I really wanted to love this place! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. However, my fiancée and I were pretty disappointed with the vegan and gluten-free cheese pizza. For over $20, we definitely expected more. The cheese wasn’t melted at all, the crust was bland, and there was hardly any sauce, which made the pizza really dry. Neither of us could finish just one slice. Maybe it was just an off night, but based on the reviews mentioning great vegan options, I had higher hopes. I love that more places are offering inclusive menu items, but I think it’s important for restaurants to really taste-test these options before serving them.

I ordered and did not visit the restaurant; therefore, this rating will only describe the food itself. Out of all the vegan options they offered, I chose the: “Vegan BBQ Chicken Cheddar Ranch” Pizza. Here is my Rating and a short explanation. The Pizza itself was delicious! Had I known it was that good, I would have ordered a larger size! I rate this pizza a 4.5/5. Here is why: The Crust was perfect and soft! The toppings were also nicely chosen and prepared. All in all a great combination with a great taste. The only thing that is stopping it from being a solid 5/5, it was a little bit dry. Perhaps, it was only dry because I ordered it and therefore had to wait for delivery; which can effect the results. Nevertheless, this is a great pizza place that I would like to and will recommend. Thanks for supporting the customers decision, to go against animal cruelty and offering vegan alternatives. Great pizza by the slice location. Really enjoy all the specialty slices. Just seeing the display of all the fun and interesting pizzas had me excited to try as many slices as i could. Also the layout of the place itself fit well with the concept. Chicken parm Light on flavor was expecting more of a "punch" or wow factor since visually the slice looked promising. Pepperoni Little hit of sweetness from the honey is nice. I feel like the hot honey is the hip new thing on pizza and because it's good. Chicago dog Interesting idea, was hesitant on getting this one but glad i did. Tastes great and great mixture of flavors and ended up being my favorite slice. BBQ Chicken Plenty of chicken, love that! What youd want from a bbq chicken pizza.

Fair price for the fat slices you get. This is a good, solid place to grab a quick pizza as the food is pretty good, comes out quickly, and staff is efficient. Small space to wait off to the side and as uncomfortable as it may be, you should definitely stand to wait because it's very easy for people to accidentally grab your order. Buffalo chicken - star of the show. I'm a fan of everything on this pizza, from the obviously buffalo sauce to the chicken to the blue cheese. Crust is thin and not a mouthful to get through. Works for the slice. Chicken and waffles - cute idea but not my favorite execution. Slice ended up being sweet and vaguely spicy but I found chicken to lack flavor. After warming in the oven, waffles also lose most texture and crisps up. Fun while it lasted but would opt for another option next time.

I can only speak to the slices, we haven't ordered takeout here but we enjoyed the ones we got! I tried the chicken and waffles, pepperoni and sausage, brisket bbq, and buffalo chicken. My fav was the traditional pepp but we enjoyed them all. I would probably give a 4 but the woman working was pretty standoffish, hardly heated our pizza and there were some flies flying around and landing on the pizzas.. so gonna have to round down on this one.

If you're looking for a family-friendly pizza spot that caters to all eating preferences and food allergies, this place is a gem! I tried their gluten-free vegan pizza, and it was incredible. Unlike most vegan pizzas, their homemade vegan cheese is truly next level, and the texture of their gluten-free crust was spot on--crispy yet perfectly chewy. If you're dining in, they also offer non-gluten-free vegan and non-vegan options by the slice, so there's something for everyone. All of the flavor combinations were outstanding. Highly recommend checking them out!

Dimos has a little bit of everything. They have simple slices, complex slices and crazy slices. Some of you purists from certain states or countries may scoff at some of the eccentric flavors at dimos, but to assuage all fears they have their basics absolutely down. The crust has that perfect, new york city crunch and chew, they've got a great sauce and quality cheese. I suggest that you try some of the more creative flavors such as the banh mi or the al pastor because while they are certainly things that are not normally on pizza, they are definitely delicious and worth your while. - written by my friend from NYC

Tried Dimo's the other day for the first time and it was good! I ordered a slice of the Macaroni and Cheese pizza and enjoyed it. My boyfriend ordered a slice of the pepperoni and enjoyed his as well. I really liked that you could order just a slice of pizza vs an entire pizza. Among the best places in Chicago to grab a quick slice of thin-crust NY style pizza-- Huge slices with unique and creative flavors/toppings and reasonable prices ($5.50/slice)! It also has excellent vegan options, delicious for both vegans and non-vegans. Their signature pizzas are seasonal (hoping that they bring the banh mi pizza back soon), but their normal pizzas are consistently available. I got 2 seasonal pizzas-- the Speck de Luna & Vegan Elote Pizzas, both of which were excellent, especially the Vegan Elote. I normally don't love vegan cheese, but this one tasted great--creamy and intensely flavorful. Overall, service was quick and friendly. For what this pizza place represents (quick and dirty)... the pizza is amazing in some surprising ways. We lived in Bucktown for a handful of months and walked by Dimo's a number of times (kinda shaking it off by the curb appeal, each time). We made mistakes by doing this because it was surprisingly, much better than we anticipated. The flavor combinations, alone, are something to appreciate. If I had more time in Chicago, I'd definitely be coming here for quick slices or drunk slices (probably too much).

As you can tell from my past reviews, I don't leave many unless I really have to. I should leave more good than bad, but I have no time, however I made time today to make this one. I walked in there to get lunch today for the umpteen time. The cheeze pizza was all burnt as usual, but this time, all the selections were burnt, I would've chosen a different pizza but I couldn't. I'm from New York where the best pizza in the world is made, and Dimos came close to the taste of that pizza from New York then anyone else in Chicago! However, lately and for maybe the past few years the cook that they hired has been burning the pizza it's always burnt. Its sad and terrible that they let one bad cook spoil the broth!!!! It's a great tasting pizza so--this is my promise if they stop burning the pizza I will take this bad but sincere review down but until then this is going to get out to people so maybe when they start losing business they'll see that they cook is costing them customers.! Pictures to come. That's not going to be difficult. I can go back any day and get a picture they're always burnt.

Ordered takeout here and make sure you plan ahead cause it took 70 mins. The crust was super chewy and soft. The speck di luna was pretty spicy but very good! The pineapple is fresh and I added balsamic glaze at home. The Mac pizza was pretty good too but I preferred to add hot honey and red chili flakes. I'll be back to they the Buffalo chicken za.

Probably some of the best pizza I've had EVER. The service is super quick, you just go thru and pick out the slices you want and they heat it up for you. They have so many unique flavors and the toppings all mesh well together! I can't even remember the name of the pizza with the potatoes on it but boyyy, was that one of my favorites! Even the chicken and waffle pizza was so good!! The ambiance is pretty casual/chill. Definitely my favorite places in the city!

Try the chicken and waffles pizza or the bbq chicken bacon ranch, super fire. Mac and Cheese even the Vegan Mac is super solid. We went to Dimo's pizza at 1615 n Damon Ave. it's a nice little spot with a hodgepodge decor, they encourage people to feel free to self decorate, some booths had graffiti, some had stickers, tables were etched and they had quite the display of bicycles hanging from the ceiling. They have a wide variety of pizzas; yes they have your sausage pizza, pepperoni pizza but they also have some out of the box pizzas. We had the chicken parmigiana pizza, the chicken and waffles pizza (Fried chicken, melted butter, mozzarella and homemade mini waffle bites on a house white sauce base, topped with orange-habanero honey.) this was a sweet and savory pizza the crunch of the waffles and the sweet and heat from the orange-habanero honey was exhilarating , the speck pizza (speck(kind like prosciutto ) arugula, ricotta and cherry peppers) was interesting; each bite was slightly different but tasty, and the Dad Bod pizza (Pulled pork, pepperjack cheese, and french fried onions on a mozzarella and housemade BBQ sauce base, topped with housemade spicy ranch) was my favorite, it had everything, sweet, savory and a little heat. I went to Dimo's for the first time ever yesterday with my friends! I've been in Chicago for years now, so I'm surprised I've never heard of it before! I thought it would just be some other normal pizza place, but I was pleasantly surprised. They have their normal pizzas and their signature pizzas which rotate out every so often. I ended up getting the mac n cheese pizza and the elote pizza. I thought both were really good, especially since each slice is only $5.50 and they're pretty big. The ambiance was pretty cool too, it had a nice vibe with good music playing. The guys working there were pretty chill too, they were joking around and laughing with me and my friends as we were ordering. The pizza came out quickly as they just had to warm it up, so the service was good overall. Definitely recommend Dimo's!

Come get some hot fresh vegan pizza, but it's best for dine in because it has slow ass delivery. Dimo's is a small local chain, including this Damen Avenue location which is open later than most places around it. It has pizza by the slice or whole. Even goes for vegan options, so if you don't want a whole pizza, go light. They also have desserts and garlic bread among sides. Better get ready for what you encounter. It's pizza, but a few toppings are unlike anything you've had. They even have many that are vegan. It's about $16 for a personal. This is big enough that a couple people could be satisfied. For sure it's not cheap, but it's better than expected. Most recently we got the Vegan Mac. It was like putting macaroni and cheese on a pizza, which seemed odd but good. This was topped with cheese and macaroni noodles. Cheese was plant based cheddar and mozzarella. This was melty like real like cheese and there was a lot, which must cost them a lot, so no wonder why it's as pricy. For more food options, they also have garlic bread. It can also be made with the vegan cheese. They even have brownies that are vegan.

Great place to grab a quick slice of pizza! This casual restaurant has the most unique pizzas including a good variety of vegetarians and vegan options! The size of the pizza slices are well worth the cost. Staff is friendly and helpful. My favorite so far is the buffalo fried chicken and Mac and cheese pizzas. Just a note- When they warm up your pizza it gets pretty crispy. Not my preference so I plan to ask them to cut the time they toast in the oven.

Just moved into Humbolt park, came from Jefferson Park which has some incredible pizza , Phil's Pizza d'Oro, Pete's, and Dinos, so I was a bit hesitant to even try. I know, such a baby, lol. I refuse to pay for someone to bring my food, cold and expensive, so ordered online, seems no one orders via Phone around here. Pepperoni and white cheese pie. Soooo yummy, we were hooked. The crust was perfectly crisp and soft, sauce with a tiny bit of heat but smooth. I don't do spicy! We ordered 2 medium and it was perfect for us 4 with leftovers, got to have left overs! You can REaLLY tell if it was a good pizza when it's almost tastier the next day. You'll really love all they give back to the community even more. You can spend your hard earned $$$ here and know it spreads thru the area. Pizza with a consciousness!

Most people there were stoned and didn't really care about customers in restaurant (the door was locked when I arrived!). Slice was fine (3/5), but no refund is just fraud.

We visited from Minnesota and the Amtrak was super late. We were supposed to arrive at 3pm but didn't until 10:30pm. So glad this place was open!! 11pm on a Wednesday night and it was a pretty full house! We ordered a full sized vegan sausage pizza. So good!! No after taste or weird texture from the cheese. Root beer was ... Root beer lol. Then we went back for a slice of the vegan Mac n cheese and a vegan buffalo chicken slice. We also went back before we left to the Amtrak again. Lol we only got slices that time. Still really good!!

Delicious spot for pizza! They do giant NY style slices of pizza and offer lots of unique toppings. They are open late too, which is great for any late night cravings. I've tried the bbq chicken and the mac and cheese pizzas. Both are super good! The slices are $5 each, but seems like a pretty good deal since they are big and heavy on the toppings. YUM!

In town for the weekend and I had stop here. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was the set up of the restaurant, definitely a nice hippyish vibe in there I loved it. Also spacious inside I was immediately greeted by some very nice and helpful workers. So ambiance and and customer service gets a 5/5 Now the pizza was actually better than expected. My Bf and I got single slices for $5 a piece which isn't bad considering a single slice is HUGE, definitely reminds me of NY pizza. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza and the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza, I loved both of them! We would've tried more but they were out of our other choices, but that gives us a reason to return :) Pizza gets a 5/5 Overall I will definitely be back and I definitely recommend! They also have a lot vegan options!!! I would recommend just going in to get your pizza, it's best fresh :)

I have gone to Dimo's so many times in the past few years, and am always SO appreciative at the sheer breadth of options they have - particularly the vegetarian and vegan ones, as it's so hard to find unique options in those arenas! The only downside is that the vegan slices - although delicious - are often very oily and sometimes merit dabbing with a napkin. The slices are also so filling for their price, so it's very worth going. The service has always been great, and the ambiance is offbeat and fun - overall a great place to grab a bite by yourself or with friends!

One of the best pizza places I've ever been to in terms of ambiance, flavor, and service. The pizza slices were pricey, but so was everything else. BUT, the wonderful lady behind the counter gave me a discount for my second order (had to try the cheesy garlic bread). The pizza slice itself was gas (I got buffalo, blue cheese, and my ex got bacon, pickled carrots, tomatoes), but was a very weird combination of ingredients. There are normal slices, too. The cheesy garlic bread is a must after they freshly warm it up. The graffiti, the art, the hanging bikes, the stickers, half the tables are covered in art and the other half aren't, all make the place unique and a must go to. Edit: I've come back to update this review, as my girlfriend and I are no longer together.

Great options for vegans here! That's why I went to pick up a pie for my vegan girly. Got the Mac & cheese with green onions & as a dairy eater I have to say I'm really impressed by the vegan cheese! I wouldn't have known it wasn't real cheese. Noodles were perfectly cooked & soft, onions are crisp & flavorful, crust was good too! Wasn't my favorite pizza flavor ever, but absolutely going to be back to give 'em another try! Staff were really quick & nice people too!!

Dimo's is always a must when you are craving pizza! It's open late and they have a big variety. It's not your common pizzas toppings they have Mac and cheese, Buffalo chicken, Bahn mi, Chicken and waffles, etc. Did I mention they even have vegan options! Which is amazing because I can vegan pizza by the slice. Dimo's offers whole and pizza by the slice. I've tried different vegan ones but by far one the best ones is the Elote pizza. Their crust is crunchy and each slice it thin and a good size. I usually get two slices to try different toppings.

i think this is the best pizza i've ever had. in town for a festival and was told to try dimos out. ended up having it 2 nights in a row for that elote pizza LOL. the most genius and yummy thing ever created. very laid back with colored lighting at night along with trendy songs playing. whoever's on aux has good taste. the staff on both nights we went were super sweet.

First lets agree that there is no such thing as BAD PIZZA!! Just Good Pizza and GREAT PIZZA!! I'm going to need to order from Dimos again before I can decide and here's why... I'm an east-coaster when it comes to my pizza. I like it in triangle form, I want to fold it, I want the crust to have a crisp-chew to it and my toppings to accent the pizza but not overwhelm the flavor to the point it feels like I'm eating something that requires a fork and knife. With that said, a couple friends and I wanted something different and we had their BBQ Chicken Pizza. We chose Dimo's as they have GREAT reviews highlighting this pizza in particular. It arrived FAST! ((our delivery driver was awesome and came in on her bike)) The pizza was HUGE! ((the large is plenty for 4 or more)) The price was FAIR! ((compared to what you get from others in the area)) TBH this place reminds me of a nicer "Dantes Inferno" which I'm still heart broken they closed their location near me. So what was it that threw off my experience?? Well the BBQ Chicken Pizza comes with ranch on top and that flavor totally overpowered the BBQ Sauce and the other toppings. With that said, I like their style of pizza and want to give them another try with something more traditional. If you do decide to go with the BBQ Chicken Pizza, I'd recommend asking for the ranch on the side so you can DIP and control the flavor as it really does overpower all the other flavors. And NO.... I'm definitely NOT a Ranch Hater!! it was just too much ;-)

Pizza was way smaller than 20", see attached photo with tape measure! I order from here at least once a month and never had an issue. The last time I ordered, the pizza I normally get was way smaller than the 20" pizza they advertised. I wrote a pleasant email saying I hope this was a one time error and that I wanted to bring it to their attention. No response. I waited 10 days before coming here in hopes of someone from their organization acknowledging a customer that is displeased. Coming from the restaurant industry for 20 years myself, and being in charge of responding to social media posts and emails, this is just wrong. Don't neglect your customers for too long or they will go elsewhere and not come back. If a customer of yours takes the time to write an email saying your pizza is 17.5" and not 20" it's because they care. I hope your organization sees this and pays a bit more attention to the people that help support their business, or more accurately, who used to support their business.

We got 3 of their 12 inch pizzas for a picnic! They were all really good, but we were a little disappointed by the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was still really good, but as Dimo's probably most well known pizza, I was expecting it to be better. The Mac and cheese was a little dry, and I was expecting their to be some sort of spice/flavor to it. Still really good and would get again! Our favorite pizzas were the elote then Florentine then Mac and cheese. The elote was SO good, and I'd definitely get again. I was with my vegetarian friend, so we didn't get any meat pizzas, but I'd definitely want to go back and try some of the ones that they have on their menu. I didn't order or pick up the pizzas, so I can't speak to their restaurant, but the pizzas were picked up when we wanted them. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

Dimo's knocks it out of the park like clockwork. Their classic pizzas are well-executed, their specialty pizzas are always interesting and delicious, their ranch is fire, and they are consistent. I've tried probably 10 different pizza places that deliver to my area and Dimo's is my favorite. Strong recommend.

This is the first pizza place I've tried in this area so I was super excited! the crust has a nice crunch & the toppings are unique. you can buy by the slice and it's super reasonably priced. You order at the counter and they call it out to you when it's ready so I can't say much about the service other than the cashiers were polite. I went on a Thursday night & it was surprisingly easy to find a seat. Will definitely be back again!!!

I really like Dimo's. I typically describe Dimo's as a New York lite pizza shop with a California free spirit. The pizza crust is thin and comes in large slices like they do in New York but the pizza toppings are way free spirit, Chicken Penne toppings, Chicken and Waffles, vegetarian slices as well as vegan. There are so many varieties to chose from which makes it so fun to eat and less boring. I have even tried the salads from Dimo's which are pretty good. Of course, what I like most is the price. A couple of slices will fill you up for under $10.00. And if it's payday, you can splurge on their spirits selection from a Daisy Cutter to canned sodas and more. The dining room is spacious and can accommodate large crowds with their overly long booths or enjoy your slice on the couch while watching a movie which they have shown from time to time on the wall via a projector.

2-1-2024. Ordered the 20" Pep Sausage for work. It's definitely not worth it. There were hardly any pepperoni or sausage, mostly cheese. It was embarrassing. I wish I took a photo.
