"Dishes like pakora and kachori which both came back from India, chapati from East Africa, and shuwa, Oman's classic special event dish.... they slather a goat with a spicy paste consisting of cumin, coriander, red pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. Then wrap the meat in palm or banana leaves, dig a hole, throw in some meat, and cover it up and leave underground for a day or two over hot coals."

We visited this restaurant at Mutrah for dinner we didn't reserve any table so had to wait for 20 mins then we got a table. This restaurant is busy during dinner time better to reserve your table before hand. we ordered shuwa and it was excellent, taste of mutton was really good it was a different experience for me as I was trying shuwa for the first time. Service was great, ambience is cool, this restaurant can accomodate big groups as well. There's balcony dining available overlooking the sea but you need to reserve a balcony table. Definitely worth the wait, must try in Muscat

This lovely restaurant is in a famous old tourist area. It has a great view, beautiful décor, and very friendly staff. You can really enjoy the feeling of Omani hospitality here. I’m not a big fan of seafood, but this was the best seafood I’ve ever had! The fish and shrimp in the stew were so fresh and full of flavor. The other dishes were also delicious and high quality. I truly enjoyed the whole experience.

Very tasty food and fantastic service. Interiors really cosy and comfortable. We got fresh dates and omanian coffee for free what was a very nice gesture. Prices are reasonable. You can pay by card.

Delicious. We loved okra stew and the eggplant cloud (eggplants w/ garlic yogurt). For shuwa, lamb was yum but rice could have been more aromatic in my opinion. Reservation is highly recommended for dinner.

Bait Al Luban was quite disappointing. The portion sizes are not suitable for the high prices, and there’s almost no privacy the tables and floor seating are all very close to each other, which makes the experience uncomfortable. I ordered the Lamb Qabouli and it came with only two very small pieces of meat, with the rest being just rice. For the price they charge, it simply doesn’t feel worth it

Our server was amazing!!! Food was good but nothing I would come back for. You definitely need a reservation and I would recommend trying to snag one of the two seater seats on the balcony because the view is amazing.

For someone who wants to try genuine Omani cuisine (and not just international dishes), this restaurant is a first choice. The atmosphere combines authenticity with a slightly upscale touch – perfect if you value a pleasant setting. Great location, especially if you’re already walking along the Corniche or visiting the fish market. The menu offers a wide variety of options – ideal for those curious to sample different dishes.
