This store is definitely interesting for camera and photography enthusiasts, with a wide range of products and an interesting selection. However, my experience with customer service left much to be desired. The staff became warmer and more welcoming after I made a purchase, which isn’t ideal for someone visiting the store for the first time. A more consistent and welcoming approach would make the experience much better.

Where do I begin.... Maybe let's start with best camera store in Canada? Unless you can find me a better source for all your photography needs... Which is highly unlikely. I recently got into film photography, after being surrounded by photography, literally my whole life... I'm surprised that I haven't seriously gotten into it earlier. Whether your needs are for digital or analog photography, Downtown Camera has you covered. Nigel (I hope im spelling that correctly) is incredibly knowledgeable with analog photography, and helped me through every step of the way. All staff for that matter is very knowledgeable, and show a willingness to help in every way. They have an incredible range of used equipment from many eras, among mordern equipment. You can honestly shop with confidence here knowing that your equipment with be both tailored to your needs, and function as they should. Downtown camera also have an incredible image development team. I was so shocked to find out that I can have images developed, scanned, and printed within the same day. (If need be) I'm filled with joy that there are places like this bringing a huge revival to film photography. Thank you to everyone at Downtown Camera for all the incredible service you provide to us! Thank you for all the inspiration, and motivation! Great service and selection. Friendly staff. Have shopped here many times and always a good experience. Bought a used lens last year; had some issues with it when I got home. Customer service was great. Membership provides nice savings if you frequently develop/buy film or do your own development.

I recently had an outstanding experience at Downtown Camera in Toronto, specifically with Chris in the Service Department. Over the past few months, I sought assistance for repairs on my Fuji X-E1 camera, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. From the very beginning, Chris was incredibly helpful and demonstrated a deep knowledge of my camera and the necessary repairs. What truly impressed me was his commitment to keeping me informed throughout the process. He consistently updated me via email about the progress of the repairs, explaining what needed to be done and why. His communication was not only timely but also concise and well-articulated, making it easy for me to understand each step of the process. Overall, my experience with Downtown Camera and Chris's exceptional service has left a lasting positive impression. I highly recommend them for anyone needing camera repairs or assistance. Their professionalism and dedication to customer service are truly outstanding.

Exceptional Customer Service. The postal strike is giving everyone a headache but store manager Claudia just went out of her way - above and beyond - to help me out to ensure that I get hold of film before a deadline. Their prices on film for AMFM club members are superb too (30% cheaper than elsewhere). Highly recommend this company.

The staff here are very attentive. There were two staff members right at the entrance who asked what I was looking for and directed me to the appropriate counter. After that, I only had to wait a few minutes before another staff member came to ask how they could assist me today. The staff are all friendly and work extremely quickly. It’s a very professional place with a large customer base. The prices are also reasonable. I bought a Kodak Ektar half-frame camera and a roll of Kodak 200 film. Everything was great.

Just got my digital photos taken today and was super impressed with their service. The staff were genuinely nice (I think it was a gentleman named James who took my photos) and took time to make sure I was happy with how i looked with the shots before proceeding. They even sent me multiple versions of the photo with varying brightness (just in case the main photo was rejected) - so I felt they really cared about customer needs! I dont think other studios would even bother. Will come back and recommend to friends!

I needed an expedited shipment on a camera for trip I was leaving for, and these guys were great to deal with. The Canada Post strike was on, and they made sure my item got shipped by courier the same day. I spoke with a few camera shops across Canada, and Downtown Camera was by far the best to deal with, providing me great advice and options. I really appreciate the extra effort they made to help me out. 5/5 stars!
