"Coal Rooms make one of the best Sunday roasts in the whole of London. There, we said it. But this Peckham spot also happens to have a seriously charming little private dining room. A converted old public toilet - please bear with us - they’ve updated it to create a moody, candlelit space that’s perfect for six people. There’s no private hire fee or minimum spend but you’ll need to order their tasting menu or full Sunday roast." - heidi lauth beasley
"On Wednesday evenings throughout September, this Peckham Rye spot will be offering £10 per person off their five-course tasting menu." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
"Though Coal Rooms has shut its doors for the time being, the Peckham Rye spot has reinvented itself as the endearingly named Fat Boy BBQ. Open from Thursday to Sunday, there is quite literally nothing on this menu that we don’t want to eat. And if you’re questioning whether short rib, hot wings, or mac and cheese keep well the next day. Well, all we can say is come back to us at around midday on Saturday." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"Maximum capacity: 34 Minimum spend: £1800 Spending your night in an old public toilet might sound more like the birthdays of your student years than the sophisticated private dining experience you’re looking for these days. But that’s exactly what Coal Rooms has to offer. The converted Peckham station toilets is a moody, candlelit private dining room perfect for a grown-up birthday. Or to get drunk with some of your work crew while working your way through the modern European feasting menu. There’s also a semi-private dining experience available for groups of 10-16 using a room divider, with no minimum spend." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna
