Bloom & Plume is a vibrant coffee shop in Historic Filipinotown where striking decor meets imaginative, floral-inspired coffee creations for a delightful experience.
"The colorful facade, warm interior, and honey lavender lattes are what make Bloom & Plume one of Los Angeles’s most stylish coffee bars. Co-owner Maurice Harris has ample skill as an artist and floral designer and obsesses over both in his Historic Filipinotown cafe. Food is available too, including gluten-free vegan doughnuts and a bacon biscuit sandwich." - Mona Holmes
"Bloom & Plume, a popular coffee and flower shop in Westlake, announced its permanent closure. Founded in 2019 by Maurice Harris and his brother Martin, the Black-owned shop cited profitability and integrity concerns as reasons for closing." - Mona Holmes
"The flavors in Bloom & Plume’s coffee drinks are as bright and colorful as its technicolor purple decor. This coffee shop in Historic Filipinotown (which shares owners with the popular flower shop next door) is home to juicy, fruity, and floral coffees. Order their citrusy Future roast sans milk, and you’ll think you’re drinking passion fruit tea. Naturally sweet and fragrant are good descriptors for everything else on Bloom & Plume's menu, too, like lattes hinted with honey, lavender, and rose." - sylvio martins, garrett snyder

"From the bright violet accents to the glowing neon sign out front, this Historic Filipinotown coffee shop feels like someone pumped saturation straight into its walls. Run by the incredible Maurice Harris (who also owns the neighboring floral studio of the same name), Bloom & Plume is more than just a place for caffeine - it’s a form of magic and resistance. “The society that we have is not set up for me to even have a business, or to be successful,” he explains. “And so the fact that I exist is a form of protest, a form of resistance, a form of standing up for our rights.” Drop by any day of the week and you’ll find a diverse assortment of community-based events, like free budgeting workshops, underwear donation drives, and weekly meditations as well as the best-looking breakfast sandwich we’ve ever seen, which comes with a fried egg, arugula, Havarti cheese, and strategically placed edible flowers. Available for takeout, head to their website to place an order." - kat hong
