Chosun Galbee combines an upscale vibe with a jungle-like patio, where you can grill premium cuts of meat and enjoy impeccable service in Koreatown.
"Nothing beats a big group Korean BBQ outing. And while Ktown has more options than it knows what to do within this category, go with Chosun Galbee for the holiday party. The large, modern space is great, the meat is quality, and unlike some of the other popular spots, you won’t have to wait outside for two hours until your table becomes available. Not to mention, there are several private dining rooms. Capacity: Private dining room for groups of 12-45." - brant cox, nikko duren
"Many KBBQ spots can feel pretty chaotic, with plates of kalbi flying out the door, pitchers of beer overflowing on every table, and a strict put-your-name-down-then-wait-to-be-seated system. It’s why we love Koreatown. But when you’ve got your parents and sister in tow, plus her newborn baby (who truly hasn’t learned any manners yet), you’re going to want something a little more low-key. Head to Chosun Galbee. Reservations are easy to make online, their outdoor patio feels serene and quiet, and you can let the sounds of bulgogi sizzling on the grill take you away as your mom launches into another rant about LA traffic." - kat hong
"Guest: Margaret Cho “Chosun Galbee was a place that Margaret was like, ‘This is absolutely the only place I like going.’ I let her do all the ordering. We got a mixed Korean barbecue beef platter with all the side dishes. Margaret ordered completely in Korean, so stuff just started hitting the table. There was a cold noodle dish with brisket in it that I would never have ordered, but it was really incredible. We had a lot to take home that day.”" - brennan carley
"Opened for 23 years now, this is Koreatown’s longest-standing premium barbecue destination (old-school classic Woo Lae Oak closed years ago). Chosun Galbee continues to draw fans for its tender, fatty cuts of short rib and marinated beef served with some of the best mul naengmyeon in town. It helps that the modern ambiance and elegant service are delivered every night." - Matthew Kang, Eater Staff, Mona Holmes
"A higher-end Korean barbecue restaurant when so many places seem to change hands or vary in quality, Chosun Galbee is a family favorite for the Korean community when they want solid service, a nicer ambience, and excellent beef. The cold naengmyeon is a must-order." - Matthew Kang, Cathy Park
