Boca Chica | Restaurante Mexicano y Cantina

Cute restaurant! I went here for the first time yesterday and it is a really adorable restaurant. It is more of a family-style Mexican restaurant vs. a Mexican bar restaurant. There were a lot of families here. I ordered the barria tacos as well as the ceviche and a side of rice and beans. The food came out relatively quickly and everything was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend checking this place out. The service was phenomenal and the food was equally as amazing.

This restaurant has a warm atmosphere and great food! You feel like family dinning here. I have grown up eating here with my family. Three generations all enjoying their food. These are the enchiladas and fried tacos that I crave! Bring the family in for the buffet and try something new.

This Mexican Restaurant has amazing food. I've always ordered the fajitas but this vist I took a chance with Pick 3 with a crispy Tacos, bean and beef burrito and an enchilada. It was phenomenal. My only complaint was I normal love their chips and salsa and this visit the chips tasted stale and the salsa wasn't as good as usual. I still give them 5 stars because in 20+ years that's the first time they didn't taste the same. My friends raved about all their different dishes. Definitely worth visiting.

It is a buffet style Mexican restaurant very nicely decorated inside. It costs about $20 per person and the meal price includes either coffee or a mimosa (this one tastes more like vodka orange). They have very good bread and desserts but the rest of the food was just ok. A few dishes were oversalted (refried beans and shredded pork), the shredded beef was chewy and the salsa was very thick and it tasted like plain tomato sauce straight from the can. Even the tortilla chips were not as good or fresh as they are in many local Mexican restaurants.

I have eaten at Boca Chica my entire life. I am 64. Everything on their menu is excellent quality and delicious. Plus, they use Fiestaware!!! ❤️ If you’re craving Mexican, just go. It’s authentic and family owned and operated and you won’t be disappointed.

The service is amazing. The food is even better than the service. If it's your birthday they bring you a special hat and a delicious dessert. I didn't take photos this time but a big fan of the shrimp fajitas. Kids eat free until 2:00 p.m.

Had lunch at noon on Saturday and it wasn't busy. Waitress was delightful, and the food was wonderful. The mole sauce is superb. Portions are generous for the price. I used to go here a lot as a child and loved it; I am pleased to say it is everything I remember.

Th manager/hostess lady was rude. She said we would have to wait to sit down. The place had two people. We said we understand if the waiter is busy at least if we could sit at our table instead of standing by entry way. The place never got crowded tonight either. Diego was amazing he was busy but good! Food was good. Soup could have been warmer. But I’d advise getting a much friendlier manager.
