didn't disappoint. It was so flavorful and the shrimps were juicy. I think it needed a little more garlic flavor though but overall it was good! We would definitely come back to try the regular garlic butter shrimp. Cash only.

We all know that a visit to Hawaii wouldn't be complete without a trip to the shrimp trucks! We've all heard of Giovanni's but my friend recommended Fumi. It was on the way to Giovanni's we gave it a try. There was ample seating as well as shade. I got the spicy garlic shrimp. The flavoring was impeccable. I shared this with my parents so we could try more things. The shrimp was super fresh. I loved finishing it off with a nice juicy slice of pineapple! Personally enjoyed the flavoring on this much more than Giovanni's but if it's your first time I would recommend going to both and seeing for yourself! They're pretty close.

Food truck in the middle of nowhere! Our tour bus stopped here for lunch. Picnic tables lined up and a man performing for tips was there doing his best to entertain us. Got the spicy garlic shrimp and the shrimp were huge and delicious! Spicy but not too spicy. If you happen to be in the area it is worth a quick stop visit!

Stopped by this touristy place on a guided tour. The garlic shrimp was good, the spicy garlic version was even better, the sauce went well with the white rice. The shrimp were large & popped in the mouth. As for the con: the shrimp were only partially peeled so it was a hassel to eat & your fingers will get sticky. We still prefer Sam's Kitchen garlic shrimps, its peeled & had superior seasoning, not just drawned in butter. There was a hand wash station & small bathrooms in the back, lines will be long during peak hours.

What a delightful spot full of flavors and specializing in shrimp. There is plenty of space to sit and eat and they have the dole whip! I had the chicken katsu, which was really good! I found the rice well cooked and the chicken to be pretty well salted. Yes, it was nice! And the guys behind the counter were patient as well as helpful. I liked the live performer who sang fun songs and told jokes between!
