"Meet the IPA king of Nashville. Bearded Iris, named after Tennessee’s state flower, serves heavenly hops in Germantown. Homestyle, their fruity and aromatic flagship, is arguably the best draft IPA in the city, and they have double and triple versions of Homestyle, too. Grab a pint and hang inside where they have a pool table and movies projecting on the wall. Their porch is the perfect spot for lazy day drinking and playing catch-up with old friends when you need some vitamin D. They also have a West Nashville taproom where you can get a comforting bowl of ramen, courtesy of their in-house partnership with Black Dynasty. " - adam sloan

"Nestled inconspicuously on the outskirts of Germantown lies this moody (in all the best, low-key ways) brewery and taproom. Whether you pull up a stool at it’s stately mahogany bar or settle into a timeworn chair, its Old World ambiance is primed for telling tales over pints that keep on coming with good friends and new friends. And what’s more fitting than beer that tastes as distinguished as you feel here? Described as approachable in its elegance and unexpected in its nuance, it’s worthy of several pints. We’d tap that." - redpepper
"Local cool kid brewery Bearded Iris is putting out some of the most sought-after, hop-forward beers in Nashville. Located in Germantown, its original taproom is also its production facility. Although Bearded Iris has successfully dipped its toes in other styles of beer — such as fruited kettle sours, lagers, and pastry stouts — it’s crushing the hop game by cranking out a steady flow of dry-hopped, imperial, and double IPAs. A second location can be found in the Sylvan Supply development in The Nations neighborhood, which houses a much smaller brew system for R&D. Although you can still get some of the popular offerings found at the Germantown location, you’ll also find different, small-batch experimental brews here." - Jesse Valenciana, Kellie Walton
