"Bucktown Pub has been in the neighborhood since the 30's. This is definitely a low-key spot that is great for having a drink, and catching up with friends. They have a solid rotating beer offering and unlimited access to free popcorn. I have also been told that there is a great trivia night on Thursdays, beware of Fart Goat." - Lee Zelenak

"Bucktown Pub will host a 10-day pop-up inspired by the 1992 comedy Wayne’s World. The event will feature signature cocktails, themed decorations, and staff in costumes, with proceeds from certain drinks possibly going to charity." - Ashok Selvam

Like a couple other reviews recently, we were yelled at by the bartender for having water bottles recently when visiting. Our group of 15 then went and stood outside and he came outside to yell at us that we couldn’t stand in front of the pub. He then said we were “really great at listening to directions” when we were still standing there confused that he didn’t want us to go to bar. We’ll gladly take your business elsewhere moving forward.

I have frequently attended this bar and have always loved the atmosphere. However, the final time I will ever enter this bar, I had the worst experience ever. I have always entered this bar with a full water bottle and the establishment respects me bringing a refillable water bottle, however, this last time, a bouncer felt the need to take my own water bottle, even after I offered to dump the water out, because they could not allow “the size of the jug” I brought in. After multiple attempts to reason with the “bouncer” and after purchasing a beverage, they felt the need to kick me out of the establishment. It is extremely disappointing to enter an establishment you are familiar with, and be treated with such utter disrespect. I am dumbfounded with the staffing choices of uptown pub, and would not recommend stopping in their establishment.

Neighborhood gem. Regular here and made many close friends that hangout often. Love the place. Except Dylan - he is too nice and always great at his job. Totally sus.

Dog friendly says it all! There could not be a happier place to have a pint, with tails wagging all around you from joyful puppers! Their beer garden out back is very nice and feels secluded. I went for a doggy event and it was so much fun!

I'm old enough to remember the old regulars talk about Wally, the old owner, who shot himself in upstairs apartment back in the 70s. But while his ghost hasn't been seen in ages, not much has really changed despite the regular renovations and "improvements". It just goes to show that gentrification doesn't necessarily have to destroy a classic neighborhood joint. The faces may change, the property values increase, and the strollers get fancier, but folks still need a place to push back and relax.

I’m not sure what happened to this place but the bouncers are suddenly some of the rudest/crankiest in the city. We are regulars and will not be back.

I have lived a few minutes away for three years and never checked this place out. Went there yesterday and I was amazed. Quaint little bar, great drinks and great service. We had three different bartenders helping us out and they were all amazing. Will be coming back more often that is for sure.
