Bar Madonna is a chic Williamsburg cocktail spot, serving up crave-worthy Italian-American bites like smashable meatball parms and flaky cannoli amid a vibrant atmosphere and creative drinks.
"We’re calling it now: Bar Madonna’s “smashed meatball parm” is going to be the next dish haunting your feed. The Williamsburg cocktail bar has some Italian DNA, so you can pair your sandwich with a Bellini or Negroni, or get a sazerac with gold leaf while sitting in a big green booth underneath a skylight. We checked out Bar Madonna and added it to the Hit List." - will hartman
"In a very Williamsburg sort of way, Bar Madonna was inspired by a painting from streetwear designer KidSuper. Hung in the back, the painting shows folks in formalwear drinking martinis. But the Italian American bar isn’t especially formal, and, while the cocktails are great, the food is the main draw. Lined with globe lights and green banquettes, this place serves a menu best described as red sauce steakhouse meets afterschool munchies. A dense meatball parm with stretchy provolone is crisped like a smashburger, and grilled hot wings are charred to the limit. Swing by for a casually fun dinner, a few quick snacks, or some late-night mingling. Bar Madonna is open until at least midnight daily, with hours that run until 2am Thursday through Saturday. photo credit: Carbon Stories photo credit: Carbon Stories photo credit: Carbon Stories" - Bryan Kim
"Bar Madonna, the Williamsburg cocktail bar, is a collaboration with Ray Rando, offering a menu with items like meatball Parm and wings with Calabrian hot sauce." - Emma Orlow
"Bar Madonna takes its name not from the religious icon or pop singer, but managing partner Eric Madonna, an alum of the Modern. The Williamsburg cocktail bar, located at 367 Metropolitan Avenue, near Havemeyer Street, is a collaboration with partner Ray Rando, a former manager at Carbone, whom Madonna met years back when both worked at Lupa, once co-owned by Mario Batali. At this Italian American venture of their own, there are several cocktails, including, eventually the roll out of Italian pastry-shaped Jell-O shots. A kitchen menu, designed by chef Rob Zwirz (an alum of Marc Forgione’s One Fifth), includes a meatball Parm, wings with Calabrian hot sauce, and oxtail croquettes with blood orange marmalade. The space includes art from KidSuper, a clothing brand." - Emma Orlow
