A Secret garden café where books and coffee meet. Escaramuza feels like stepping into a quiet, leafy refuge tucked inside the city. It is set inside a beautifully restored early 20th-century house & from the moment you step past towering shelves filled with literary treasures to the peaceful patio at the back, it feels like a secret haven for anyone who loves to slow down and savor the little pleasures of life. You wander through shelves of beautiful books before finding your way to the peaceful patio in the back, which makes the whole experience feel a little magical and removed from the bustle of Montevideo.
The latte was smooth and delicious, and the lemon loaf was flaky and full of fresh, bright flavor. The space feels welcoming, calm, and refreshing, with warm service and a gentle, unhurried atmosphere that invites you to linger. Prices feel fair for the quality and experience, and the combination of a thoughtfully curated bookstore with a serene garden café makes this a truly special spot. Highly recommend!
