Barista Parlor - East Nashville

Coffee was excellent, I got a vanilla late 1/2 sweet. Breakfast was good as well, the biscuit was very nice and flaky. Tons of seating indoors, and a good amount of parking in the lot.

Amazing atmosphere at this place and a great staff!! I recommend going to any of there locations. Thank you from your friends at ETSC!

I had heard a lot about the Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich and wanted to try it. I love a good biscuit. I was a little disappointed. It was dry and crumbly. I like a biscuit with a soft middle and a little crisp on the edges. I ordered it with bacon because I ordered the Country Sausage Burrito. If I didn't know it had bacon on it, I would not have known. The melted cheese was thicker than the bacon. The Country Sausage Biscuit had a good flavor, but the size was a big surprise for the cost. It was not much larger than the biscuit.

So I tried three different times to come here since the Google times are different than what’s posted on the building. It was still worth the three different trips out here! I have been riding motorcycles since I was little, and I am part of a vintage motorcycle club, so it was really amazing to see two of my passions, motorcycles and coffee, come together into one place! Every time I made it out here the coffee and the Matcha was excellent

This is one of my favorite places to get coffee when I’m in the area. Their bourbon vanilla latte is amazing. I would highly recommend that, if you're into sweet drinks.

First time here and I loved the interior. Super unique open concept. Got a cappuccino and the espresso was good quality, just didn’t love the bean they were using. Personal preference tho! Would come back, the barista was kind!

We had great coffees here, cool vibe, it would actually get a 4.5 from me because the bathrooms are disgusting. But other than that, loved it.

Great coffee (bar) tucked neatly away on a busy street. We accidentally stumbled upon the coffee bar - hidden in a sort of alleyway - while walking down the street, initially being drawn to the mural across the place. To our great surprise, we found Barista Parlor, a spatious place with great atmosphere. The barista was super friendly, and both the barrel aged and Vietnamese iced coffees was tasty. Beware though: the Vietnamese iced isn't traditional as it comes with lemongrass flavor (interesting for a bit, but quite overpowering the more you drink it). Would be great to have it available without as well. Tip for the owners: layout-wise the order counter seemed to be placed not too intuitively compared to the entrance. We walked in and had to circle back per request of the barista since we were waling away from the actual counter, yet towards the coffee machines.

I really enjoyed the honey lavender latte! The shop was near my gate.They don't offer sugar-free syrups unfortunately. The staff was super kind!

I could live here. This place was seriously so good that I went back to back mornings to get their vegan breakfast burrito and matcha latte. The burrito is hands down the most delicious I've had. The sweet hot sauce you get on the side is bomb. Will be returning next trip! OH! And don't forget to grab one of the locally made chocolate bars (some are vegan). I bought the s'mores flavor and YUM, wish I had bought a whole box.

Nell and the team at Barista Parlor create a welcoming friendly environment. This location is a lovely open space with a coffee bar in the center and ample seating around the outside. Good music playing, although it was just slightly too loud for my personal taste (it could have also been where I was sitting). Parking is probably the only downside to this location. With local honey and a few restaurants close by the lot is often full.

The strawberry oat milk matcha was definitely worth the hype (it was $7)! I'm usually not a matcha girl but this was delicious. The papas burrito was also good, but for $8 I wish it was bigger than the size of my fist. My biggest complaint is that it's counter service (which is fine), but after I paid, the barista turned around the iPad for a tip and the only tip options were 20%, 22%, and 25%!!!! Of course I left a tip (20%) but when you're not even getting waited on, these tip options are a bit extreme.

Best coffee in Nashville. If you want serious coffee peeps with great drinks and an incredibly cool space, this is your spot. Had fun chatting with the barista.

Some of the best coffee in East Nashville. No question about that. And good snacks. Plenty of places to sit. Ample parking. Friendly service. The only downside (hence 4 starts instead of 5 stars) is the limited hours. I wish they were open past 2:00 p.m. Still, this is a place to go for great coffee and a fun environment.

Their strawberry oat milk matcha has been one of my favorite Nashville finds. I was filled with so much joy when I was handed such a pretty drink. This sweet matcha definitely made the perfect pre work morning treat!

If you haven't seen all the beautiful amenities in the stunning W Hotel in the Gulch, go grab yourself a coffee here and take a look! Barista Parlor brings all of their menu favorites to a light-filled and happy space in the front lobby. Disclaimer: I don't drink coffee. Yes, I am the one person. However, I do love me fresh baked temptations, and that is what drew me in. These lovelies are baked in house at The Dutch restaurant across the lobby by the resident pastry chef. I challenge you to find another local coffee shop that can say that. Highlights: Chocolate croissants, Giant chocolate chip cookie and the cheese filled danish. Oh, and I hear the coffee is legendary!

It was a cool space. It's pet friendly and they had some nice gear. I didn't try the pastries but they looked really good. Coffee was nice! Was not a fan of the avocado toast.

The ambiance is delightful. We walked in and there was wonderful Spanish music wafting through the spacious dining room. My husband and I like a dark roast... no dark roasts. So, we chose different coffee drinks to see what we liked. He chose a drip - nondescript in flavor. The coffee was weak. His coffee was hot. I chose a pour over. I prefer a smooth bold flavor in hot coffee. This coffee was luke warm and VERY weak. It was so weak you could taste the water. We are serious coffee drinkers. We order beans from a roaster in Kentucky and we live in Arizona. We have tried a new coffee shop every day of our trip - this by far the worst.

We have a love/hate relationship with BP. Right off the bat, my favorite location is golden sound (downtown) by a long shot. The employees at this location though, are some of the most incompetent & rude I have ever run into.. anywhere. Managment for real needs to address these baristas attitudes before they go out of business entirely. It's already irritating that we pay nearly $10 for a latte with tip (yes you saw that right). But what makes us not want to give them our money is the complete lack of customer service. We went today around noon on 3/13/21 & stood there waiting for nearly 15 mins after ordering while also seeing many customers that had come in after us, order at the counter and get their lattes before us. I went up and asked how much longer for our drinks... all the employees had attitudes... one idiot female employee (who I wasn't speaking to) actually had the nerve to blurt out some condescending comment to me. GTFOH. Won't be coming back here. Always makes me laugh that these low level employees like to act in an ignorant manner. You're a barista. Take it down a notch & just treat people with respect.

Favorite work spot. Coffee is good, vibes are great. All their coffee is good and the aesthetic in the space is really cool. I often work here for 4-5 hours at a time and it never gets too noisy or busy. Pastries are also great. One of my favorite spots in the city.

Again, another HUGE Nashville coffee shop. I don't know why they do this but I'm glad they do. Sometimes and intimate coffee shop is not what you need that day. We stopped in here on our way to breakfast. It was raining so I couldn't get any cute pics with their art. The barista was nice, we didn't really talk to anyone much after ordering. He ordered a breakfast biscuit and we both ordered lattes. I thought the art was a nice touch. I think my latte was whatever beet offering they have! I love the color and it tastes exactly how I wanted it to, earthy with a hint of sweet from the coconut milk. Again, this is huge place with all kinds of seating. That includes outdoor. I'm assuming pet friendly as multiple folks had their pups outside with them. Would love to come back when I'm back in town and the weather is better!

This coffee spot is pretty cool. It was a challenge to find but once we did it was a cozy spot. We ordered: 1. Whiskey Caramel latte style coffee- YUMMY! 2. Egg, Cheese & Sausage biscuit- the biscuit is a classic crumbly biscuit. The egg was fresh with good cheese and sausage. If you need a good coffee and breakfast sandwich- go here!

This is a really cool and spacious coffee spot. Plenty of seating and decor is super trendy. It was definitely a nice place to catch up with my friend, and it looked like a lot of people were studying/working as well. I did overhear someone saying they didn't like their food, but I can't speak for that since my friend and I only got drinks. I got the strawberry matcha which was really good, though I do think the menu was a bit overpriced.

Some of the most infuriating hours of any coffee shop. They keep changing. This wouldn't be an issue if they updated them on google and on social platforms, but they don't. This makes it impossible to set a coffee meeting with anyone.

Well the coffee was absolutely terrible. Got 3 iced coffees with my bf and friend and we all hated it lol. Also got a breakfast sandwich - bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It was pretty good, I felt like the everything bagel kind of had a little too much like fennel seed or something? It kind of gave off an odd taste. My friend got the breakfast burrito with chorizo and it was def just regular sausage lol not chorizo. The atmosphere was nice here it was a pretty cool looking place.

3.5 stars Super hip and HUGE cafe space. I love their open layout and unique coffee drinks. They also sell a lot of their own merchandise. We came here for breakfast on Friday morning, and it was pretty empty! Two of us shared the bacon/egg/cheese biscuit sandwich + mocha and bourbon vanilla latte. The sandwich was just ok, and my friends said the biscuit was not that good.. It seemed like the breakfast burrito was a better choice. But the latte wasn't that bad! my friend got the whiskey caramel latte, which was more sweet compared to my bourbon vanilla. We both couldn't taste the whiskey or bourbon though. I would recommend Barista Parlor if you're visiting Nashville, just to check out the space alone, but food and drinks were 3/5

Coffee here is worthy of 5 stars. This shop has a fairly limited menu compared to other local coffee shops, but the execution is always perfect. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because of the friendliness of the staff. My hubby and I have deemed Barista Parlor our favorite coffee shop in East and visit once a week, but the welcoming nature of the cashier always falls short. It's a little tricky to find as it's located behind Local Honey hair salon but there is plenty of parking in the back. You can also set up shop inside or outside for a little remote work if getting out of the house or office is an option.

Barista Parlor is awesome. I loved this place. We stopped by this cafe, located in the Lockeland Springs neighborhood of East Nashville, for a quick pick-me-up before axe throwing. This is a local hipster coffee shop with, at the time of writing this review, five locations in Nashville. The company started in 2011. I believe this location is the original. The space looks beautiful, inside and out. It's like a work of art. The business has a nautical theme. Its logo is an anchor with a ribbon wrapped around it. Outside, an anchor is painted on the concrete wall next to the parking lot. The building, which is basically a giant garage, is painted in solid, bold colors - bright blue with burnt orange retractable doors. A large wooden anchor hangs over the storefront. The interior is open and spacious with plenty of seating, most of it communal. There are lots of power outlets along the wall which help make this an ideal spot for work/study. The design and decor include distressed wood, pendant lighting, and a cool, blown-up, pixelated image of a ship. The floor looks unfinished, the ceiling is exposed. There are vintage motorcycles on display and a record player playing background music off vinyl. Along with all the seats inside, there are more outside on the covered patio. Overall, this place has a neat, laid back vibe. They serve various sorts of coffee here as you might expect including manual drip (pour over) and Yama-siphoned cold brew (the tall one that looks like a science experiment). Most servings cost between $5 to $7 each. They also serve tea like Kilogram-brand artisan tea and cascara tea (a.k.a. coffee cherry tea) ($4 each). I tried one of Barista's "specialty" drinks that include items like bourbon vanilla and Mast Brothers mocha (Mast Brothers is a sustainable chocolate maker). I had a whiskey caramel. I think it was a 12-ounce serving for $5.75 plus tax. It was excellent. The drink was ice cold and refreshing. It really hit the spot. Smooth, sweet, and creamy -- just the way I like most of my coffee. The caramel flavor was evident; the whiskey not so much, but that was okay. I still enjoyed every sip. All of my friends seemed to like what they ordered too. During our visit, the cafe had many whole bean coffee boxes for sale. They included Daredevil (growing region: Guji, Ethiopia), Golden Sound (Mexico and Columbia), Kuquipata (Cusco, Peru), and Nano Challa (Jimma, Ethiopia). Helpful tasting notes were provided on a blackboard above the inventory. For example, tasting notes for the Kuquipata were shortbread, dried cherry, and allspice. Service was terrific. We visited around 2:45pm on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy. We got our orders fast. I would definitely come back.

Ambience is very cool and the location is great. However, the WORST breakfast burrito I've had in my life. $10 with tax for a very dry, un-warmed burrito with a very small amount of filling. 80% cheap store-bought tortilla, 20% flavorless filling. 100% buyer's remorse. I cannot stress how truly bad the food is. The 7-11 across the street has a taco shop with very good breakfast burritos for $2-3. Coffee was pretty good, but it's hard to care about the coffee when you spend $40 on a poor experience. We will probably never return in all honesty, sadly.

We were in the neighborhood. I was nursing a hangover and wanted to support local. Found this little shop. The atmosphere was great. The barista was well versed and suggested some things. I would've never thought to mix apple cider and espresso but my husband loved it. It was good (I wouldn't have chosen it had she not suggested it but we were pleasantly surprised) and their headless horseman coffee was amazing.

Overpriced and really slow service. If you are in hurry, look for another joint in the airport. The coffee was good though.

Been coming here for years and wow the last 4 to 5 times pre-covid and during covid the quality is just not there. Coffee is fine, the breakfast gets worse every time. Biscuits have changed and are not the flaky moist Biscuits they used to be. Maybe there just needs to be quality checks. Other shops are now beating them at what they used to dominate.

Barista parlor has went downhill it seems. It used to be good when it first opened up. I ordered their food through ubereats and they got my order wrong. They did not include the sausage for the sausage biscuit I ordered. How do you mess that up? They also do not answer their phone. Overall poor service for mediocre food. I would like a refund. I will only order from Biscuit Love from now on.

As much as I would love to give this coffee spot 5 stars for the spacious and trendy atmosphere, as a student I have to give it four. The coffee is great! (I tried the cold brew and loved it) However, there was only one plug that I could find with at least 20 seats available here. As an all day spot for a student, I can't recommend it for that reason. But if you're looking for great coffee and a good vibe this is your place! There's outdoor covered seating and parking is abundant and nearby.

Finally going to air out my thoughts lately on Barista experiences. 1. I'm not sure why an $11 bagel results in this (see photo). It has to be one of the easiest things you can make, and if you're going to charge a premium price for the most basic breakfast item, you need to pay more attention to the quality. The bagel was hardly toasted, cheese was cold, and well... you can see the rest. This is just embarrassing. I could have gotten a better bagel combo at a 711 or Dunkin. 2. The staff is rude. I'm not sure why this is the "style," but it's not a great look. It doesn't make you a cooler place, it just makes you rude. 3. While ordering iced lattes, I generally like more ice in mine, and when I ask for a simple adjustment of less milk and more ice, they look at me like I'm crazy and sometimes cannot accommodate it. I guess it depends on who's taking my order or when they feel like being nice. Sometimes they'll do it, and other times, tell me it's just "not possible." But overall, not a pleasant experience. And for what? Just not worth it.

Latte & a biscuit. Over $20. Both were terrible. Barista Parlor sucks and every local knows it.

I had two separate friends recommend this spot on a weekend visit into town, and it's easy to see why. Not only is the space well designed and filled with unique details, but the pour over was one of the best I've had. I tried the Finca Alto, which was a wonderful recommendation by the staff. I will absolutely stop by again next time I'm in town!

We were hesitant to go here due to the lackluster reviews but decided to hit it up before flying out and are glad we did. My husband had the iced bourbon vanilla latte which was absolutely superb, smooth and not bitter whatsoever. I had a whiskey caramel almond milk latte which was quite good. I should've known it was going to be too boozy, but drank it anyway. They sell donuts, coffee beans in cute boxes and an array of cups and chocolate bars. They also have ample seating and a record player with a library full of records. Grab a cup and stay for a while.

I've been coming to Barista Parlor for about seven years now, and it's changed soooo much. They used to serve Intelligentsia, which is a very expensive coffee, so their prices completely made sense. When they switched to roasting their own, the prices didn't change. In fact, they went up. I used to be obsessed with their food. The burritos were stuffed with tots, chorizo, egg, and cheese with that magical sauce. But now, there's maybe two tots, the meat is kinda tucked to one side, and it's a lot of egg. They raised the burrito price too Then...this is what makes no sense to me. The biscuit sandwiches. I used to recommend BP as the best biscuit breakfast sandwich in Nashville. We ordered one last time we went, and it was AWFUL. It was this tiny sausage puck, and this tiny tiny biscuit. They used to make them in-house, and the sandwich was huge. Completely worth the price. And now? Yet again, they raised the price, but are handing you what looks like a microwaved Jimmy Dean sandwich. To say I'm bummed is an understatement. This used to be THE spot. I'm genuinely confused as to what happened, and why the drastic changes to the quality.

Super inconsistent pricing on Uber eats. For an iced whiskey caramel: their menu ($6.25) versus Uber pickup Germantown ($8) versus East Nashville price for an iced whiskey caramel ($9). Plus, $11.50 at the Germantown location for a hot bourbon vanilla ($6 on menu)? Super odd. Not sure if the prices change based on an algorithm, but I would be wary of ordering on external platforms. I regularly frequent the east nashville location. It's great (I like the pour overs and biscuit sandwiches with jam) but a bit expensive.

Honestly very underwhelmed by my experience. The worker was rude and unhelpful, dismissing and impatient. She seemed like she didn't want to be there nor did she want to help me. As a matcha lover it was very weird to have gone to a million coffee shops in the world and everyone has regular matcha, yet barista parlor o my have coconut matcha. Which, sure, unique. But why? I'd recommend having regular matcha. The ambiance is nice and it's a great place to work! I have no clue on the coffee! Never tried it.

Out of most menu items when I was there, which is fine by me, I'm not picky. But it is way overpriced. 11$ for a small burrito with what looks to be fake eggs and sausage. I could make it at home for way less. And then if you order a drink with it, it's around 20$ without the tip. If you bring a friend and you both order an 11$ burrito and a drink, it will total to around 40$ with tip. I do not recommend going here for a meal, maybe a drink.

I've been a "regular" since Barista Parlor opened their original location in East Nashville. I don't make coffee at home, so there are times when I was there every day. It's been quite a ride with these guys. I've watched the menu expand from a few specialty coffees to flavored lattes, gourmet biscuit sandwiches to drip coffee at the airport. In all that time, I never had a single bad cup, no matter how it was brewed or how long it took. That is why I come back. The only negative is how small and mediocre the food offerings (namely the biscuits) have become. You used to get huge, fluffy biscuits loaded with thick bacon or perfect fried bologna, but now they're phoning it in with what looks and tastes like a convenience store variety. Still though, you're primarily there for the coffee. That dialed-in pour-over or latte never, ever disappoints.

The coffee was good. A very dark chocolate, cherry profile. One order was before us and it took about 15 minutes to get a few lattes.

We stumbled across Barista Parlor on a chilly Monday afternoon. Confused by the name, we figured it was either a bar or a coffee shop. While whiskey sounded nice, I was fine settling for an espresso. Walking in I was in awe of the stark industrial space, and impressed by the botanical and warm accents. An eclectic collective of Nashville business people and a few hot dads added to the atmosphere. When I read the menu, I grew red faced. Used to my Starbucks Pike Place, I was overwhelmed by the sophisticated choices. Nevertheless, the cute shaggy haired baristas made me feel right at home- like I belonged. I ordered the Cuzco roast and was entranced by the complicated notes of the blend. The homemade, cranberry pear pop tart made a delicious side, though it would have been better warmed up. I will certainly return!

This place is so cool. Before my trip to Nashville, I found out about this place on a blog so we stopped by before flying home. We pulled in and saw the open air store and cute patio space. Yummy looking treats from five daughters bakery and a scrumptious menu of eats and drinks. We ordered and waited a bit at a long table with a large table number. I ordered the Daytona plate and it was everything I wanted in a breakfast. Warm biscuit, peaches, eggs and sausage. My caramel latte (called whiskey caramel) was one of the best I have had. Now, I am not a coffee snob, but it was the perfect amount of sweet and milk and yummy. Loved the decor and ambience. Didn't hurt that it was a beautiful cool summer morning too.

This is one of the best coffee shops in Nashville. I not know why it hasn't received more 5 star ratings. Loved the Golden Sound as a cappuccino and as a pour over. I typically don't even like to drink my coffee black but the pour over was so full of flavor I didn't need to do anything else with it. The location is sort of tucked off the road a bit behind a salon and under a giant billboard that (currently) advertises stache.com. The setting has a ton of seating and an outdoor covered patio for those warm mornings. Stop in and grab a cappuccino and a TopoChico and have a good day.

Likely the best coffee you'll find in East Nashville and one of the top coffee spots in the entire city. Great post-industrial space. My only wish is that they'd serve coffee in real ceramic mugs (or cups or something in glassware) instead of paper cups. And even if you're staying awhile and order food, it comes in to-go packaging. It would add a lot to the experience to have non-plastic utensils, non-paper coffee cups, and food served on actual plates.
