"Cenk Debensason has travelled extensively over the years, and this has shaped his personality as a chef. In brief, he grew up in Istanbul, trained in France, and matured as a chef in the United States. You also get a sense of his journey in his dishes. The depth of the slightly syrupy apicius sauce that accompanies the perfectly medium-rare duck breast with wonderfully crispy skin leaves no doubt as to his knowledge of French cuisine. But the chef's creativity goes beyond the classics, a case in point being his tuna sashimi marinated in a soy-mirin mixture, served with sushi rice ice cream with a subtle acidity, spicy daikon sprouts, and an expressive ginger-ponzu vinaigrette to bring everything together. This stylish villa from the 1960s has a certain vintage feel and matches Cenk Debensason's personality very nicely. Be sure to visit the Listening Room on the upper floor before or after your meal for a delicious drink and the chef's favourite music (sometimes DJs also play). The food here is fantastic, especially the meats. They're cooked to perfection. However, there was a pretty long wait between the starter and the main course, which was a bit disappointing. The portions were a bit small for the price, and the steak tartar was a bit too salty. The peach dessert was absolutely delicious, though! Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list, which was a nice touch. The ambiance and music were great, but it was a bit too loud for having a conversation with colleagues. It might not be the best place for business meetings. Overall, a great experience with a few minor hiccups.

We had a wonderful evening that started with delicious drinks in the Listening Room. We then went to the dining room which is elegant/casual/relaxing. The food was fun and superb. We had three delicious starters and four mains. The sommelier gave us great advice on Turkish wines to pair with the dishes. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Everything we could have hoped for and more. In spite of all of the reviews recommending the beef, we were in the mood for seafood. We started with 2 appetizers one with mushrooms that was lights out good and and asparagus in puff pastry the was also excellent. For entrees we had the grouper and the sea bass. Both were amazing. The sea bass came with a Thai sauce that was wonderful. A lovely bottle of Turkish Chardonnay completed the evening. Oh yeah, dessert was amazing as well! We never made it to the listening room, sadly, but an exceptional evening that was everything I could have hoped.

The most spontaneous restaurant choice I’ve made yet… walking in was a but scary for me because I hadn’t taken time to go through menu or even read through reviews but everything and I mean everything here was REALLY good,I will update with the names of the dishes later,service was good,tried espresso martini for the first time and I guess it was what it was supposed to be.The meals were exceptional,nicely garnished and properly served.There is music upstairs so if you are interested in staying a bit longer try it.Definitely going back here again real soon

The food was amazing and truly original. However, the service fell short. Our server, Umut, was unfriendly and rude, making no effort to explain the menu or the concept. It’s a shame, as our starters, meals, and desserts were excellent. The girl assisting was very helpful and attentive, which was appreciated.

Arkestra is housed in a former residential villa built in the 1960's, and is home to three distinct spaces: Restaurant, Listening Room, and Ritmo. The dining room is elegant. Service is polished and friendly. Chef Cenk Debensason, drawing from his extensive travels, infuses his dishes with a blend of classic techniques and global flavors, particularly Asian influences. Strangely bread and butter is a charged course which is strange for a fine dining restaurant. The Katsu Sando’s cut thicker to typical in Japan. Other than these two comments the food was Creative with substance. The dishes were full of flavours and travel from one plate to another. This is the best fine dining experience in Istanbul.
