"Do you know that place Dallas BBQ? There’s one on St. Marks and First Avenue. Whenever I eat that early, I always think about how my family would celebrate major family events with the early-bird special at Dallas BBQ because it was cheaper."

Really good. We enjoyed our visit to Dallas BBQ Chelsea on our recent visit to New York in February 2025. I'd go as far as to say that it was the best value and most enjoyable evening meal that we had whilst visiting the city. We happened upon it more by chance than planning. We were walking back from Pier 57 & Little Island back towards Times Square and really fancied a good steal and some BBQ food. Checking out reviews we found several places that offered good ratings (we don't generally dine at anywhere less than 4 to 4.5 stars) but appeared quite pricey with $$$ & $$$$ ratings. So when we dropped on Dallas BBQ, saw how busy and popular it was, combined with the reviews we decided to try and get a table. As soon as we entered it was warm, the staff were friendly, very polite and showed us to a table towards the back. There were lots of families dining with young children, couples and friends dining, so a good mix. Our waiter was helpful and his service was prompt. We didn't have anything entrees, just mains. My wife had a steak, cooked perfectly rare, as she wanted, whilst I had the double rack of pork ribs, a really substantial and tasty rack that took some finishing. We accompanied our meals with an iced cocktail, a great choice and recommendation by our waiter. We stayed for about 90 minutes and enjoyed our evening meal, the atmosphere and especially our drinks. We came away feeling that we'd had a good meal, with excellent service, with the best value meal that we'd had in the city. We'd definitely eat here again. When we returned to the city two weeks later we looked to eat at Dallas BBQ again but sadly ran out of time. Maybe next time 👍. I would add that it wasn't just the waiter service that was good, i was really impressed with the staff who cleaned the tables after guests left. Their attention to detail, not only at laying the tables, cleaning the tables but also in cleaning under the tables and chairs, was very good. It was reassuring to see that, a good attention to detail and reassuring to see, especially when it came to cleanliness 👏. Really good, relaxed dining with healthy portions and excellent service. Level 10 Google reviewer with over 1,200 reviews with 2 million views plus 14,000 photos with more than 60 million views and still going strong 💪. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

During a blizzard I arrived and half the restaurant was empty, yet the Englishly challenged hostess tells me to join a line of people also waiting, bewildered, for an open table. I gathered soon that it was not due to lack of space but because all but one waiter had taken break at the same time, in which case the incoming customers should just have been assigned to that one working waiter. Fifteen minutes later, with half the restaurant still vacant, we are seated flush against another solitary customer, so needlessly dump-holing customers' comfort for the waiters' convenience. Upon being seated, instantaneously the waiter (same guy who took his sweet T on break) asks us what food we want to order, and I waved him away since we had even looked at the menu. As for the good, the food when finally ordered was delicious and affordable, as were the drinks. The older gentleman waiter who replaced the young-blood serving us was very nice. Bathrooms clean.

The location of this branch is perfect! We chose it specifically because it’s not too crowded. The food was delicious, and our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

I love some Dallas BBQ. Unusual order the rotisserie chicken with a side of yellow rice. The wings are a nice size and is enough to be its own meal. The menu has plenty of options. There are beers cocktails and non alcoholic drinks. What is worth noting is that their early bird special is still the same price. A half rotisserie chicken with a choice of side and a piece of fresh cornbread is only $9.99. Nice to see you can still get a good meal that doesn't break the bank. The cake pop at the end was a nice touch.

OMG, I am from Texas here for a birthday party for my bestie. I had the watermelon and apple martini frozen margaritas, both small and had a buzz. I later split another frozen apple. Someone bought fried chicken, shrimp cocktail, and fresh made guacamole & chips as appetizers for the table, and I really got full from that. I liked the texture of the guac, but it could have had more seasoning. The fried chicken wings were cooked all the way through and very crispy. The sauces they brought to dip it in were great. The shrimp cocktail, I just like my shrimp a little cooked, so I am not the one to ask. But I ordered the seafood platter for my main dish (2 cod fillers on a bun with lettuce, 1 crab cake, and about 5 shrimp with side of coleslaw & baked potato - had to add a $1/each for cheese and bacon bits). I wasn't expecting the crust to be beer battered, I was expecting crunchy like flaky texture. The cod & shrimp were good. The crab cake just tasted like something I would buy out of Walmart frozen section. Nice crowd and staff were attentive. I know I was at a BBQ place, but I'm from Dallas, so I know what our BBQ tastes like😍.

My home away from home. All food is quite good for the concept. The margs and big drinks are great, and will get you messed up pretty damn quick. Always great fast service and I love bringing friends, family and dates there. Overall one of my favorite guilty pleasures in the city. Just wish the TVs throughout the restaurant would play important sporting events. Then I’d be there way more often.

The service is very good and the food delicious. The cocktails are excellent. You don't need a reservation, everything is very fast, clean and friendly. Recommended.

I read every single comment before coming here so I genuinely wasn’t sure what to expect but my experience proved every single negative comment wrong!!! First of all the drinks were sooo delish. We got them with an extra shot and boy did that do the trick! They had quite the buzz but were also sooo tasty. I got a Miami Vice - half pinã colada and half strawberry daiquiri. And then I got the half baby back ribs with cornbread and fries. The fries were crisp to perfection, the cornbread was moist and the ribs fell right off the bone! We had a wonderful experience. And the restaurant was clean & the servers were so nice. Would definitely come back for a good meal and great drinks on a budget!

Yelp
Upon walking in we could smell the barbecue and it was decorated nicely for the holiday. The staff that greeted us and served us were very friendly and attentive. We used to eat out here a lot as there was one in our neighborhood, however haven't been here in a while, it will need to put it back in our list of good food to eat more often. We started with the 1/2 order of the vegetable tempura which was delicious. It consisted of several crispy fired vegetables that were piping hot and cooked to perfection. The ribs, friend shrimp and baked potato were served hot with great flavor and good barbecue sauce. The corn bread was hot and delicious! I would only recommend an additional hot sauce that could be added to food other than Franks, but other than that this place was 5 stars for sure. We will definitely be back for some good barbecue. The end of the meal treat of munchkins dipped in chocolate were a nice surprise and a little seeet treat at the end!

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin. First of all, the service was slower than a dial-up connection. We waited 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, and when we finally were, our server looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there. The food? Disappointing is an understatement. My ribs were dry, the fries were soggy, and the cornbread tasted like it came straight out of a vending machine. Don't even get me started on the drink -- watery and lukewarm. For a place that hypes itself up as BBQ royalty!! this was more like a sad cafeteria lunch with loud music. I came in hungry and left hangry. If you're into overpriced food, bad vibes, and sticky menus -- by all means, enjoy. But as for me? Dallas BBQ, you've officially lost a customer.

Yelp
When I'm in the NYC I have to stop here they have the best drinks in town it's always a great experience here I love the Hennessy Wings very good and so is the service..

Cashay C.

Yelp
Rude manager! Food gave us food poisoning! Dirty seating! Wet seats from water dripping onto tables and into seats! Horrible service!

Mike J.

Yelp
You just can't go wrong when visiting this Dallas. So many times I've been here and never have I been disappointed. The tempura vegetables. Cooked just perfectly. The always steaming hot piece of sweet corn on the cob and my favorite. The sticky wing/shrimp combo. Follow it up with a Texas ginger ale and water. And I am ready for a nice senior nap.

Yelp
I sometimes stop in at the Dallas BBQ in Chelsea because it's almost a given that I'll have a delicious and filling meal. This time was no exception. On this occasion I ordered honey dipped chicken over cheddar-scallion waffles. I've got to say that it was so good. I was blown away because I just didn't expect it to be that good. Very tasty, with a tad of sweetness to the waffles, and the chicken was quite crispy underneath a nice honey based sauce. I was impressed, and I'll probably get this next time. Highly recommended! My companion ordered a half rack of ribs, coleslaw, and cornbread. The ribs had a nice smoky flavor to it, and it's also recommended. Overall it was a great dinner at a reasonable price. The tip was automatically added, which is not my preference, but our server was very nice and personable. I'm sure that I'll keep stopping in occasionally as I've always had great dishes here. If you're in the area then I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Michael D.

Yelp
We wanted BBQ and this place was packed with a small line. We really enjoyed this place. First the sauces are on point. Sweet and tangy that makes you wanting to lick your fingers. Their ribs are Tender and flavorful. We thought they are very good. The staff are wonderful and make this place fun.

Yelp
Doy 4 estrellas porque la comida no es la mejor pero las bebidas son excelentes. Siempre que voy me tomo 2 o 3 Texas Margarita, las recomiendo

Yelp
Came here for drinks for a friends birthday and I ordered a Negra Modelo. Upon drinking it I'm like something is off with the taste then I looked at the bottle and it says best by April 2025. I bring it to the waitress attention she comes back like this is fine to drink even though the date has passed. Not sure if she thought I wanted a free beer; but if you're giving me expired alcohol what else is expired back there? At that point I was turned off.

Yelp
I just want to say this place has gone down hill. I came here for lunch with my mom and aunt for the first time in years. It felt nostalgic going back. The place I once thought was awesome was pretty gross on the inside. I asked for a table for three while my mom and aunt parked and we couldn't be seated until they walked in. Might I add, there were over 20 open tables? Distasteful. The honey basted chicken is a classic and fantastic. The cornbread is always good too. Our service was fine but I was getting some serious chilis/applebees vibes here. I did get the early bird special so my meal was $9.99. I also got a side of their Mac and cheese. It was good but nothing to write home about. The cheese was comparable to velveeta ? At the end they gave us what looked like cake pops. I did try one but got some serious red40 vibes. Tasted so artificial. I will definitely never be coming back even though the chicken is incredible. Dirty. Bathroom smelt rancid. Fries were gross. Childhood memories were left at the restaurant today.

Yelp
This place is in a great location. We went in for lunch. We were seated immediately and attended by our server just as quickly. There's tvs playing old throwbacks and it has a dinner style layout. The menu has a lot going on. It was my first time eating at Dallas BBQ so I went for something simple, fish tacos, it stated it's new on the menu. We also ordered the boneless sticky wings and lemonades. The lemonades tasted like water. I took one bite of the fish tacos already knew it wasn't going to sit well with me. The sticky boneless wings on the other hand were pretty good. I'm sure the drinks are great and if I were drinking I wouldn't mind the food being mediocre and unseasoned. Tried it and probably won't again.

Trevor B.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch at Dallas BBQ, and we had the 20z drinks as usual. That's always good. So, I had the salmon and shrimp Platter. The shrimps are delicious. However, the salmon was dry, so I pit some barbecue sauce or some salad dressing on it and tasted much better.

Charlie M.

Yelp
Like, it was exactly what you expect. When u get steak, shrimp, and ribs for $23, it's an immediate red flag. It was simply, mid. The vibes were great. Nice staff. Not saying don't come. Just temper your expectations. The ribs are definitely the best thing. Shrimp is a hard pass. Steak was just, okay (4/10). I'd get the ribs and steak combo. Fries mid, no flavor. The chicken was scary looking. Overall, it's a 3.5/10 for food, 9/10 for vibes. Won't be back. Oh yeah the onions were awful. But! They come take photos and print them for you. Best part of the night.

Omar M.

Yelp
Great service.... Fast! Food was average but the cornbread was really tasty. Love the paper menus.

Nathalie M.

Yelp
This place it's in a great location and employees are very friendly, hospitality 10/10 . Ryan (Indian gentleman) saw my daughter crying unstoppable, and right away he grab a cake pop and gave to her to make her feel better. Food it's great, good prices and kids friendly. We will definitely will come back again when we come back to NYC.

Kathy O.

Yelp
This restaurant has multiple locations in Manhattan. Their roast chicken is amazing, tender and delicious with their sauce. They are a wide variety of choices on the menu. The serve staff is attentive and the decor is about the same in each of their location.

Shanina S.

Yelp
When I visit New York City I never go home without going to Dallas BBQ's to get my favorite item on the menu. The wings. I have been here many times and everyone comes her for the Hennessy Wings. The first time I came I ordered the Hennessy Wings and the Sticky Wings. I was in love with the Sticky Wings. Personally, the Sticky Wings are better. They also know for there signature drinks. This time I ordered the Hennessy Colada. Believe me when I tell you, you will not be disappointed with the size and price of the drink. There are many Dallas BBQ's in New York and sometimes depending on which one you go to they can be a hit or miss. Consistency is the key but they really hit the mark when I visited. The customer service was great and are waiter was really pleasant and attentive.

Yelp
Considering the cost and not having plenty of restaurants nearby here, I love this place. Dallas BBQ is not fine dining but it does the job if you're looking to fill your belly with guilty pleasure. We came here on a Friday night and the only down side is that all party must arrived in order to be seated, so if you have that one late friend, make sure he/she knows it. Once seated, our waitress came by shortly and asked us if we wanted any drinks. She was very nice and friendly and I like that. I ended up ordering their honey blasted quarter chicken with fresh cut fries and corn bread and it was delicious. It was the perfect portion and price, considering I paid less then $20 which included tip and tax. Space wise, they do not pack their restaurant where it feels mad crowded. Instead it was spacious and I like that the C/E train was right outside their doorstep too. With all this said, if I needed to be nearby this neighborhood and have to find a place to eat, I wouldn't mind going back. I love Dallas BBQ since I was in HS and I would like for them to stay in business until I'm at the golden age of retirement.

Steven C.

Yelp
We really like this place. Is it a 5 star dining experience? No. But the food and drinks are pretty darn good. The service is friendly. It's not pretentious, but just yummy BBQ at good prices. Give it a try, would be my advice. If you like BBQ, you might like it.

Jia-Lian L.

Yelp
I did not have high expectations of this place but I was pleasantly surprised. I got the baby back ribs, which came with fries and corn bread. It was $13 which was very affordable. The ribs were bbq flavored and pretty thick in sauce...maybe a bit more than I wanted but the ribs were nice and were very tender. They weren't very big though. The fries needed more seasoning but they tasted fresh and was great with rice and pepper. Good texture and good amount of potatoes. The corn bread was decent but I've had better. This was very affordable for what you get and I would get this again...but if I come back, I would try something new.

Yo-yo D.

Yelp
This is Home for me so whenever I come home I have to hit this spot up. I've been to all the locations I live the sticky wings the fries and corn bread now I have to wash all that down with a henny pina colada. I come home between 1-2 times a year and we always go to BBQ's most times I visit the one on 42nd Times Square but it was raining and there's always a crowd there so I went to a different location. The food all taste the same the drinks are delicious and the vibe is chill.

David W.

Yelp
Tried to eat there. Arrived around 8pm on a Tuesday. Probably 20 customers in the restaurant. Party of 2. I arrived first. My colleague texted he was "on his way". Hostesses wouldn't seat me unless I provided a full order for both of us. I hadn't been shown a menu. I explained my guest would be there soon. No exceptions. Place a full order now or no seating. I left and we ate down the street for a lovely meal

Carly L.

Yelp
Pros: huge space (upstairs and downstairs), great for large groups/parties! Our server, Sam, was super friendly. Drinks are enormous and strong. Cons: the food was not great. The best dish was the broccoli tempura. The mac and cheese was some of the worst I've had; undercooked noodles and watery, bright yellow cheese sauce. The brisket was dry, obviously boiled. The ribs were okay, definitely better than the brisket but still disappointing. Overall, come if you want to get drunk with a big group of friends, but don't expect a spectacular meal.

Luiz Carlos S.

Yelp
Ana was our server tonight, and other than a hiccup with our food (for 6 people), the service was fantastic. And honestly, she has been on the top of her game, and made sure to fix the little accident. I've been to Dallas BBQ many times, over the last 11 years since I moved to NYC, and this is one of the most attentive servers I've ever had.

Gavin L.

Yelp
Dallas BBQ is a decent American BBQ spot. If you're looking for large portions, come here. We ordered two family portions, a side of corn and cole slaw. The combo meals were huge. The shrimp was very fishy, and not very flavorful. The ribs were not bad, but a little on the dry side. The chicken was drowned in BBQ sauce. The corn we ordered had a huge black spot right in the middle and a lot of missing kernels. I asked for a new one and they gave me one that was not much better. It looked like someone had already taken a bite of my corn. We also ordered some Hennessy wings. This was the real star of the dinner. The wings were HUGE and pretty tasty. They were juicy and definitely worth a try. Besides that, everything else we had was under par.

José R.

Yelp
This is a hard one for me to write as BBQs has been a staple in NYC for years. I've eaten at this restaurant for years and the majority of the times I've eaten here it's been at this location so to say I'm extremely disappointed is an understatement. A friend and I decided to come here for dinner. We noticed that they are now offering guacamole as an appetizer. They have the regular size and the Texas size. We ordered the Texas size portion. First, they claim the Guac is fresh and made to order. That's not true. The guac did not taste fresh at all. But the kicker is the fact that they don't fill the cup up with guac. They fill the cup with 2/3 of lettuce first then add the guac to the cup. So you think you're getting a Texas sized cup of guac when you're getting mostly shredded lettuce. I could not believe my eyes. We waiter for our waiter to approach the table. We explained to him the situation. His reaction was as if this has happened before. He tells us that he's going to "speak to his manager" to see what is going on with the lettuce. He returns about 15 minutes later with a larger plate of chips and a much smaller bowl of guac. No apologies or explanation at all. I have to say, BBQs is a part of the experience of living and visiting New York City. But this was a slap in the face to the community that has supported this establishment for decades. Some may think that it's only guacamole but, it's about the dishonesty. It's misleading to tell me I'm getting a certain amount of food and not get that. I even went back to the menu to see if I missed the fact that they're adding lettuce to the dish. This really put a bad taste in my mouth.

Ingrid S.

Yelp
I feel like I have a love hate relationship with Dallas BBQ. I feel like most people have a love hate relationship with them. However, my significant other's Mom loves the Dallas BBQ. Either she said it was kind of an ambiance thing to people watch or their "fun drinks". We came in this past 4th of July and it was surprisingly packed. This location is always surprisingly packed and I'm not entirely sure why other than that the one in the East village closed about a year or so ago so I guess the city is now limited for getting your Dallas BBQ fix on. I've never actually eaten here up until now. I think maybe ten plus years ago I had one of their fun drinks and gnawed on someone's jack daniels wing from their order and thought the wing tasted pretty decent. First off, the service here sucks. You may be waiting for a table if you come after 5pm for close to 20-30 minutes. Once you get seated, order everything you think you may need and want for the next hour because you may never see someone ever again. I went with a Texas sized strawberry margarita without the shots. It surprisingly still had a pretty good kick to it. For my meal I got the roasted bbq chicken sandwich that comes with fries and coleslaw and honestly for like ten bucks is probably one of the better deals on the menu. The chicken was actually moist and juicy and tasted like real roasted meat and not like a crap chicken breast they slapped on with sauce. I also tried the fried chicken wings without sauce, a piece of tempura vegetable, and a rib and those were alright. The bottom line I think with Dallas bbq is that you're not coming for the food. You're coming for the boozie slushies and getting something to nibble on. But I had a pleasant time until they started banging out 'I gotta feeling' by the Black Eyed Peas. Check please!

Journey M.

Yelp
Walking back towards Time Square, we ran into this dive that was packed. We took a chance and it was worth it. Chicken sandwich was delicious and so was the brisket sliders.

Fred T.

Yelp
We were in Times Square and my sister insisted we go to Dallas Bar-B-Que. We were to grab a snack and do some people-watching from upstairs. The place is huge!!!! We ordered a basic sampler and it was very tasty - good presentation. The big treat are the drinks. Wow!!! I opted for the Texas size Pina Colada - great presentation and very tasty. I heard some make comments the place is a "tourist trap" but do not fall for the hype......trap or not you will get a great meal with some great drinks and the staff is very professional and efficient.

Yelp
Haven't been here for years but I decided to give Dallas BBQ another shot after a very disappointing experience at the Flatbush location. I ordered the Smokehouse Combo which consisted of Brisket, baby back ribs and pulled pork with a baked potato as the side. The person who took my order was Masuf (So sorry if I spelled his name wrong) was super friendly and helpful with helping me figure out what to order. I give him 5 stars. The order came out very quick and accurate. It even came with napkins, wet wipes, extra sauce, butter---awesome! The only thing I wished was that they put the sandwich bread for the order aside because this was a take out and by the time I got home, the buns were soggy from being drenched with all the BBQ sauce. I did not know that the Smokehouse combo came with two sandwich buns. Maybe they should mention that on the menu. I will have to mention that next time for them to put the buns on the side so the buns don't go soggy and become inedible. I haven't been to Dallas BBQ in ages but I will say that when you eat here, all you will taste is the BBQ sauce. The meat itself does not have any flavor without it.

Lynn C.

Yelp
This review is in regards to my experience on October 31, 2024 at the Dallas BBQ location in the Chelsea area on 23rd Street and 8th Ave. (261 8th Avenue, New York City) Dallas BBQ Chelsea: Their website PDF Table menu promotion prices on their frozen drinks are a few dollars less than on their actual menu prices displayed in the restaurant, including hidden add-on, price up-charges for a particular flavor, etc. When I mentioned this to the restaurant's representative, he just disregarded what I said about the frozen drink price differences, in that the prices are not upfront, and not fully disclosed and displayed when placing orders. This is intentional, this is a scam, this is fraudulent, and it also is False Advertisement, and it's price gouging, and intentional misrepresentation to Unfairly maximize its business profits, at the expense of the consumer public. What a shame....

Ciara J.

Yelp
If you are looking for a touristy Times Square moment this is your place...and you should love a good rib and wing! I ate light (grilled shrimp) but my friends wings were flavorful and plentiful. The ribs looked good, but I have to be in that mood to feast! Tue drinks were the highlight for me--huge bowl glasses and a variety of flavors for your liking!

Chun M.

Yelp
Since my college days, when you wanted massive amounts of food on a single plate, Dallas BBQ is your place. The original one on 8th St in the Village is gone, but they have expanded around Manhattan and into the Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn. This one in Chelsea has been our backup, since my first job down on 23rd St and made a great place to grab a bite before or after a movie. You can order one of their huge drinks and be happy all night. I really miss the gigantic Onion Loaf. It's like the dinosaur ancestor of the Blooming Onion. We usually have to have 5-6 guys before we order that. You will wonder what species of bird the Sticky Wings come from because they are MaSSIvE! They are almost the size of turkey wings and dwarf anything you'll get at KFC. They are fried up and coated in sticky sweet sauce and you can order them 5 or 10 to a plate. I stripped them down to the bone including that weird piece at the end. Around the table we got the Classic Combo of Baby Back Ribs, Fried Shrimp & 1/4 BBQ Chicken, Beef Ribs and my Seafood Combo of Fried Cod Fillet, Fried Shrimp and Crab Cakes. At first I thought the fried balls were hush puppies, but they turned out to be fried doughy crab cakes balls with pieces of crab in them. Kinda interesting. The beef ribs were big honkers, but I thought they looked way bigger back in the day. Even still, we ended up taking a good portion of it home.

Matthew W.

Yelp
Portions are huge and you won't leave hungry. Never been to texas but definitely felt like I was there with this place. Food came out very fast as well.

Gwendolyn D.

Yelp
Today I went for lunch 2:00 pm dining alone i ordered the early bird special. When the food arrived I went to eat and dropped my fork. I couldn't see my waiter or waitress so I waited 5 min I saw her talking to a table of 5 or more people. She acknowledged me by pointing her finger 1 minute. I waited 20 or more minutes she never came back to my table . I went to the bar to ask to speak to a manager I was told he was busy. He never came to speak to me my issue was never addressed I never got a chance to eat my food because it was cold. After 3 min the waitress came to my table I explain about the fork she immediately handed me a fork from another table. The waitress needs more training in customer service and the manager should be fired for not having time to speak to his paying customers. I will recommend to friends and family not support this location and lastly the entire staff was Hispanic and I am black American. This was definitely racism.?

Dee J.

Yelp
We went at 1pm on a Saturday. It was not crazy busy. We were taken to a table immediately. They did not offer water but maybe that's not part of their service. The food was good but I forgot they don't allow substitutions unless you are changing out the type of ribs for $5. The drinks are always great. Our issue was the service. Our server...tempted to put her name here but that wouldn't be right I guess... She was there to take our order and then we rarely saw her. If we did see her, she was walking past our table without looking at us. We started to feel it was deliberate. We noticed she was more attentive to the white (or white presenting) customers. The tables with people of color had to get up to find her or call out to get her attention. The server never asked us if we needed anything or if we wanted to order something else. We had to call out to her (after she passed us again without looking at us) to get the bill.

patrick r.

Yelp
The chicken was delicious. The fries were old and flash refried, we had to seek out the waitress a couple of times to get refills on water.

Jenn B.

Yelp
So you know Dallas BBQs used to be the place to go for good food & drinks once upon a time. But not anymore. I ordered the sticky wings & its sad that they don't bother to pluck the feathers. I can understand missing a feather or 2 but this was disgusting. I had to remove 70% of the skin to even attempt to enjoy my wings. The shrimp and cornbread were overcooked. The pina colada was mediocre at best. We visited more for sentimental reasons than anything. My mom used to love eating at Dallas BBQs & since shes passed away we wanted to come and enjoy & think of the good times we had. We left disappointed instead.

Yelp
Solid place to take the kids.. The wings are pretty good and the kids enjoyed themselves

Yelp
I decided to go to a different location than I normal go to. I forgot that they had a location in Chelsea! Service was good. I tipped my waitress $20 for providing good service. My usual go to's are the virgin frozen daiquiri, which was refreshing, and the baked chicken with fries was satisfying. Their BBQ sauce on fries is a winner! On my half of chicken, I add the BBQ sauce that's on the table, tastes better than letting them add it to the chicken and cooking it that way. Just how I like it, it's not noisy like the other locations.

Yelp
Tasty food, nice atmosphere, but service was a little slow. The portions are so generous --- there's always some left over for lunch the next day!

Yelp
Ok, taking a look at my original review and (other than some shrinkflation) not much has changed here. Now (on the early bird, which is daily, 7 days per week) you get a full and plump half of a chicken, soup, cornbread and a baked potato for $9.99 for one person or $17.99 for two full meals. The drinks are now $8.99 for the 10 ounce, which is more than enough. Honestly, this was the best meal of had in a long time, and BY FAR the best deal, price-wise. They have someone taking your photos that they try to sell after you're finished...and that's a little annoying, but might be nice for tourists...but pass. I'm so happy that this place survived the pandemic. Staff was very friendly and it wasn't crowded.

Yelp
Now I didn't have that high of expectations going into a chain barbecue restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was good! It was definitely loud in the restaurant but we were able to have a conversation fine across the table. Chicken was moist, shrimps were crispy and the pulled pork sandwich was yummy as well. And my meal came with cornbread, which was great! Was it the best barbecue I've ever had? No. But it was hot, filling and great for a last minute decision.

Yelp
Dallas BBQ is your typical chain BBQ spot. If you want authentic BBQ then you might want to find another place. However, if you are ready for big A** frozen drinks, a plateful of so-so fried and bbq sauce-smothered food, and an opportunity to overhear some of the most ignorant conversations known to man, then this Dallas BBQ is your spot. My experience with this location has been up and down, however, I will say that most of my experiences have been up. I find that the earlier in the day you visit (eg late afternoon), the better the food and service will be. If you visit after 8 pm on a weekend . . . well good luck.

Yelp
Food is regular, not worth it. I placed an order for three people. The doordash guy gave me the wrong order. Called the bbq place back and a lady that answered my call said we'll it ain't my fault and hung up. I called again and asked for the manager and she put me on hold. When he finally pick up all he said was I not doing anything cause it ain't my fault. He wanted to give me a credit. When I said what about my family what the going to eat? He said I don't care. I yelled and he hung up. My wife called and she told him that either the food or the money back then he said ok I'll send you the food. He tried to tell her in a said voice that I didn't have to yell. After I paid he wanted to keep the money and not send the food.

Yelp
I always eat at the location on 42nd but this place was cool too. No wait time, plenty of tables available and the server was nice. Food was a 7/10 hence my two missing stars but the drinks were 1000/10

Yelp
Good Buffalo wings. Big portions. Steak is hard to chew, not tender. Baby back RIbs - sometimes good and sometimes not. Overall, it is a hit or miss in this restaurant.

Yelp
This is your typical tacky southern BBQ spot serving up giant frozen drinks that make you feel like you're on the beach. Their menu consists of a lot of classic BBQ options but they also offer some lighter ones like salad with salmon and quinoa. There's lots of seating available indoor and out and something for everyone on the menu. I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area and looking for something filling.
