What a find!! We stopped in for a pie each on a cold day and absolutely loved our pies. We shared a pork & fennel sausage roll. Omg!! It was delicious! It was great there are tables outside to sit and eat. Perfect place to stop and recharge. We also buy our sourdough from the North Sydney store. Always great quality. You can’t go wrong the Bourke Street Bakery.

I recently visited Bourke Street Bakery in Marrickville and was absolutely delighted by my experience! Firstly, let's talk about the pastries - they are divine! Each bite is a burst of flavor and freshness. If you visit, you simply must try their special Ham and Cheese as well as Tomato and Cheese Crossties. You must try this! Moreover, I was genuinely impressed by the warm hospitality and excellent customer service provided by the staff. They were incredibly polite, kind, and attentive, making my visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that they truly care about their customers' satisfaction. Overall, Bourke Street Bakery is a gem of a bakery with scrumptious pastries and top-notch service. I highly recommend paying them a visit!

It's no secret that Bourke Street Bakery offers an array of freshly baked goods that are simply irresistible. From flaky croissants to artisanal bread, each bite showcases their commitment to quality. I particularly enjoyed the Tomato & Cheese Crosstie—a delightful blend of a croissant and a toastie, filled with tomato and cheese. Delicious!

The service from the lady at the front was great. The food and coffee were a total let down. The bacon and egg roll was really unpleasant to eat, the roll was stale and the eggs were cooked in an egg ring and barely warmed through. The coffee was honestly awful, very burnt coffee taste and the milk tasted off.

One of my favourite place for the best hot chocolate in town. The staff at Marrickville are the most friendly people, they tend to remember my order everytime and ask about my day, we always have a great chat. The ginger brule tart is my absolute fav and the chicken and vege pie. Hoping one day the meat becomes halal too so I can try the lamb roll which my friend loves.

Our server, a young lady, seemed completely bothered and rude while we were selecting items. Quite disappointed as this place always has welcoming staff and a good vibe.

Went here in the morning, when it was my turn and was telling the woman behind the counter what I wanted to order she cut me off in the middle of it because someone familiair to her entered the bakery. So far so good, until she decided she would service this person before me even. Very disrespectful, not hospitable at all, really unbelievable actually. I decided to simply walk out and take my business elsewhere. No excuse for this kind of service.

Of all the pies i had during my visit to Sydney, the pies at Bourke Street Bakery were some of the best. Really nice beef pie. Finely minced, good flavor and even ratio of pastry dough to filling. The lemon curd tart brought out an intense lemon flavor. I liked it! Their Ginger Creme Brulee tart is even better though. Good crispy top and pistachios were a nice tough. The tarts are a bit on the sweeter side.

I found this place by a complete fluke. I was hunting for wooden pallets down side streets in Marrickville (how hipster of me!) and we could SMELL this bakery before we could even see it. We literally followed our noses (just like our beagle) and found it. It was late in the day, we had already had lunch but the smell was just too good so we had to order. There was very little left in the cabinet and we ended up with a Beef Brisket Pie to share. OHHH MYYY GOD! Possibly the best pie I have ever tasted, I cant say eaten because I literally got 2 bites - my husband pretty much devoured the whole thing within minutes. So happy to have stumbled across this little place and will be back for sure. **After reading other reviews of this place and it's sister properties, I feel it's important to note that I have been living in Sydney for less than a year and at the time of writing this, I had not heard of Bourke Street Bakery, nor did I know that other locations existed**

Beautiful. The first one was in Surry Hills, but this Marrickville location is just as good, and usually less crowded. The muffins are crispy at the edge, and gloriously fruit-packed in the middle. The varieties of sourdough bread are stunning, and always deeply delicious. Have it as a breakfast treat with some ricotta and jam and you'll smile all day. The croissants are good, too, as are the brioches. Look, if it's breadlike and you can bake it in an oven they do it best here. Their coffee is exceptionally good too. It's warm and welcoming, with tables and colouring materials for kids (it's popular with families). There are outdoor tables for smokers, or for sunny days. Staff are great, even in the face of cranky customers who don't know how to queue properly. Every visitor I've brought here adores it, and asks to go back.

The first Bourke Street Bakery opened in 2004 and over the past seven years it's become a Sydney institution, with outlets now in Surry Hills, Potts Point, Alexandria and Marrickville. Luckily for the Marrickville locals, this spot isn't as ridiculously packed as the Surry Hills location, but it still draws a steady crowd most days of the week. Serving up breakfast, lunch and coffee, the first thing you'll notice is how amazingly delicious everything looks. Well, either that or the drool that's filling your mouth. To the right you'll find racks full of fresh bread, including their specialty sourdoughs (mmm, hazelnut and raisin). Straight ahead you'll see shelves full of sweet and savoury treats. If you're feeding a group (or you're just feeling greedy), you can buy whole cakes like the pear and raspberry butter, flourless chocolate or carrot. Or buy individual treats in the form of tarts, muffins and pastries. (Okay, I'm drooling already.) You've probably heard about the famous pork and fennel sausage rolls... But if you've never tried one, do it. Now! Otherwise choose from a great selection of warm pies, sandwiches and thin-crust slices of pizza. I pop in pretty much every weekend and I've never had a bad coffee yet. Waiting for takeaway always makes for great people-watching as kids get distracted by colouring-in duties and end up with chocolate smeared all over their faces... It's seriously that good.

I've never eaten a more delicious pie that the ones that are made here!! I've tried the chicken, the beef and beef brisket pie. So good and tasty! The iced chai and the lemonade in the fridge section are not too bad. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing! I'm not from the area, but I was lucky enough to stop by during the Sydney Fringe Festival. I had a lentil and capsicum roll, as well as a chocolate raspberry tart and both were absolutely sensational. The outside seating was perfect for having a casual meal and a beautiful coffee on a sunny late afternoon. I would highly recommend and can't wait to go back again!

Love the tarts, pies, sausage rolls & bread. Dont worry about the line/queue because service is always quick, but seating & parking are difficult to find.

Try the soy and linseed loaf! Also the tarts and muffins are great. The quiches are my favorite. The only bad thing is their coffee, and sometimes the bread seems more than a day old.

Great food. The baked breads are to die for! However, the coffee is crap.

The second Bourke St Bakery I've been to, it has a great selection of eats and the coffee is doable. Good seating options, but lets face it, I go there for the pastries and pies. I'm never disappointed. They seem to always have a fresh selection whenever I've been there. It's almost impossible to get parking there, so if you can walk or ride, do it.
