"We can’t think of anyone you shouldn’t go to Bancone with. Friends, colleagues, family, dates are all welcome. Hell, bring your ex—you’ll look fantastic sitting at the counter in the candlelight. Whether you’re at the main bar or the oval counter around an olive tree, Bancone is a truly lovely place to be. The handmade pasta is excellent, like the signature silk handkerchiefs in a glossy walnut butter sauce, plus you can easily go all in with wine or cocktails, and still have a pretty affordable meal." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager
"Balcone are offering a takeaway service at their Victoria Park coffee shop. It’s reduced hours for now, so only head down between 9am and 2pm Wednesdays and Thursdays, or till 4pm on Fridays and weekends." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Bancone in Borough Yards is quite simply a beautiful place to eat beautiful pasta. Lean back into caramel-coloured leather seats and peer into the kitchen as pasta is tossed in sauce, and confit yolks are slid onto plates. Order the signature silk handkerchiefs glistening with walnut butter, every bite smooth and rich, then move onto the spicy ‘nduja ragù. For somewhere that feels special, it’s all very reasonably priced. Which is to say, you should absolutely get another praline cannolo with crystalised hazelnuts. "Bancone is a little corridor of a restaurant on a quiet patch of Covent Garden that will provide all the important date night Ps: privacy, pasta, primitivo reds, and exposed light bulbs. That last one doesn’t begin with P but such is the sexual prowess of an exposed bulb that we will forgo our affinity for alliteration to tell you about it. The handmade pasta is excellent, available gluten-free, and importantly, is affordable. There are also lots of Nice Nibbly Things on the menu, including olives, burrata, and rosemary focaccia that are great with one of their Negronis." - heidi lauth beasley
"Bancone is all about really good pasta in a really great setting. And for somewhere with this much marble, and this much saffron butter on the menu, it’s pretty affordable too. Go for the silk handkerchiefs (sheets of velvety pasta covered in hazelnut butter and confit egg yolk), or the slow-cooked 10-hour oxtail ragu pappardelle. Even if you come for a quick lunch, a couple of Negronis probably won’t hurt either." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager
