Old timey kinda joint. Be chatty or be quiet at one corner you'd be fine both ways. Simple English can be understood when ordering. Cash only. Bring food in from the shops nearby if you feel peckish but clear up after yourself. Local football is on when there's matches. Oh also, you're gonna smell like a cigarette eventually, smoking or not.

Relaxed and unpretentious water hole. Has quite a cult following so you end up meeting a lot of interesting people there. Prices are also really decent and the bathrooms are clean (huge plus when wearing white sneakers). P.S. Rating scale 1 (🤬wish I could lodge a complaint at some regulator), 2 (👎it sucked), 3 (🤷‍♂️neutral), 4 (👌I recommend) and 5 (😁 to return).

It was the first time since I arrived in Frankfurt that I was exposed to open and violent racism. I asked the man working at the bar, who was wearing a t-shirt with a muscular body print, if I could have a beer, please. And he replied: "We speak German here." And he continued his racist behavior all night long. I definitely do not recommend you to go.

Walked in for a quick beer… the atmosphere was non exsistent and there was smoke everywhere. Walked to bar feeling like everyone was watching and felt very uncomfortable trying to ask for a drink as the guy serving the drinks was pretty cold and rude. Got the feeling like outsiders weren’t welcome. Also had to go to ATM for money as it seems the bar still operated like it was stuck In 20th century but maybe that’s my ignorant opinion. One positive is that the beer was cheap. Maybe we came on the wrong day as some of the other reviews seemed to be a lot more cheerful.

The pub around the corner. Good for smokers, fair prices, beer is not bad at all and you can play darts there. Not recommended for people who aren't football fans especially when Frankfurt plays (Eintracht fans come here often). Overall good for a casual night with close friends.

Great place to grab lunch. Big menu with lots of options. Burger was best we've had so far in Germany and fries were very fresh and tasty. Chicken mac and cheese was one of the best dishes I've ever had in my entire life, period. And fun decor! Definitely recommend to anyone in Heidelberg.

A friendly, popular and very down-to-earth local pub near the Bockenheimer Warte tower, serving a wide range of beers, including Binding Romer Pils, Binding export, Andechser Klosterbräu dunkel, Kutscher Alt, Tucher Hefeweizen, Flensburger Pils, all on draught. They also have bottled beers if that's not enough choice for you. Food is traditional and filling German pub fare, and there are some vegetarian options. We found the staff to be very helpful and reasonably efficient, although the interior is rather dominated by the large TV screen showing soccer. The clientele are a mix of students and down-to-earth locals, who took great interest in us! (I doubt many expense-account travellers venture here...) The only downer for us was that smoking is permitted at the bar, which does rather drift across the rest of the pub.

Only ordered a small drink here as although I'd been recommended this bar I didn't like the vibe I picked up on entry. It does look really nice but is a bit of an unwelcoming locals place so despite the decent beer list I was keen to get out after one drink.
