"Because who doesn't love a good read? Armadillo's pillow is the bookstore you've always dreamt of. With a wide selection of genres to choose from, in an even larger number of stacks, you'll always be able to stumble onto something new or old that tickles your fancy. Maybe that philosophy text you've heard so much about or that classic novel that you've never taken the time to read. Whatever it is, you'll find it here." - Sidekick Video

A charming neighborhood bookstore with a great selection of used books. It can be a bit tricky to find something specific since there are so many books and not all are cataloged, but that’s part of the fun — you never know what hidden gem you’ll stumble upon! I found Needful Things by Stephen King, first edition, first printing, for just $7.50 ($8.26 including tax), while it’s listed for $40 on Amazon—an absolute steal! If you love browsing and discovering unexpected treasures, this place is worth a visit.

If you're looking for sheet music for piano to sight read, this place is IT! I picked up a stack of later level ABRSM exam books from past years for 2 bucks a pop. As a Wagner completionist, I bought both of the Cosima Wagner gold diary books for 20, and tons of other books like a Beethoven, Dido and Aeneas libretto book, Christmas song book from 1877, etc. You can also buy cute dice there for cheap!

One of my favorite used bookstores in Chicago, if not the country! So adorable and cozy inside and full of interesting and unique photos, trinkets, old records, and of course the used books. There are all kinds of books of varying genres and a cozy area to read as well.

Really nice book story. Price is on the inside cover top right. Lots of used and old books. Some nice and collectable books to behind display cases.

I stopped in here coming back from Columbia Beach. What a gem. It's a tiny shop, but they make great use of the space. Don't let the size fool you. It's a tiny little maze of bookshelves. There are a couple of places to sit and read, not many. But definitely a really cool vibe. Close to some shops and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit if you want a cool bookstore and not just the cookie cutter big box bookstores.

Really cool used book store. Good deals if you're willing to browse. Comfortable, laid-back atmosphere. Well worth the visit.

I’ve been visiting this bookstore since 2019. It’s such an intimate setting that allows you to peacefully peruse through the isle for your favorite reads. The store is divided into themes and authors and the book prices vary from hardcover (obviously) to more popular reads. Regardless, it’s a good buy and I got some great reads so far for as low as four bucks. This has been my favorite bookstore to visit in Illinois; that goes without saying I’ll be returning.
