Beautiful setting with both interior and courtyard (no a/c) tables, capped by attentive and informed wait staff. The ceviche and mushroom tartar starters were delicious. Crab rice very good, fish was delicious (but a little salty - a problem we've experienced in Cartagena) and the brisket very good. Had the creme for dessert, sweet, but tasty. Can't give partial stars, but closer to a 5 than a 4, hence my rating.

this is one of my all-time favorite dining experiences. Carmen was incredible- my friends and I went on a Wednesday night and had the 8 course (maybe it was 7?) menu with wine pairings. So worth it. We were there just under 3 hours and loved every minute of it. The food was incredible, the wine was perfect and the service was so welcoming! We sat outisde in the courtyard and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!

As a local, I’ve had the chance to visit many places, but none compare to the quality of the food and service that Carmen offers. Additionally, the service is excellent, always attentive and friendly, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

Carmen is one of the best restaurants in Cartagena, an old Spanish house setting full of plants and a festive atmosphere. Reserve in advance because is a very sought after place for a casual elegant dinner. Great service and very knowledgeable. The menu is varied between local and international dishes.

Best tasting cocktails in Cartagena. Especially the El Dorado. The fish and brisket and pork were also all amazing. I think the fish & coconut rice was my favorite. The steak was good, but not as excellent as the other dishes. I would skip on the steak and order more off the non-steak menu.

We were excited to try out Carmen, after trying a few restaurants in Cartagena. Unfortunately, the food lacked some flavor. I would recommend doing smaller portions and concentrating on making the little portions more flavorful. The octopus was great quality and very tender. The ambience was amazing.

Outstanding service from the staff. Cocktails were made just perfect. Chef Felipe did an amazing job with the menu. You will not be disappointed if you choose Carmen as your restaurant for last meal in town.

It was a beautiful place with friendly and accommodating staff, but the food just wasn't it for me. The seafood dishes that I ordered all seemed to lack flavor and were also on the salty side. Dessert was okay. reservations are definitely recommended. I noticed people waiting to get in when I arrived, while I was seated immediately. I'd be willing to give them another try based on the service and atmosphere. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong dishes.
