5 stars if it was on the idea/vision/people….unfortunately this place just doesn’t execute as well for me as the hype. The BLT was pretty good, the bacon burger was missing bacon, the cheese was not melted at all, and the meat could use a little more seasoning. Fries were solid. The prices are WILD. $45/pound for ribeye, even locally sourced, is bananas. I REALLY wanted to love this place. I get the vision, it just didn’t hit.

I can't say enough about the incredible quality of meat I've found at Carnivore. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshness envelops you, and it's clear that this isn't just any ordinary butcher shop. What truly sets Carnivore apart is its commitment to sourcing locally. Knowing that the meat for my beef stew comes from nearby farms (2 hours drive from the shop) adds an extra layer of satisfaction to every meal. It's not just about supporting local businesses; it's also about enjoying the freshest, most flavorful meat. And speaking of flavor, let me tell you, the beef for my stew was nothing short of exceptional. It was rich, tender, and packed with flavor. The folks at Carnivore take great care in selecting only the finest cuts for their customers. Beyond the quality of their products, the service at Carnivore was top-notch. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Shout out to Seth and Rob, they were friendly, patient with me, and kind. Appreciated gentlemen. If you're looking for top-quality meat that's locally sourced and bursting with flavor, look no further. Make Carnivore your go-to destination for all your meat needs—you won't be disappointed.

The bacon burger is unparalleled. If you are close and in need of lunch, look no further; the fish and pulled pork sandwiches are amazing. The selection of cut to order beef, pork, chicken, and lamb is something that cannot be missed and they have the highest quality of local ingredients I have come across. 11/10 would recommend to anyone in need of quality products for their next meal.

Great food, skilled and knowledgeable staff! Every time I visit Oak Park, Carnivore is on the list of places I vist. The Bleu Cheese Bacon Burger is Outstanding - always farm fresh and cooked perfectly!

Many thanks to Mike and the good folks at Carnivore for another beautiful rib primal, this one to be dry-aged for 70 days (hopefully)! There's no other team in Chicago-land that I'd trust as much as Carnivore to bring such top-notch beef. Thanks guys, stay safe and healthy. Me and this rib will see you in a few weeks.

Great service! Roast beef sandwich is delish! Fried chicken sandwich is good too. The seasoned fries are the BEST! They also have a nice selection of meats, sausages and seafood, some unique grocery items, local produce and flowers. Also picked up giant crab cakes, lettuce, lemon aioli & pate. When it’s nice out, grab a sandwich and eat at the park across the street. Food is high quality and a great price (sandwich + fries for $12)! I’m sad we did not try this place sooner. It’s definitely worth the visit.

One of the best pulled port sandwiches I’ve eaten. It was a large size, piping hot, and super moist. The bun was fantastic and held everything together from first bite to last.And the fries!!! The fries are seasoned so well. Absolutely coming back, often!

I ordered a whole white fish for stuffing and asked that the guys remove the bones. And this was done to perfection - nary a bone in the finished baked fish that was just so fresh and delicious. While in to pick up the pre-ordered fish, I spied crab cakes in the display. I rather offended the guys by asking if they were good. My company are a fussy lot but everthing I've had from Carnivore has been super, so I took three 1/4 pound cakes. And they were literally AMAZING. Scant filler, all crab, subtley seasoned. With just a little browning in olive oil and warming through at 350F for 15 minutes, served on mixed greens, this was a perfect starter for the meal. Thank you, Carnivore, for delivering - again!
